Could anyone have made something out of Bryce though? I have my doubts an unathletic skinny manlet would have ever been able to squeak by as a pro QB, much less going 1 overall without Nick Saban vouching for them
I dunno, it's pretty weird. He carried that Bama team on his back for his last year in college. His best receiver was Gibbs ffs.

Then he gets into the NFL and sucks, which, okay, that's fine. Rookie year. But then he started regressing and looks even worse. Nobody ever bothered to fix whatever hoopty-ass dropback dance he has.

I'm gonna say it's a combination of a QB that's not ready for the pro level combined with Carolina breaking him and not bothering with development. If he could fix his dropback he could work in something like McDaniel's scheme where he just needs to get it out quick and let YAC do the work.

Kinda got me thinking, with how ass the last few QB draft classes have been, is it time to stop relying on college ball alone to cultivate talent? It seems like some programs do focus on developing their players for this inevitable transition, but now that there's so much money in college ball on it's own, it seems like athletic departments are just focusing on winning in the NCAA, which requires a whole different attitude when it comes to building up these kids to go to the pros.

My suggestion? Buy out, or set up some sort of agreement with the UFL to turn it into the minor league for the NFL and farm players out from there, in addition to the regular draft as we know it today.

He's still too short to pass over the middle in the NFL.

The UFL becoming the NFL's development league would be interesting. Not sure everyone would go for it though.

Same height as Kyler. Difference is that Kyler has a cannon arm and can roll out to do an off-platform throw.
Forcing edge rushers to embarrass themselves is practically a requirement to be a short QB not named Brees.
Russ did it, Kyler does it, even Baker in his moments does it.

Think about it, you get to have your cake and eat it too with expansion teams by just having them be farm teams for more successful franchises, but you can plop them in places where a full on pro-team probably wouldn't be worth it. SLC, St. Louis, etc.

That's a sweet 1998 Slim Shady costume that Joe Burrow is doing for Halloween. Maybe a little early.

The NFL would love it. I see the friction coming from the UFL.

Trevor Lawrence getting ready for the game tonight:

The jags are getting their asses handed to them. They succeeded in a QB sneak, then he throws an INT immediately afterwards. This Jags team is gonna go nowhere if they keep doing this kind of shit

EDIT: 3-34. I wonder if there is a mercy rule in the nfl

Don't they only exist as they do right now because the XFL and USFL individually couldn't bring enough viewership to keep their leagues afloat? I honestly don't know how the UFL faired this year, mostly because I heard absolutely nobody talking about it during their maiden season lmao. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that has to do with the fact that other than a few star players that are likely to get signed to an NFL team, most people don't give a shit because the vast majority of these players and teams are irrelevant in the conversation about Football.

They could benefit greatly from an official association with the NFL, while still keeping the season in the spring, like a pre-pre-season, maybe even throw in a few exhibition games between NFL and UFL teams to really sell people on watching it.

Don't be surprised if Gooddell rolls up to them with this kind of offer and a wherlbarrow full of cash in a year or two if their ratings improve slightly.

How about Trevor Lawrence, going from most hyped qb prospect to throwing a int to a dude who was legally dead. To say this dudes career had been a disappointment is an understatement.

The Bills game became Trubisky vs Mac Jones. Mac Jones still looks like Mac Jones. Austin Eckler got taken out of the Commies-Bengals game due to a concussion
