The SJWs and feminists did get their claws into Hannibal and wrecked it.
They did a little bit but a lesbian having awkward sex with a bisexual(?) man solely to try and get pregnant for plot reasons scared most of them off. Of course before that they were all about that Hannigram buttsex, though given what SJWs think of Killing Stalking I wonder if they'd be as into it if the show came out now.

The best part is the incident that scared them off happened before hannigram became 100%, show confirmed, word of God canon too.

... Doesn't IT lay eggs? Are they purposefully erasing this ~strong gay illegal immigrant trans man~ in order to fit their own cishet white colonial agenda?

So there's been some dustup in the GI Joe fandom over IDW Joe writer Aubrey Sitterson being a bit of a jackass. Naturally, The Mary Sue has to weigh in:

IDW Actually Considering Taking Action Against Writer ... Based on the Whims of Right-Wing Harassers

The TL;DR is that Aubrey Sitterson a) stated on Twitter than anyone who is not a New Yorker isn't really mourning 9/11, b) changed an established GI Joe character into a fat black woman for ... some reason, and c) has a history of accusing people of being racists, bigots and/or Trump supporters. His comics have, up to this point, been received with a heartfelt "meh" by the GI Joe fandom. After the 9/11 thing, though, a leading Joe fansite announced that they wouldn't advertise IDW products until Sitterson was let go from the book, and gave a statement to BleedingCool to that effect.

The Mary Sue said:
However, as is made clear by a statement Dizard made to Bleeding Cool, this has less to do with the “offensive” nature of Sitterson’s tweet, and more to do with the fact that this particular site has had it in for Sitterson forever, because he dares to *gasp* not have white, male, and straight be the default, and thus is “disrespectful” to G.I. Joe, its characters, and its fans.

Because being a woman, or a person of color, or a member of the LGBTQIA community is inherently disrespectful?

This led to fans who fetishize the military, while at the same time pointing out that Sitterson’s statements make him unworthy to write for IDW/Hasbro properties, “because at the end of the day, these are still children’s products” (Oh no! The children that we’re trying to indoctrinate into loving guns and war are going to be indoctrinated by this guy who believes that people other than white, cis, straight males exist!), bombarding both Sitterson and IDW to receive a crapton of hateful comments, chastising him for his views.

I'm sensing that the person writing this article knows pretty much nothing about GI Joe. Diversity hasn't been a problem in the team since ... ever.

Anyway, IDW issued a statement about not agreeing with what Sitterson said, and the Mary Sue's writer is terribly torn up about it. I guess this means the terrorists win. The rest of the article devolves into the author angsting about being in New York on 9/11 and claims that those who weren't are "taking part in the grief out of some kind of national obligation."

This ought to be interesting to follow. GI Joe fans are serious about their autism.

Seriously. I remember watching the cartoon and seeing a handful of awesome women like Lady Jaye, Scarlett, and the Baroness kicking ass, as well as a bunch of black, Asian, hispanic, and Native American Joes. For fuck's sake - the comic, the characters, and the bios of the action figures were almost all handled by Larry Hama, a Japanese man and a former Army veteran.

Once again, the Mary Sue demonstrates that they know jack shit and will complain for the sake of complaining

That's what baffled me when I saw this initial shitstorm brewing up. Even in the first run of the 1982 Joe figures, which gave you eight Joes, you had a crazy amount of diversity for a "racist, sexist" franchise: Stalker is black and one of only two E-5s in the group, Zap is a Hispanic combat engineer, Flash the tech guy is Italian, Scarlett the intelligence agent is a TRUE AND HONEST woman, and Snake-Eyes--the deadliest guy in the group--is a disabled mute burn victim with honest-to-god PTSD. Later on you get Spirit (Pueblo), Airborne (Navajo), Torpedo (Hawaiian), Doc (black), Storm-Shadow (Japanese), Quick-Kick (Korean) ... Plus Lady Jaye, Jinx, Cover Girl, and Firewall, all of the female persuasion.

Oh, and 90% of the bad guys are white males with a distinctly Nazi-esque theme. You'd think the Mary Sue would be on board with that, but ... guns and soldiers, ewww.

Yeah, GI Joe has been pretty diverse from the very beginning. I used to read the old Marvel and 2000s-era indie comics and about the only minority they didn't include (at least openly) was LGBT for obvious reasons.

They are all shallow, surface-level bitches.

I was going to make a joke that maybe the author is a 60 year old who only knows the original GI Joe.
But looking it up it seems like they introduced a black guy pretty early on.

If you want to see how bad Sitterson's work on GI Joe is, here is a go through of one of them.

This ought to be interesting to follow. GI Joe fans are serious about their autism.

IDW has taken a fair amount of shit from autistic fans. MLP fans are the next obvious example. They had a beef with a writer named Ted Anderson who put a cuteosphere/dragondicks OC into the comic and otherwise spouted SJW shit.

You'd think a comics company that mainly caters to insanely autistic fandoms would have learned from being burned in the past to tell their artists/writers to basically STFU.

Oh, Jebus. I'll try to keep this short because my GI Joe spergery is threatening to spill over, but the Mary Sue is defending a writer who, by their own rules, dedicated 20 pages to the public humiliation of a mute disabled man. Ableism of the highest order. J'ACCUSE!

Seriously, though, that comic is wrong on multiple levels. Snake-Eyes is a master martial partially because he lost everything--family, home, possibly sanity--and threw himself into his training. Later on he even lost his voice, face, and real name. He's honed himself into a perfect fighter because he's a damaged weirdo. Quick-Kick on the other hand is supposed to be a Swiss Army Knife type of fighter, who studied multiple disciplines. He comes from a loving background where he himself knew a little of what it was like to be an outsider (the short ethnic kid) and got into martial arts as a way of overcoming that. Their approaches are fundamentally different and correspond to their characters and backstories, which do not match up at all with what Aubrey Sitterson is ... Hang on a minute. *rates self Autistic*

Holy crap, I never even heard of that dustup. "lol teehee misandry!!" I kinda feel bad for IDW now.

Somehow I get the feeling that if a writer if something TMS likes autistically tweeted some like "if you don't live in charlottesville you can't truly grieve over Charlottesville" they'd have a new target for months of autistic screeching and outrage.

Don't worry, we all have those kinds of moments and I don't blame you. Since Snake Eyes is a WHHHHIIIIITTTTEEE MAAALLLE, of course he had to be knocked down for being great something that was out of his lane.

I decided to check out the comment section of the article and of course, the people who are making good points are ignored, no one wants to see the Diversity & Comics video about the subject someone left, calling anyone who doesn't follow the narrative alt-right, but thankfully, even the regular posters agreed that Sitterson was a dick.

We all know that Neo Yokio is going to be crap, but according to the killjoys at TMS, the show is transphobic for having a Ranma 1/2-like scene where a guy turns into a girl and "appropriating" anime themes and gags. Even if they make a good point on things, they still annoy you about it.
