Which is a nice change, and is probably because Wilson's so goofy and religious. Cuz 99% of the time when a nigga starts dating a single mom in the West that kid's getting beaten or molested.
Yah, totally fair. Russ is a really arrogant (when it comes to football at least), cornball that takes himself way too seriously, but he does strike me as a legitimately pretty nice guy, just one that's too sheltered and christian to understand how try-hard and cringe he comes off to people sometimes.

That said, I'll never not laugh when the Pat Mcaffee Show crew rips on him.

One of best bits they had on the show was that football that Russell got paid to advertise for.

This is exactly the clip that came to mind lmao. It is kind of crazy to me how little respect a guy who made it to the Superbowl two years in a row, and if not for a really bad play call in the second one, would have won it two years in a row seems to get from people though. You can argue that had way more to do with Pete Carroll or the Legion of Boom, but even still, it's funny that him acting the way he does makes it this easy for people to just shit all over him, with a record that, on paper should make him one of the best in the league if he retired right after.

I really thought that NE would give us the first TD pass thrown by a rookie QB this season rather than just running out the clock. Would've been funny for Drake Maye to do it in 4 minutes of game time vs the other QBs with 2 games to do it

"Who in the hell is Mel Kiper anyways? Mel kiper has no more credentials to do what he's doing than my neighbor! my neighbors a postman! and he doesnt even have season tickets to the NFL!"

Seriously though, when it cuts back to everyone on the get up set they all look like they're sitting through their grandfather rant about the korean war (which he didnt even fight in, he was a cook in Kentucky). Why do they even let this retarded boomer on TV anymore. Does anyone take him seriously? Even in the draft the whole talking point around him is how wrong he is.

Honestly the resurgence of the run game has been refreshing IMO. When I played football as a kid the only system we ran from peewee up to varsity football that we ran was the power T, or simply just the T offense. And I grew up watching Big 10 football and Im a Lions fan, so running backs have a special place in my heart. I hate to sound like a chud/fudd/boomer, but passing the ball is complicated and complex. Not to say run schemes cant be, but when you have a player like Derek Henry or Barry Sanders, LaDainian Tomlinson, Saquan Barkley, Jim Brown, Adrian Peterson, etc, etc. The plays to a certain point simply boil down to 4 steps:
1. Snap ball.
2. Hand ball to unstoppable force.
3. ...
4. Profit!
I mean the entirety of the Lions offense in the 90's was just handing the ball to Barry and hoping he broke a tackle for a touchdown. We dont need to ban the 2 high safety.

JUST RUN THE DAMN BALL!!!

FFS stop trying to legislate the game. I fucking hate these people trying to legislate the game to be how they want it to be. Just let the game change and develop

I can't believe that this is a real thing. It's 2024 and this boomer is over here talking about QB's who played 50-60 years ago. Jesus Christ

Patriots rushing defense looked like a piece of shit last night, jesus.

Why even put Drake Maye in, even if it was garbage time their oline and Brisset were getting raped. Are they retarded?

Why am I seeing articles and stuff talking about how now that half his team is looking injured that Brock Purdy can now try and prove himself and show he isn't a system QB? Fuck's sake he was in the Superbowl and had an amazing season last year. Please tell me how good any QB would look with so many stars injured. The Chiefs would be outright sucking right now if Rashee Rice wasn't in.

Do they not want to see a QB succeed with such a small salary or something?

Sports journalists will do anything to justify their take on where a player belonged in the draft. Anything.
They don't want to see him succeed because he wasn't a consensus first/second round talent and that makes them look like the professional rubberneckers they are.
If Brady is anything to go by, when it comes to QBs in particular you pretty much have to have a MVP season after the rest of the roster surrounding you has totally cycled before they'll maybe admit you're a good QB on your own.

Shannon Sharpe calling Baker trash for years, anytime Colin Cowherd opens his mouth and giving Sam Darnold a bajillion excuses, etc. It is extremely aggravating to see

Lmao so that's now 4 of the 6(?) QBs from this draft class who've taken a snap without a Tuddy 3 weeks in? I know every class can't be stacked with talent, and it's still early yet, but wtf man, none of them have even come close to getting one off.

If you think this is bad, you should see next years QB class! If I was a Giants fan I'd be shitting bricks right now LOL
