The episode Lisa the vegetarian may have come out during the shows heyday, but it definitely was a sign of things to come. Paul McCartney agreed to lend his voice to the episode on the conditions Lisa's vegetarianism be made a permeant part of her character. Rather then tell Paul to fuck off and find someone else to guest star in the episode the show runners just rolled over and took it. And what's worse it was the start of lisa becoming the insufferable activist brat she'd become in later episodes like lisa the tree hugger, the old man and lisa, and so on.

Yes, definitely, but I think that's part of the irony in the meme. Although Simpsons shitposting is a unique art that mainly only consists of material from the Golden Era, what separates Sneedposting is that it's almost like ironic, satirical Simpsons shitposting that makes a mockery of the whole thing in general. Whereas basic Simpsons shitposting has some artistic merit to it, Sneedposting is like a low-effort parody of something that's already a parody to begin with. Zombie era is forgettable, but the fun of Sneedposting is that Sneed and Chuck are completely stupid, inane 1-dimensional characters who contribute next to nothing in the entire Simpsons canon...and that in itself is what makes them unique to play around with.

It's almost like Porkins in Star Wars: he was a useless character in the original film who had a handful of lines of dialogue and then dies, but he has his own following in the fandom due to the absurdity of his character, and to a lesser extent his name and how his actor was obese.

Except) Porkins in the Lucas era of Star Wars EU had his story told and it retroactively made him a good character who can be respected and was in fact respected in universe

How bing are the chances then they bring back Lisa in her old self when Paul McCartney will pass away?

Not likely, as the writing room is filled with Lisas now.

The only writer from the Golden Age or the Silver Age who's still on the show is Al Jean, who's largely responsible for the show's excessive decline because he's still butthurt about what some random Usenet dorks said way back in 1997 and why the writing room is full of Lisa wannabes.

What's the story on that? I don't think I've heard this before.

Lionel Hutz's first appearance on The Simpsons in "Bart Gets Hit by a Car", 30 years ago now (January 10, 1991)
