I cringed. Is this on the back of a commander deck or something? Why is their pronoun preference more important than the facts that he uses fire magic or rides a kavu(indicating kicker synergy)? This is not the same game I played 20 years ago, wew

Nope just a card in the new set is all. It's pretty silly to go that far into detail with the pronouns.

Sorry, this has been long time coming (what a week past is long!) and I meant to have this done a long time ago, but then I became busy and forgot about it. The article is short, but I didn't want to reiterate what some of the articles already talk about, such as the one from Elizabeth Fein.

Autism in Magic the Gathering Community

Autism and Magic the Gathering is more common than people think. From players to judges, they make up a small portion of the player base yet are these like the ones we discuss here? No, I wouldn’t say so. They tend to be the more down to earth/ normies with the only thing setting them apart from normal players is what autism is and how it affects these people, such as problems with socializing with others. Magic gives these people a sense of structure…Of rules that they can hide behind and enjoy themselves in a game where they can be treated as equals since these rules don’t care what disability you have. You’ll even see just how helpful the game is with younger children with various types of autism, helping them with their issues and acting as a better role model of sorts to help them be a better part of society and make friends who forget they have autism.

Are all autistic players like this though? No, for every ten Smoochy’s you’ll find a Chris-chan, but does this damage their image in the scene? Of course not (Least not from what I’ve read). There’s more issues with trannies acting like entitled shits than an autistic player causing issues (I’ll do another short article on trannies in the Magic the Gathering scene sometime)

I think this is roughly how it breaks down in overlap:

The autistic bubble should closer inside the normie bubble given the ratio and the trannie bubble outside of the autistic one in terms of issues in the community.

So I'm starting my next article on the magic community, sorry it's taken me awhile, I just wanted to find all I could on this.

This one is about the trans community and transphobic people "fighting the good fight". There will be Christians/ Catholics, Neo-Nazi's, and legit ogres.

Strap yourselves in, I think this will be a good one.

Apparently Hasbro is getting fucked in the butt because Wizards is retarded

ETA: Late ratings possible due to old video, but it just popped up in my YouTubes

Man, I've been out of the scene since Innistrad and came back for Dominaria. I always had some autists at my LGS, but holy crap has the drama in this community compounded. Does this have something to do with the huge boom in players from 2011 when I stopped to 2014 that has burst? I've mostly been playing the MTG Arena beta and keeping my interaction with players to a minimum. But based on my experiences at my LGS, that Venn diagram is accurate to a tee.

I feel like The Professor is kind of an anti-lolcow almost. He's a self-proclaimed autist, but he's definitely done good for himself compared to the typical cow. Definitely a bit weird, still, but that's the 'tism. Also glad to see ol' Creepy Rudy here. /r/mtgfinance hates him. I'm sure there's some salt to be dug up. I'll archive anything I find. I haven't looked into UnsleevedMedia since I found out about the cosplay bullshit, but I can't tell who the bigger cow in the debacle is.

It honestly goes down to your play area, and even to the stores sometimes- some communities are awesome and supportive, others can be okay, exceptional, or complete shit. But that's from my experience with the community.

Edit for more opinions, because I found mine on the matter:

- RE bendy cards: I've found just shoving them in a toploader for a week or two helps in straightening them out. It's a Band-Aid to a larger problem (the actual cardstock quality), but for more mild collectors, it helps.

- I don't remember if anyone on here or the last thread mentioned the Reserve List (RL) at all, but I want to go on record and say it's fucking stupid. WotC basically fucked itself over a bit by blocking off cards because GOD FORBID, some weirdo's collection drops in price so Legacy/Vintage could be more accessible to players and old-ass cards could get some love today. (Sorry, end sperg- I just don't like the damn list.)

I got a goblin chainwhirler yesterday and some guy said "thats some hefty value for a more common rare". Nothing feels like it has value in a world where Jace is still 160.

Also, for how what you usually get, Masters 25 still has no business being 10 bucks to be honest.

Jace has gone down quite a bit since then he's only $90-$100 now from what I'm seeing on TCG player. I could def see a scummy lgs charging that much for him though.

Wizards will occasionally print enough supply to drive cost down, which is good. Master sets have been kind of a mess since the first one, which was $6 a pack instead of $10 and had almost double the value at rare compared to todayst Master sets. Even this Summer's draft set had better reprints than Master's 25.

Kk, I might of been looking at the jace foil. Either that or mtg goldfishes listing is whack. They also have lyra at 26 or so even though I'm pretty sure shes like 16-18.

My lgs is actually pretty rad, it's in a surprisingly socially-moderate city with a green/eco streak, and the owner is super chill.

Yeah, could be the masters 25 foil you saw cause it's $160. Hell I think I paid $110 for my Zendikar one from when it was kind of newish and modern was just created (It was banned from the get-go but saw plenty of play in legacy).

I've almost got an Abyss back in the fall but I passed on it and really regret it now. It was like $150 for an Italian one then probably 4x that now. Least I got a nice set of duals to work with so I can play legacy if I want. I ended up with a lot of Revised stuff stupid cheap in 2005 and was a ton of duals in it.

I picked up a morphic pool too, and that's like six bucks in battlebond for prerelease-buys, so that's neato. I'm still waiting on some copys of tezzeret the schemer to complete my revel/marionette master/ mechanized deck.

Honestly I'd like a new format that extends through like 8 or so sets as opposed to whatever we've got now. I love my ixalan, let me play my ixalan wotc.

Also, let's get back to talking about stupid shit. Hygiene at tournaments like dreamhack are like Smash-community tier.
