These people will talk all day about how they want diversity in media and how we need more representation than "straight white guys", but the moment you have a piece of media that does show a bit of diversity- it's never good enough and they have to whine endlessly about all the things they think are wrong with it. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation with these people.

Even they don't seem to know what they want......

Oh they know what they want. For white men to be banished from all media. SJW can barely tolerate them in real life after all.

There's a petition out, at least I've seen it on tumblr, about how all publishing houses should not print anything by men next year, so women can finally have their chance to shine. There's a claim that publishing houses are discriminating of women.

Now, this is the funny part, the publishing industry has a majority female presence in the editorial side, i.e. those who pick which books get picked up. So the people who are supposedly discriminating against women, are women.

Women needing a chance to shine in literature? Women dominate literature like black people dominate basketball. Who the fuck could be stupid enough to think this?

Once could turn this on them by accusing them of racism for denying male POCs of their voices.

Did they miss the Twilight, 50 Shades of Gray, and Harry Potter crazes? These were all written by women and were popular as all Hell.

Also what about Agatha Christie, one of the most prolific authors of all time?

There's also:
Enid Blyton
The Brontes
Jane Austen
Joan Collins (Considerably more low brow but she still counts!)

Fucking Frankenstein was written by Mary Shelly when she was 17 years old. People still love Frankenstein. The Mary Sue is retarded

Ayn Rand is dead but still has legions of mostly men who worship her every word. Or does she lose her women status because she believed everyone should shut the fuck up and work hard?

Now this is off topic now, as I don't know if TMS has published anything on it, but apparently the idea was started due to this Guardian article. Though I'd bet they'd be happy about the idea.

Basically, women may be published like crazy, but they're not winning all the awards, therefore sexism.

Of course it's from a Guardian article.

It's because internalized misogyny, obvs.

Importing anime tiddies is anti-feminist, guys.

Quote from the article-
"I mean, I guess that sort of trolling will work pretty well on sexist guys who think that feminists hate boobs and want to cover up every boob in every video game. Which does seem to be what everyone thinks feminism is all about."

Ever stop to wonder about WHY people think that's what feminism is all about or does self-reflection take away too much time from fighting that patriarchy?

She's still a prominent woman writer- though I personally think her books & ideology sucked.

Also, Virginia Woolf, Shirley Jackson, Toni Morrison, Jodi Picoult, Octavia Butler, Tananarive Due.

People care WAY too much about this Linkle nonsense.

What a poorly researched piece, people who know nothing about fighting games only know about DOA? Because of gratuitous boobs? Uh, I'm willing to bet if I take a straw poll in the street, far far more people who "know nothing of fighting games" will have heard of, oh, I don't know, Mortal Kombat? than DOA..... and I know of no fighting game I've ever played that deliberately "zooms in" on the female characters in a way it doesn't do to male ones.....

How can Hyrule Warriors, which had an overwhelmingly female cast, be misogynistic by adding another female character?

Speaking of Twilight, wasn't it Anne Rice who pretty much popularized the whole "vampire as tortured, brooding, anti-hero" mythos?
Also, there's a very well-regarded gothic short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman called "The Yellow Wallpaper" which went was a horror story told from the perspective of a house-bound wife, but I guess... ya know... whatever.
