The Japanese is accurate.
In the Japanese dub, Homer is speaking Japanese, so they have the guy say "he's from America, you talk to him" instead of "he speaks English, you talk to him."

They still dub over the factory workers even though the English subtitles are left intact, as well as the Mr. Sparkle commercial.

(The YT channel "The Simpsons is best anime" uploads clips from the Japanese dub of the show.)

Also I hear The Simpsons is fairly niche in Japan, mostly known for advertising C.C. Lemon.

And Bart now has a new teacher, Flanders.
What a fresh, novel idea!

Difference there is that Flanders was Principal, not teacher. Still done a lot better there than in this past episode.

Also, for those who want a better explanation for Japanese Simpsons:

I suppose those things are hard to remove if they already come pre-edited on their masters, like maybe they don't have a textless version to work with. I wouldn't doubt if the same has also been seen in other foreign markets.

I think me or someone else brought that up earlier, but yeah, not nearly as popular as we thought. It's kinda like certain things that are big in Japan but have a niche following stateside (can't think of a J-pop or anime right now).

I see we have a new meme on our hands!

EDIT: Yep!

It may not have a punchy name like Steamed Hams, but this is a pretty funny meme in its own right.
*There's some earrape here. Just a warning.

I can't believe they did another "the Simpsons are going to [place name]" episode within a month of the previous "the Simpsons are going to [place name]" episode.

This time it was Denmark, and they did a joke about how short the days are in Denmark even though Copenhagen is by far the southernmost Scandinavian capital... Denmark barely counts as Scandinavia, it's more like Germany's cap.

Also I went to Copenhagen once and I don't remember an excessive amount of people holding hands.

True, I guess going to Norway or Sweden wasn't planned or they could've had them going to the northern portions of Scandinavia and do that bit. Denmark certainly wasn't the best place for that to work (Swedish Midsummers are kickass I hear).

If this post gets enough positive ratings I will post my idea for a Simpsons that will definitely make it go into an era that was just as good as the original years!

I overheard part of the new episode while walking through the kitchen tonight.

Jesus Christ, Julie Kavner sounds like she's dying.

Of all the voice actors on there, her voices weren't nearly as sustainable. All her characters have such husky voices, so it's kind of amazing that she's lasted this long.

It's like when Joji said that doing the Filthy Frank voice was doing some damage to his voice, except this is over a nigh-on 30 year period. Could you imagine the eternal sore throat that woman must have?

It's pretty much her actual speaking voice though

Considering that Julie Kavner suffers from vocal polyps, I imagine her throat is always sore.

I noticed this over the past couple episodes. Her voice is deteriorating FAST; even the beginning of this season, her voice didn't sound like that.
Julie Kavner may not be able to keep it up for long, and you absolutely can not do the show without her, so The Simpsons may be in its twilight years. (unless they write Marge, Patty & Selma, etc. out of the show, which wouldn't be right no matter how they did it.)

They're up to season 29 and I remember Al Jean saying he wants to end it at season 30. We'll see if that's true or not soon.

I took a peak at the show's wiki page and saw this:

"
Foreshadowing of actual events

The Simpsons has gained notoriety for including jokes that would later become reality. Perhaps the most famous example comes from the episode "Bart to the Future", which mentions billionaire Donald Trump having been President of the United States at one time and leaving the nation broke. The episode first aired in 2000, sixteen years before Trump would successfully run for the position.[115]"

They didn't predict shit. People have been saying Trump would be president since the late 80's.

I seriously hope they end it before she loses her voice completely.

If not, then they'll have a problem.
