Way back in the old thread someone said something about being an extra being hard, thankless work. Save your sympathy for people who deserve it. As someone who has worked a fair amount as an extra, getting paid an exorbitant amount of money to sit around a movie set hanging out and shooting the shit until they need you to stand around and literally do nothing in the background for a few hours is the easiest job ever invented (as illustrated by the fact that it is regularly performed by people who can't tie their own shoe laces, and retirees looking for something to do).

Then to top it all off the extras put no fucking effort into what they do. Watch any movie or TV show you like and watch the background people. They kill the reality of the scene if you notice them because they're not actors. They're just people off the streets from cities that have a film industry and they're overpaid for the "work" they do. And they bitch and complain all the time and descend on the craft services like a swarm of locusts. (edit: and they get free catered food too! I should have mentioned that before. Do you get free food at work? Because these under-appreciated workhorses of the film industry do.) You know the people in Judge Judy sitting in the audience? Extras, getting paid to do that shit, and basically the most un-put-upon human beings on the planet.

A good example of a scene that's ruined by extras is the scene in Sin City where the prostitutes gun down all the gangsters. Look at the expressions on the prostitute's faces (featured extras). They tear you kicking and screaming out of the scene.

I hate extras.

I have a feeling his father doesn't give much of a fuck because his mother coddled him so much she shoved the father out of the picture everytime he attempted to put forth some criticism. I could be totally wrong, it's just the impression I get from experience with people similar to TGK, aswell as how his father seems to have taken a meaningful step back.

I think of it as the dad not really wanting to spend the time with GK because his son is making decisions he's not happy with. My dad does this with me because I refuse to speak to my sister and by doing so, I'm not "making the family whole." Unlike GK, I'm a responsible, independent adult and I make good choices for myself.

Some dads are just douches like that. In a way, I pity GK because he didn't choose to have a dad like that, but at the same time the kid needs to take responsibility for his own life and try to make an effort to re-establish a relationship with his dad. Shit doesn't happen if you sit around.

Thanks, No Haggle!

Something very relevant to the parents discussion is that both are in their early 60s.

It's interesting that GK's dad is very in to cars; GK's older brother is now a car salesman and his youtube name is based off his car.

Although from the college assignments on youtube it looked like GK's brother might be circling the drain of lolcowdom himself, he appears to have pulled free.

GK, however, is just so ill-suited to the real world. Unless he toughens up quick, he'll be settling in to stay-at-home manchildhood at a time when his father is thinking about retirement.

It also means that the days of his mother being able to wait hand and foot on GK are not going to last indefinitely...

I just want to say that I find the reason Goldie associates himself with knights and knighthood to be interesting.

Rather than clinging on to them for the (perhaps cliched) concepts of 'chivalry' and 'duty', he associates himself with them because he wants to be a self-important 'badass' running around in expensive armor.

It's not a profound observation, but I feel it's a good way to break down GK's psyche. He's in it for himself.

So in actuality, he's just like Chris with his CWCville universe and his "fans" and his general entitlement, he's just like Jace and his nation of tardos, etc. They all want to be a big, important leader. They all want to be badasses.

So he really does embody some knightly characteristics just the bad ones like vanity and self righteousness. Personally I don't think a heroic knight would make his armor out of gold but use it to help other people and settle for some steel.

- Non-alcoholic beer? Ew. Also real action heroes drink liquor. Just sayin.

IIRC, non-alcoholic beer is actually worse for your health than alcoholic beer.

Another trait with autistic people that I've noticed is that they have a very limited range of what they like/don't like and one of those things is food. They rarely ever eat anything that's 'real' food, only going for things like salty and sugary snacks. And when they do eat a proper meal it's almost always the same thing and it's usually really bland, tasteless stuff that fills them up, but that's all it does until the next chocolate binge comes along. I've noticed that most of them have an aversion to alcohol and smoking too.

Though we all know GK has got much bigger problems to worry about, let alone his diet.

Thanks Topper you just basically described me, now I have to go take an autism test. Oh GK if you ate purely for sustenance you wouldn't eat snack food rather just 3 meals a day.

I mainly eat solely for survival's sake; I wouldn't eat if Nature didn't curse me with a stomach that demands to be tended to every so often.
Hey guys, I'm cursed too. Nature has cursed me with a stomach that demands to be tended to three times a day. I think I might be human.

Sorry about the lack of updates guys been busy with work, i know you guys have been keen to get some other details on this sprouting lolcow. I have to compile a bunch of stuff he's done/posted and post it, have to edit it for some privacy reason and some of it is way too long and just boring, don't expect screencaps just text or chat logs.

Highlights to come
-GK secret blog, "super best friends only", the quest for compatibility.
- A day in the park from GK's point of view.
-Issues at work
-Career growth with comic series "May need to hire a human resources department in the near future"
-His views on Christian Weston Chandler.

And more stuff that should be fun, will post it in the next few days when i finish editing it/have time.

Just a word of advice, he reads everything on this forum that relates to him EVERYTHING, it feeds his ego.

hahahaHAHAAHA i'm fucking PSYCHED for the subforum. as it's gone so far, i can sense a CWC-like situation occurring here. Except perhaps worse.

honestly I don't think we need a subforum

what can we say about him that won't already fit into this thread?

well, personally, I believe that it would be good for organizational purposes. different threads for different things referring to Goldilocks.
But do those different things need separate threads? What did you have in mind?

i got into a massive fight with them and they're being absolute pricks! They said I shouldn't be talking to people online because they may be pedophiles. UGHH. They don't understand that deviantart isn't even fucking like that. There are NO PEDOPHILES on this site. None. Nada. Now get off my back you old farts!

Ugh, sorry for the rant, i've had a long 24 hours

someone kill me please
If there were no pedophiles on DA, GK wouldn't be on it! Zing!

Seriously, though, why are her parents worried about pedophiles when Lisa is supposed to be an adult? I can understand her folks being worried about serial killers or something, but pedophiles?
