Yeah but I already had Arch on this drive, I wanted a clean re-install but I guess somebody fucked up the recent archinstall script.
It's ok though, I had to switch to TTY to install Konsole then I downloaded the stuff I wanted. I still have Cachy on another drive anyway.

Did you install plasma-desktop instead of plasma-meta? plasma-desktop only gives you the absolute bare minimum to get a "working" plasma install, where plasma-meta installs everything plasma needs for the default experience.

EDIT: i guess they changed the meta packages and removed dolphin and konsole, which i swear used to be packaged into it. The arch install package should still install konsole and dolphin by default if you select plasma-meta though.

Yep, the first time I installed arch with the plasma-meta, then I thought maybe I picked the wrong one so I re-installed it with plasma-desktop and I got the same result so I said "fuck that" and installed manually Konsole and the other packages that I would consider essential if I want to use KDE Plasma.

CachyOS is also basically like having an archinstall but it comes with all those packages you need, mainly for gaiming. It also comes with custom kernels which is really nice.
 
I'm thinking of distrohopping to Pop!_OS because I actually find COSMIC pretty cozy, despite the fact that it's very new and green, and also despite the fact I hate the retarded styling System76 chose for their operating system's name. Tell me in technical detail why I'm being retarded.
