Well, Spider-Gwen is popular on her own, but I reckon that's more to do with Spider-Man stuff being very popular in general and her having a cool design.
Last I checked, she has a moderate fan base in the form of cosplayers and fan art, but she never expanded much outside of that never translated into actual comic sales and the merch sales were kind of a flash in the pan.

In my response (under a different name), I suggested that the author has a debate with Diversity & Comics about the subject (we all know he'd rip her appart). Let's see if she takes him up on it.

Bit off-topic, but since you mention D&C I’ve wondered for a while: how influential is he exactly? He never shows his face and offers a name I can only assume is fake, but he talks a lot about having contacts in the comics industry including people he doesn’t necessarily agree with. Seeing as he lives in NYC I can believe this, and the way comic artists talk about him seems to suggest some kind of familiarity with him. Is he really known inside comics or is he just exaggerating his reach?

The main problem with her character is that she exists outside the main continuity, so if you don't read her comic or had zero interest in Spiderverse, chances are you've never actually read anything she's in. It's the same problem the old Spider-Girl comic had once the MC2 line died, the stories are so insular even by comic standards it isn't likely to draw in new readers.

At least 100 years ago the provisional armed wymins faction of MRAdom, The Honeybadgers, got thrown out of an exposition for being goobergrabers, which was covered in detail by the Mary Sue.

They are suing the Mary Sue because they are not goobergrabbers but unhinged women MRAs.

The trail should have happened by now (mid Nov) but I cant find any mention. Anyone have an update?

One of The Honeybadgers said they won but then took it back. There are posts about it on their Patreon but I'm not paying $5 for that. They either got hit with another court delay or they won and are just giving their supporters the first look. If The Mary Sue won I think someone would've said something by now.

I wonder if the original intent was to bring back the original Gwen and turn her into a superhero...It'd make her death moot, but by know it's a cliche to bring back dead characters.

Diversity & Comics just came up with the best description of TMS: "It's a website for cunts. A website for the perpentually offended. It's a website for women who will definately never have kids or their kids will be definately messed up. It's a miserable cunt website."

I can't help but look at that article and laugh a little now that we know Roy Moore won't be doing any destroying for the time being...

If you subscribe to a worldview that sees guns as awful, loathes the military complex, and associates nationalism as a gateway to Nazism you should never be allowed near a property that's all about nationalism, the military and guns. Especially when you're openly atagonistic about that to the fans. That's not neo-Nazi propaganda. That's common sense. Might as well ask Mike Pence for Will & Grace episode ideas.

That and my understanding is in the recent Joe comics it was stated that this brand of Joe is not a a real American hero, but some sorta hero of the world. Also isn't the writer a literal self professed socialist who wants a revoultion in the US now or some shit?

Also didn't IDW also do that horrible Flintstones edgelord run? Where Fred and Barny had PTSD and it talked about how they were being sent off to a far away land to genocide natives or some shit for their not oil? Remember when everything didn't have to be so topical, political, and soap boxey? When the story or product was focused on first in terms of being not half shit, then if it was decent they might try to slip in a message?

Sorry I am wrong am retarded.

DC did The Flintstones comic which I thought had some good moments. Though it got preachier later on.

The character originally showed up in a series called Spiderverse, which was about the Spider-Men of the multiverse teaming up to defeat someone who wanted destroy the "web of life" or something. She was a throwaway character who got really popular which is how she get her own book. Marvel should have put her in the 616 universe after Secret Wars like they did with ultimate spider-man.

Have you guys noticed how TMS seems to have this worship of Carrie Fisher? Kind of like how Neo-Conservatives worship their idealized version of Ronald Reagan.

That's probably the least fucked up thing about TMS. Carrie Fisher was pretty awesome tbh.
