I know one of the twins (Terri) had a speaking rule in Barthood, a future episode.

And Martin Prince was usually featured in bit gags..unlike the very early seasons (mostly 1-6) where Martin played an integral role as a foil to Bart.
 
Goddammit, she also voiced Uter. I mean, Uter was implied to have been killed and hasn't shown up in ages (And even if he has, I haven't watched anything Simpsons in 15 years.), but he was one of my favorite incidental characters.

This is sad.
 
Gonna be weird if the series continues much longer and it's just the main family walking through a silent frozen world like The Langoliers because all the secondary characters died or left the cast.

Harry Shearer's 75 himself, and he voices a good chunk of the cast including Burns, Smithers, and Flanders.

Honestly that might happen sooner than you think.

Not the ones Dan or Nancy (or any of the supporting cast, like Tress or Chris) voice. Unless one of them end up next. If Harry dies, I can probably see them doing an episode involving the power plant either being taken over or shut down.

In that case then what are they going do if one of the voice actors of the main characters die I Imagine they can't easily hide that unlike secondary characters unless they just going to reuse voice clips of one of them when needed.
 
I get the feeling that it'll only end if one of the main six dies. And if Tress MacNeille dies before Julie Kavner, I'll be shocked.

I saw a clip of a modern-ish season lately and it sounds like it's painful for her to talk. She'll be gone soon no doubt, either because of death or because her voice gives out.

The show has gone for so long that they have enough voice clips to create a Homersune Miku
 
Either way, this show is just staying on because people think it should. It's honestly baffling how Fox never thought to line up replacements at this point or if they have, it's entirely too late to capitalise on. Even Toei took the time to replace bulma of all people in the case her VA kicked the bucket.
 
Fox doesn't care. Matt Groening doesn't care. No one cares. They'll just run it right into the ground.
