Stuff like retailers of singles knowing a card is going to get banned so they can try to offload them ahead of time. It's silly but there is a whole lot of money tied up in the secondary market of the game. Higher end cards are probably used for money laundering and such from the rumors I've heard, kinda like art collecting but smaller.

I've heard the rumors about money laundering before. Probably safer than using gift cards, since the police watch out for those but likely not elfgame rares.

Big plot reveal for the book "The Wildered Quest" about the new set Throne of Eldraine is that Will and Rowan Kenrith discover this black lady wasn't really their biological mom.

So, these two prime Aryan specimens thought for a second this black lady was their mom when they have two obviously mixed race siblings and this was the main reveal at the end? Holy shit, this isn't even woke this is just bad writing.

I really hope that the book includes plenty of Garruk being a god damned Knight of Cerberus.

He's so far out of his comfort zone, it's hilarious!

Planeswalkers are fucking stupid

Planeswalkers are fucking stupid

The game as a whole is overinflated and stupid, every set there is some dumb ass mechanic added on a bunch of cards but only one or two cards will have an explanation of what it actually does.

Let’s take my made up example for the uninitiated say they added something called Bounce

Bounce: when this card enters the field chose one permanent you control pay X and a colour (usually the same cost of the creature or card you’ve just played) and return it to your hand if it is the same converted mana cost.

Subject to great abuse I know but it’s made up and you would only find a break down either on wizards website or a couple cards that don’t have a great amount of flavour text. Say a legendary creature had this on its card then it would simply have Bounce plus the cost but no explanation piled on with all its other effects.

Stale game is stale and too large to rebuild from the ground up which is why it has so many formats also pic related

1. I’m talking about planeswalkers being fucking stupid in lore, not anything about the game

2. You literally have to not have an internet connection, have a reference card which explains the ability, no card with reminder text and not have a local store with players to not learn new keyword abilities. While the game is a bit too large and many of the new keyword abilities and card designs are rather uninspired, you picked what is literally one of the least important “isssues” with current magic and it’s design.

Ok reddit here is how your post should have looked

The lore for planes walkers is stupid.

*pushes up glasses*
*cracks knuckles*
*turns on nasal voice*

Well, achtually, I was not shaying zhe planeswahker lore was stupid. You are mishrepresenting my worhds. I was instead shaying that the planeswalkers themselves are stuhpid. If you had a higher intellect you wood have understood this. Obviously you come from shome bigoted shit-hole like /TG/, which think of themselves ash better tahn is shuperior reddit users just becauhse we are mainstream. Well guess what, racist, our pwatform is mainstream because of hits higher standards and lack of menthally deficient subjects shuch as yourshelf. Now if you exshuse me, I have an MLP subreddit to moderate

That was the same mindset of the redesign and also the redesign of the redesign.

It's nearly impossible to have a CCG that's friendly towards new players while also keeping the old neckbeards interested in it. Wizards...has kinda done fairly well at blending the two.

RIP my dear friend Damage on the Stack.

All I know about Magic the Gathering is that I walked into a hobby shop once to get out of the summer heat and there was a massive game going on with multiple tables full and the place reeked to high heaven.

I have personally seen at least one incident at a FLGS where a... 'gentleman' was told to either leave or he would be given an impromptu bath by the staff and regulars.

This pleases me, to be honest. I know some of the venues don't have great air conditioning and circulation, but there's no excuse for smelling like a rancid heap of butter left out in the Mississippi sun at high noon.

We had a big fat fella that reeked of literal shit at ours, but he goes to a different place now thankfully. Most of my place is just random guys that happen to have the spare cash for cards or borrow from a buddy and are all fairly chill. Though some do get a bit salty.

Not to say we haven't had our fair share of shit-head around either, but for the most part it's just sperging over rules and stuff like that.

Yeah but Affinity is still silly busted even without damage on the stack.

Edit : Just for the record, it is a good thing damage isn't on the stack anymore. Do we wanna live in the world with Walking Ballista and Damage on the Stack?

It was, funny thing is now affinity doesn't even run affinity cards. Just a few things with metalcraft.

I'm not totally opposed to the ballista scenario, the thing is already a terror to deal with if it gets 3 or 4 counters on it.
