The Mary Sue is butt-hurt that Wonder Woman got nothing and "male-centered" Logan got some Oscar nods, because fuck X-23 and Dafne Keen's performance that everyone fell in love with, right?

X2 is the secondary protagonist and the movie kickstarts into gear because of her. She's also Mexican and not white like Wonder Woman is, so I'm shocked they forgot about this. There's a reason why Fox is considering making a X23 movie after Logan was such a huge hit.

But yeah, fuck a 11 year old girl who can slice members of the military heads off and kick them like soccer balls.

Now that Disney is getting X-Men back,it's kinda hard to tell whether we will ever see this version of X-23 again.

If Disney are smart they will just let Buena Vista distribute and leave it be.

At this point it would be really awkward to try and introduce mutants into the MCU, at least as an already established concept. So maybe they will keep the X-Men separate except for a few that can easily by hand waved into MCU proper without explicitly calling them mutants (ie Scarlet Witch and Quicksliver).

Since Feige said that things will be different post Infinity War, I'd imagine there'll be some sort of soft reboot to accomodate the recasting of everyone whose contract expired and be able to reintroduce all the characters they got the rights back for.

Isn't Logan basically Children of men/Shane/Unforgiven but with mutants while Wonder Woman is Captain America the First Avenger but with a woman and in WW1 instead of WW2?I mean Logan has far better background material to mine for ideas and concepts than Wonder Woman so it would make more sense for it to get nominations.
The Oscars and awards shows almost always reward or at least recognise angsty depressed down to earth stuff its kind of a cliche in itself. What do they think Oscar bait is supposed to mean?Or do they want to reward WW just because it has a female lead and nothing else?

Didn't they already retcon Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in Age Of Ultron by making them artificially created HYDRA super soldiers instead of mutants?

Yeah, that's what I meant by easily hand waved. You could probably bring in some of the more popular X-Men without calling them mutants by going down the Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver route, but I don't think you could bring in the entire mutant concept without massive changes.

Ugh that's so transphobic. Why should "natural" mutants be privileged more than their artificially created brethren?

It seems like you just can't admire the founding father's accomplishments any more. Yes, it was wrong to keep slaves, but now that's all people will talk about. As my sister said, that while we should acknowledge that, we shouldn't let it cancel out the good they did.

Also, they still won't shut-up about Black Panther. It's like they can't go two days without an article.
