It's so uncanny to go back and re-watch season 2 here in 2022. The Simpsons have become the ultimate time capsule. Arcades in malls, cartridge based video games, vhs tapes and cathode ray tube TVs. Cable TV being a hot commodity where as now most communication companies use "cut the cord" as a marketing technique.

Really does send you back to a different, yet still oddly familiar enough world.
Its only familiar because you lived in that era, meanwhile I can imagine a zoomer looking at 16bit carts like I looked at vinyl records when I grew up with CDs.
Millennials are now finally understanding what it was like for their parents to see humor they don't understand or find funny infect all their favorite mediums. Kids these days, they don't know humor like me!

This applies to me, but gaming instead of music.
Yeah but I'm supposed to be offended at what the zoomers are up to, not just say "huh, well that's kinda gay"
It is ironic how after multiple generations pushing the envelope zoomers are instead going back, like I remember the older genX kids watching beavis and butthead while the boomers who grew up with disney were horrified saying "you can't do that in a cartoon!" and then we millennials were doing "kill X celeb" flash animations and pushing things to the point that the genX's thought we were little psychos. But now zoomers can't handle shit, everything is scary, everything is bigoted, and every character with a friend of the same gender is actually gay.

I don't want to imagine how zoomers handle the part where Beavis and Butthead use their white privilege. :story:

Do the Universe gave me hope for the KOTH reboot. I was worried Judge would bow before the mob like virtually everyone else in entertainment has but it looks like he hasn't done so.

This one's for you, Kaiser Bill. Special delivery from Uncle Sam for the boys in "D" company. Yeah... Johnny, Harrison, Brooklyn Bob, and Reggie. Yeah, even Reggie! He ain't so stuck up once you get to-- BOOOOOOOOM!

I forgot how great this bit was.

Was watching The Front the other day. How relative that episode is now in you could make the argument grandpa represents the current Simpsons writers.

“Is this the Abraham Simpson who wrote the Itchy and Scratchy episode?”

“Ishi and what? Oh, you must be some kind of crazy person.”

“I'm sorry, but we have a substantial check here for a Mr. Abraham Simpson.”

“That's right. I did the lggy.”

that episode has one of my all-time favourite lines:
"He's got something you couldn't get at your fancy schools: life experience."
Actually, I wrote my thesis on life experience!

Springfield will have its first annual "Do What You Feel" Festival this Saturday, whenever you feel like showing up!

It'll be a welcome change from our annual "Do As We Say" Festival, started by German settlers in 1946.

I’m late but remember the episode featuring the TikTok star? It aired, and here is a clip of it. https://youtube.com/watch?v=V1pidY2uLWg
Jesus Christ, I know it’s said a lot but I hate how sterile and lifeless modern 4K Simpsons look, sure the show is technically brighter and has more detailed backgrounds but the original cell shaded look is so much more animated and atmospheric, there was a real humour and fluidity to it you see missing in any crap they shit out now.

The difference in animation is night and day
