ah so these are terese nielson lands?

i assume this is less of a go at wizzards (who as far as im aware have bent the knee to appeasing these people at every turn) and more of a go at terese whos a lesbian,

I assume shes not a big fan of the girl dick?

If I'm remember correctly she refused to apologize for something vaguely terfy her wife/gf (I'm not sure if she's married to the lady right off) said.

seems like she and her wife both retweeted and liked a bunch of trump shite on twitter

que people saying they are nazis, and alterers offering to scrub her name off cards and write leftie shit on them

but every article i can find is from April.

so this sped has just decided to rock up with a bunch of shit scrawled on their cards from something that happened months ago

Im going to cast my vote for fishing for attention

Can’t say I’m surprised he’d pull this. He got lucky and won one big event and then all of a sudden people are praising him. He goes to another event and loses, which probably set off a panic because he thrives on the attention. He got jealous of Gerry Thompson gaining popularity for blocking out the art of force of will for people during the summer and sperged out because he became a center of attention for the community.

The problem with the community is they’re driving out the people who are tired of the pandering and now it’s been reduced to mostly dangerhairs, bugmen and troons.
 
There was a thread about this on the MtG subreddit that went about as well as you'd expect - it was pinned for maybe six hours or so but is now unpinned and locked because the comments section turned into a flaming dumpster fire.

That said, troons and attention-seeking behavior go together like Milo and student protestors, so I'd be more shocked if he just showed up and played like a normal person without trying to engage in any stunts. I doubt this is a big political thing on WotC's part since they let one player give a pro-Hong Kong speech on camera at the last big Magic tournament, so it's probably that they're protecting Neilson or something (though she hasn't done art for them in a while...).
 
Autumn is the perfect example of how shit the pro magic scene has become the last few years. I have stopped playing, and supporting WOTC due to their absurd political infusion into the game I love. The constant whining about inclusion and women being somehow oppressed in the community is horseshit. Women have always been included, just greatly outnumbered. WOTC has given up long ago on the vast majority of it's players, the ones that made the game what it is today. I'm ok with playing with old cards and having fun like you're supposed to, but I'm not going to buy any new cards, especially since they will turn into a pringle chip shape in a day or two.

Wizards has inserted all sorts of alphabet people into its storyline, made several planeswalkers (the face of the game) homosexuals, moved heaven and earth to show women and non binary people on streams and supported them in their partner programs

Wizards already bent the knee and cucked out

so instead your making targeted statement on terese? some 50 something year old lesbian artist who hasnt made artwork for magic for several years who spends most of her time sitting around liking maga tweets and selling playmats of her art from 20 years ago?

though the best thing about this whle thing was someone in the subreddit saying that terfs (women who dont think men are women) have stolen and subverted feminism in order to harrass troons (men who think they are women)
 
WotC's hypocrisy:

Mildly criticize a cosplay thot on youtube for shamelessly begging for donations > LIFETIME BAN

Repeatedly call a lesbian a Nazi on Twitter and marking cards specifically so that you can direct more harassment towards her at a sanctioned tournament > *crickets*


Needless to say, the world will be a much better place when this ugly tranny freak hangs himself.

I can't speak for other MTG players, but the card shop I used to frequent a few years ago (before I moved a few states away) had a healthy amount of gay (like me) and women players, and nobody gave a shit. The only people who were given a hard time were the assholes who started drama or acted like whiny shits, ruining the vibe for everyone else trying to play and have fun. The only arena we were lacking in diversity was black people, but given that this was the Deep South, it was more shocking to see so many Asians making up for it at my former store.

We have an fair bit of black fellas at our shop, most of em play Yugioh it seems like. 1-2 play the Transformers CCG, and 1-2 that plays Magic. I think it's kind of like why a lot black dude like DBZ and stuff, in that they just grew up watching it as kids so they end up draw more towards it instead of M:tG or another game.

There is actual real diversity in the CCG community as a whole, they just aren't all giving WotC money so lets make the fairly normal white magic spergs feel like shit because the game doesn't have the precious demographics you want.

Also does anybody else remember the rumors that a lot of people threw their games to Autumn to get them to the end of the MC tourney? From what I know magic players, no mofo is gonna throw a game just so a troon can get ahead without somebody offering them something or threatening them. The fact that nobody there investigated the rumors speaks volumes to me.

Makes me happy that almost everybody at my shop comes off as chill, and even the annoying ones are just mildly annoying at worst and still fairly okay most the time. My fave is the one guy who rages about a card needing to be banned every time he looses to it, even if he still ends up winning the match. Like dude, even if they are getting you about half the time just because you don't like how they won don't mean that shit needs to get the axe. It's like a different card every 2 weeks too it seems like. :D
 
I will also say, I've never met a Yugioh, Dragon Ball, or Pokemon player locally who ever tried to steal from a store or rip another player off. Magic dudes? Not gonna powerlevel into the details but I have seen Magic dudes pull some heinous shit.

Funny, it's Yugioh players around here that have that type of reputation. Not the black dudes either, it's the white guys.

Isn't the whole CCG industry more or less based on increasingly scummy ways of separating autists from huge amounts of money?

I think this is more about scummy players than scummy companies.

I still think Pioneer was them throwing a bone to retailers of singles after wrecking the Modern format with the whole combination of Hogaak/Urza. Plus it's a good way to get rid of all them decent cards from previous standards that weren't good enough for other eternal formats.

Yeah, I'm not gonna claim the basic CCG business model isn't kinda shitty -- it was loot box gambling years before "loot" and "box" were ever two words anybody strung together -- but greedy little ripoff shits take it way beyond anything you could blame on the game or the people who make it.
 
Magic was going downhill for quite a while before incidents like WOTC permabanning people who said mean words in ways completely disconnected from the hobby, with shittier cardstock (a problem WOTC didn't fix until years after widespread complaints), bigger and bigger rule issues, open favoritism in the pro community and widespread distribution issues just to name a few.

The culture warriors arriving wasn't what killed it, they just indicated the cancer entering a terminal phase.
