How can Hyrule Warriors, which had an overwhelmingly female cast, be misogynistic by adding another female character?
Because one of the female characters looks too sexy or too cute, not fitting what the mold is for The Mary Sue. A group @Yaoi Huntress Earth brought up in another thread didn't like Linkle because of how she looked with thigh high boots and dual crossbows, adding to the fact that there should be less of some cute mage character and more of some tough warrior character. In other words, they just want a character to fit their specific mold. Anything not part of that may as well be deemed bad.

"I mean, I guess that sort of trolling will work pretty well on sexist guys who think that feminists hate boobs and want to cover up every boob in every video game. Which does seem to be what everyone thinks feminism is all about."

Ever stop to wonder about WHY people think that's what feminism is all about or does self-reflection take away too much time from fighting that patriarchy?

It's strange the amount of disgust sjw have for the female body. If I had to guess I'd say it's pure sour grapes. Most of them are not conventionally attractive, and have consoled themselves by deciding that attractiveness is a bad thing and those who have it are bad people who should live in shame. It's not so different from a stupid person embracing anti-intellectualism.

And yet their big thing this year was #freethenipple. Note: not save Yazdi women from ISIS, not protect women from Boko Haram, hell not even support global literacy for unprivileged women, but the idea that women should parade around without their shirts and not get stared at.

Are we sure that feminism isn't a symptom of schizophrenia?

Well, they should be able to do it without getting arrested. Expecting something that specifically evolved to be looked at not to be looked at is just full bore retarded though.

Maybe if you screamed about it less, then they wouldn't think of feminism that way.

Linkle's not a Mary Sue.

I feel like this and the body positivity thing intersect; they want more representation for less conventional bodies, but the right kind of unconventional, usually fat and with a brightly colored undercut.

Have they talked about 'Overweight Haters Ltd' yet? Apparently some unfunny twats have been handing out cards to fat people on the London Underground telling them to lose weight.

Handing out cards is so fucking autistic. It reminds me of those "you triggered me" cards where you call someone a shitlord by handing them a card.

I've generally never heard it used in any way other than a racist one - referring to "uppity blacks" who think that they're equal to whites, for example.

I've never in my life associated the word with racism. It's always just been a synonym for "arrogant" to me. Maybe I've just never noticed. Admittedly I can't remember ever using the word myself. It does sound kind of... "old-fashioned", I suppose. Though the dictionary definition shows no explicit references to racism with the possible exception of it being used in regards to social hierarchy, which is a broad category that holds far more to it than just race.

It could be a location thing and the word holds more implication in some areas more than others. It's still a dumb word that nobody uses anymore and TMS's writers are so fucking stupid I imagine it would be very easy to convince them that any word was inherently racist in nature if they though it could further their own agenda.

On topic however, and this might just be me, but lately I've been getting the vibe that a lot of journalists and other media outlets (TMS included, of course) seem themselves to preach vehemently against women who decide they want to have kids. Even the concept seems to bother them way too much. Remember all of the bullshit spewed about the high heels scene in Jurassic World last summer? There was so much "sexism" these people saw in that movie that wasn't there.

I'm also amused by the irony present in a media outlet scolding internet trolls for "policing women's bodies". Check your fucking privilege.

The only time I heard the word uppity was in reference to the Mr. Men character Mr. Uppity, who was a rich bastard.
