Are we allowed to ask for a critique/ideas from other kiwis before we submit an official drawing?
I’ve created something that’s super basic and Microsoft paint tier that I’d like to make better, but I’m out of ideas and limited to using my fingers until I get stylus to use on my iPad lol

Create a snack and drink that you would pick or find from the ominous vending machine.
... Aight Ima to cheat a wee bit 'ere then cuz I have some fun idea remembering old times KiwiChat from TG. Before Jersh became very pissy about dancin' kitten.

Be right back at the blood red moon' noon.

I don’t know if I should spoiler this or not, if I do I’m sorry I don’t know how just yet lol

But this is what I’ve made so far in adobe fresco, it’s my first ever time drawing on a tablet lol I’m wanting to make objects more detailed and add more to the background so it’s not so boring but I’m kinda at a loss about what exactly I should do
Does anyone have a word of advice for me?

Get GIMP or anything else with vectors like MS Publisher even and go over it with vectors.

Title: Gorl Dinner
Medium: gouache
Challenge Name: Vending
Description: I pictured a wagey taking a lunch break during her shift at Kiwi Mart and she's having a little vending machine meal that highlights the Beauty Parlor. For her gorl dinner, she's chosen zero calorie Munchie Mix via or many Munchie cows, gorl cow milk (pink, ofc), a sausage pocket via our Stinkditch section and for dessert, one of Foodie Beauty's "diet" Beezie Brand cupcakes!
Time Spent: maybe four hours
Art Specific Critique: Yes, intense
Permission For User Edits: Yes
Challenge Feedback: I really like how original this challenge felt as a concept and how it incorporated the community pretty efficiently. It had enough constraints to help people who have trouble pinning down ideas, but enough freedom to do whatever you really want in this theme and still make it work.

You can lean into your sun/crop idea by adding some god rays to the background and let the body of the can carry some shadows if you really want to add detail to the background/foreground. Dont worry too much about the background detail otherwise too many elements can make the piece look a bit busy for this challenge, but if its something you think really matters for it then it's cool. Maybe even have the sun in the top right corner of the soda can to kind of make it like it's dictating the sun's position behind it. Only spent like 10 or so mins, didn't want to hijack your work but felt it more helpeful to show.

Here's a small tip, try to keep lineart thickness consistent, between the top of the can to the body of the can.

Future Challenge Suggestion
: FUNTIMES ARE LOVE. FUNTIMES ARE LIFE.

For the record: for those curious why Blender was mentioned. Well that's a funny one cuz my retarded head have thought for itself "oh man, would be handy to make sum 3d raw stock so I wont get completely cooked with my lack of perspective, yes?". So I did.

Is Blender good/free? I'd like to give modelling/sculpting a try but I don't wanna spend money on something when there's a strong chance I'll be shit at it and lose interest quickly. I've also seen ZBrush and Maya mentioned by art people I follow, but I have no idea.

Blender is free, and there's tons of tutorials on youtube that tell you the basics, like sculpting a donut as a first thing etc. Just type in 'blender tutorial for beginners' and theres loads of options.

Why yes it is free, you can either DL Blender from its official site or via Steam. Steam offers immediate updates the moment ones are ready for download and instal.
And yeah it's good, but require patience. Something I definitely have short stack of.

I was happy with how this was looking until I moved it over to my second monitor :stress:
I don't really know why it looks so much different on my other monitor maybe because its newer?

Title: Seeds feed expands to your local grocer
Medium: Digital (program was medibang)
Challenge Name: Snack Pack
Description: Concept art for Sneeds microwavable popcorn. The harvest has been so plentiful that Sneeds is expanding its' product line.
Time Spent: Tbh I lost track
Art Specific Critique: Yes. I struggle with making things looks realistic digitally.
Permission For User Edits: Yes
Challenge Feedback: I thought this challenge was fine. I don't have a ton of feedback for it.
Future Challenge Suggestion: Something like a single line drawing or only being allowed to use a pre determined color palette. "Draw a scene at a cafe that includes a chair, cup, and window only using one line" or "paint/color an underwater scene only using orange, red, black and purple ".

I also want to challenge myself and try to make a jewelry and/or aluminum piece along with my drawing/painting. I get stuck in ruts easily where I can't come up with new designs. It might not be every submission but I'm going to try my best.
