There’s nothing groundbreaking here, but when so much of society seems incapable of understanding the basic meaning of the word feminism, it’s great to hear someone bluntly point out that the real feminism of something is in being “for everyone.”
Hell, there are even some villains I sympathize with, not because I find the characters attractive, but because different people have different viewpoints and opinions.Still watching Jessica Jones, so I still stiffed through it.
Honestly, I think OP wrote this because she is a fan of Kilgrave because it's David Tenant, and feels guilty so she wrote this rambling article. The thing that really pissed me off is that she compares Hannibal to the likes of Edward Cullen and Christian Grey. Yeah, they're all sociopaths, but at least Hannibal is actually written as one (plus he's a great cook).
I love Hannibal. I love Kilgrave. Not because they are attractive, but I love a good villain. I wonder if being a fan and having a crush on female villains is "problematic" because they pull a lot of the same shit that male villains do.

I'll go even further and say the author and people like her are absolutely guilty of sympathizing with attractive male villains for that reason and is basically trollshielding for it. I don't think they'd feel the same about female villains, not only because muh Feminism, but also because they wouldn't give a shit about them because they can't jill to them thus they wouldn't feel the need to write pointless articles pretending they aren't guilty of exactly the same shit they're condemning.
Also, who the fuck woobies Hannibal? Last I checked the fandom was well aware he's a terrible person.

Hannibal Lecter is a really easy villain to feel sympathy for. Despite the cannibalism, he's usually polite, erudite, and capable of incredible charm. Worse, you can forgive a lot of crimes since he, in his own words "prefers to eat the rude". Also, some of his enemies are even worse than him and lack any charm themselves, so he's easy to like despite being a monster himself.

Tumblr. It's always tumblr.
That's if they're not bitching about the "patriarchy makes all proactive women the bad guys!" trope.Nah, they tend to justify female villains because female characters.
"How to Get a Girlfriend", to me seems like a tongue-in-cheek look at little boys view love and relationships. Kind of like "Kids Say the Darndest Things" in book form. But to this writer, this book and the Peanuts Movie are pushing "heteronormativity" on kids. How dare her son enjoy the idea of opposite sex romantic relationships and the guy getting the girl at the end.
It's the "get 'em while they're young" philosophy SJWs inherited from religious and nationalist zealots. The patriarchy is brainwashing our fragile, malleable children and we need to brainwash them back.It annoys the crap out of me how much they over analyze kids movies.
How come they don't give the same treatment towards movies for adults? Oh right...
I wonder what's going to happen to her son if he becomes CIShet and likes pretty girls. It's the "get 'em while they're young" philosophy SJWs inherited from religious and nationalist zealots. The patriarchy is brainwashing our fragile, malleable children and we need to brainwash them back.
