I should have paid more attention to the episode. I just kind of listened to it as I did other things. I could tell the show was going to be crap just by the episode summary. But Scientologists have been known to sneak Scientology themes into their scripts and I should have been paying attention to look for it.

The episode didn't have anything really telling signs.

Also, it amazes me that Nancy Cartwright plays the most rebellious troublemaking character in the show, yet she conforms to such an idiotic cult as scientology. Crazy how people can be.

I didn't see anything, and if they were there, they were either subtle or drowned out by the show's modern day incompetence.

And that showrunner's name?
J.K. Rowling

For God's sake, she's 8 years old. There's no reason this should be a thing.

Plus it kinda contradicts all those "in the future" episodes where she exclusively dates men.
It's almost as if it's as pointless as the last 20 seasons. Why are they constantly trying to use Lisa as a pandering device again?

Of course Lisa would turn out to be a queer dangerhair type.

Why won't Al Jean fucking quit as showrunner and let FOX take The Simpsons out behind the woodshed and put it out of its misery?

As it is, FOX makes nearly all of its money from The Simpsons off of merchandising and nostalgia for the first ten seasons. Heck, now we're seeing nostalgia for Seasons 11-16, which have retroactively aged better because of how downright god-awful the post-movie seasons are. It helps that my generation liked watching those seasons as kids alongside reruns of the "Classic" seasons, too.

I used to like Lisa in the classic seasons and the Scully Era as well, but Al Jean ruined her character and she's my least favorite of the characters in the newer seasons.

Eight year olds shouldn't have sexual orientations. This shit is creepy on so many levels.

Today's terrible excuse for a Simpleton's episode contains:

  • A shitty sequel to A Streetcar Named Marge.
  • A shitty subplot where Homer rubbernecks a lady who leads a Daddy N' Me class.
  • Bart flosses while singing a "nah, nah, a-boo, boo" song to Lisa. Yes, flosses.
This episode didn't really contain as much as much surefire shit as the last one, but what I'm noticing is that while last season Grandpa appeared in a lot of episodes, this season KRUSTY is appearing in a lot of episodes. 6 or 7 episodes so far, nearly a third of the season.

Lol. Al Jean has always put up Lisa's character as the "rebellious one". Remember Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington and Lisa The Beauty Queen? It's just that as the show got more left-wing Lisa has become the ultimate mouthpiece for everything. I think Bart-Mangled Banner is the episode where things start to get lib-tarded. In that episode, Jean says "Oh woe is me. Libs always get imprisoned for standing up for what is right." Al Jean's slow descent into madness started to really peak right there.

There seems to be this new trend of the show blatantly retreading old ground. We saw this with the Kamp Krusty sequel and to a lesser extent that Shining parody. Which is just fucking lazy, but this show has been out of ideas for literal decades.

What was the music video during the end credits where everyone was dressed like Ned Flanders?

EDIT:

I guess it was this?

Fuck Hamilton, fuck this episode.

They seriously got John Lithgow to do this? Although it does explain why he did Great British Bake Off this year...

Also, anyone else digging the death metal Ned Flanderses?

I don't know what to think. Okilly Dokilly sure is a novelty band that exists.

They're on tour this month. Perhaps that's why The Simpsons used a clip from "White Wine Spritzers" in tonight's episode even though the music video itself is from 2016.

Here's the other music video on their Youtube account.

Lol. MeBlogWriteGood with his liberal bias sperged out about the subplot of this episode:

The subplot sucked, I must say, since Homer would usually not be one to rubberneck and get tempted, but he describes it in such a cucky way that comes across as "Why must men always have to fucking look at women with the male gaze?" Not his exact words mind you, but the tone, my guys. THE TONE.

It's already been established in that shitty future episode, Holidays of Future Passed, that Lisa ends up dating some chicks in college before settling down with Milhouse. That poly shit just makes things even worse though.

To quote Sideshow Bob, "Oh, we've all experimented in college."
