Not their smartest move on hindsight, Josh is pretty much the only SJW media figure with any actual talent producting the sort of work they want to see outside of Rebecca sugar. Without him they're fucked

They'd throw her under the bus without a second thought too if she did something to their precious space lesbians they don't approve of. And it also gives them more opportunities to bitch about a lack of media they approve of. Win-win for that crowd.

LOL. Sugar is a Jewish bisexual woman who dated a black man for several years, working on a show where the VO cast is 90% non-white and/or female. She's one of the few people bulletproof against this kind of shit.
