Agreed. But I just don't want my defence of "Jeremy didn't deserve to get hit" to be misinterpreted by some to be "Jeremy is my fucking hero and I wanna rim him" or something. He is entertaining. He is an ass. He is one of those you side eye heavily, but he didn't deserve this shit.

Relax, man. It's all cool. I think despite some mild sperging and shitflinging most of us are on the same page.

Even people who enjoy Jeremy's content when he isn't being a complete sped (he does have some decent comedic timing when he isn't shoving his own foot in his throat to competition standards), Jeremy has a history of doing idiotic shit like this. You learn to just facepalm and watch where the rest of the chips fall. Good example of where Crackas is coming from though.

another 15 minute whinefest.
this one's basically just him Sargoning an article about himself.

Jeremy always overplays his hand. You'd think a magic player of all people would know to keep things to himself until he's got something good.

Agreed. Dude needs to STFU about this and let the lawyers do the talking. The more Jeremy spergs about this, the less sympathetic he looks and the more he comes off looking like a sped. If this does go all the way to court, how sympathetic you look to a jury can mean the difference between winning and losing a case.

What damages does he expect to be awarded from this? I mean he seems fine and said he was fine. Is he gonna claim emotional/psychological damages and loss of enjoyment of life/revenue? That would be pretty great. I just don't get why he doesn't just get a restraining order (something I would never want against me) and be done with it. Other than that his very public campaign against the guy probably won't help him in court, definitely not civil court.

One thing about Jeremy is that while he always overextends like a tard, there is an upside to it.

I first noticed it when Geth brought it up.

His doing so, without exception draws in people even more psychotic and autistic than he is to try to oppose him. While on one angle this means that, without exception, Jeremy winds up overstaying his welcome, using up any goodwill he may have had, pissing off centrists, and being a sensationalist idiot, it also means that he is, in essence, a sort of one-man lolcow catch-and-release system; in drawing aggro countless lolcow and lolcalves line up to try to get hits in on the idiot, only to look like bigger douchebags than Jeremy himself (quite a feat). If I didn't know better, I'd say he does it on purpose to feed the likes of us (Jeremy sure as shit isn't that clever though).

So you're saying by being a walking fist-magnet he's sucking up punches relatively normal people would otherwise be getting.

I doubt it. If there was some spicy camera footage of dude chimping out on Jeremy's face, yeah, but right now there's nothing to really capture anyone's attention.

That store in the OP that was going to have to stop hosting MtG tournies because of the stupid background checks? Went out of business, largely due to it...

RIP IN PEACE

Unfortunately not an uncommon outcome. Our FLGS has openly told us that profits are at an all-time low due to WoTC and Games Workshops awful business practices driving people away from the hobbies.

The manager said, word for word: "The only things actually making money right now are Pathfinder, X-Wing, and those old WW2 games the regulars play. Everything else, we're just breaking even at best"

There's only been minor developments recently, but what has come up is interesting.

A lot of bigger outlets are picking up on the story now, including Campus Reform and a few others. Fittingly now that it's starting to come closer to widespread coverage, support of Loter is rapidly dropping off, and with it, the usual shrieking idiots that were arguing that assaulting Hamblyburger Helper was a good thing.

Gencon released an official statement condemning violence, and Jeremy admitted to being a sperg on that one and said ultimately Gencon isn't at fault. There is some evidence to suggest Jeremy may have taken more damage than expected in the attack, so it's possible that in suffering severe head trauma, Jeremy's learned something from this experience (or suffered additional brain damage; either is funny).

Quinnepac University appears to have ended their relationship with Matt Loter, and as evidence mounts we may be seeing a situation where this poor schmuck basically accidentally his entire life and career for the sake of punching an Autistic sped.

TL;DR: :story:

How many more self-immolations will there be by anti-GG spergs still enraged that they somehow lost GG?

At this point I think they see it as Autistic martyrdom.

I suppose given the shitstorm that was GamerGate, none of this should be that surprising. And yet I'm still blown away that all this shit is coming out of a fucking card game.

Same causes, same effects, and in many cases, same spergs.

Imagine something that combined the autism of D&D with the money-grubbing of Pokemon and you have Magic the Money Gathering, a happy merchant's dream franchise.

Self-immolation indeed. All this juicer cuck had to do was play it cool, not act like a complete sped online, or implicate himself and dollars to donuts this would have all blown over. Hambly's a sperglord and had (powerword, had) no case, since it was a dumbass bar fight, the bar wasn't cooperating, and he and his only witnesses were drunk. Everything else was hearsay, what Loter did was a misdemeanor anyway, and any prosecutor across whose desk the case came would laugh it straight into the trash can.
