Just heard about "Stark Raving Dad" getting pulled, surprised it took me this long.
I am mad on the internet. I don't give a fuck if Michael Jackson touched those kids or not, "Stark Raving Dad" is a fantastic episode of one of my favorite shows.
You can't not like it. The character arc of Jackson's character is so masterful I'd argue it rivals some of the better episodes of Futurama/the more emotionally driven episodes of The Simpsons. The fact that he "found some peace in talking in Jackson's voice because it made everyone around him happy" always got to me when I watched the episode- it's such a wholesome and wonderful sentiment that fits so well with the Lisa and Bart arc going on too.
It makes me miss good Simpsons episodes and times when people didn't give a fuck about the shit you did off-camera and could separate the artist from the art in cases like this. "Stark Raving Dad" has fucking zero to do with Michael Jackson diddling kids, and neither does Smooth Criminal or Off the Wall.
Fuck me, man.
