Bob was kino, but I think people misunderstand the character kinda as well as the show's producers. It's a sad state of affairs when you can actually manage to ruin Sideshow Bob, the easiest character to make funny given that he's an actual murderous clown with a refined Transatlantic accent. How you could fuck that up is just beyond me. Bob made everything funnier.

In short another victim of Flanderization.Bob was kino, but I think people misunderstand the character kinda as well as the show's producers.
The thing Bob is most known for, trying to kill Bart, only happened in one episode of the Golden Age (although he tried to kill Selma too). Sideshow Bob was all about a variety of plans and not just killing Bart. He was about getting revenge on others, psychological torture, and strength through his negativity. I think that was truly lost when the writers started trying to capitalize on Cape Feare (overrated af episode) around the time Day of the Jackanapes came out.
It didn't help that a lot of fans only thought that as well.Bob was kino, but I think people misunderstand the character kinda as well as the show's producers.

... what? Man, I'm glad I ditched the Simpsons.Last thing I remember Bob doing is becoming a genetic scientist and giving himself loads of different animal traits, like gills and stuff.
It was dumb.

KKK? That's not good...
I rationalized that as steadily declining mentally and Bart being a far more resillent target than Krusty. Bart is also a fan of Krusty and has saved him in the past, so he has to go first before Sideshow Bob can eliminate the clown.Even in Day of the Jackanapes, he wasn't just trying to kill Bart. He wanted to kill Bart and Krusty, and Krusty was the main target. It wasn't until after that episode, that he solely fixated of killing Bart.
There's a reason why I consider Seasons 11, 12, and 13 to be a Silver Age instead of part of Zombie Simpsons.
"It wasn't my fault. It was the Percodan! If you ask me, that stuff rots your brain... And now a word from our new sponsor... PERCODAN?! AW CRAP!"KKK? That's not good...
"Well, Krusty, this is your Waterloo. Soon you'll be Napoleon Blown-apart!"Even in Day of the Jackanapes, he wasn't just trying to kill Bart. He wanted to kill Bart and Krusty, and Krusty was the main target. It wasn't until after that episode, that he solely fixated of killing Bart.
Best zombie Simpsons episode:
"Take that Washington! *BLAM* Eat lead, Einstein! *BLAM* Show's over, Shakespeare!"
