I have not played a game of fallout 4 without using cheats. I always end up giving myself a bunch of crafting supplies and turning the settlement system into post-apocalypse Sims. Made Sanctuary a walled town with concrete foundations and hung up a neon sign reading "Sanctuary: Fuck off we're full", turned Red Rocket into a military base and the focal point of all supply caravans, and turned Spectacle Island into a concentration camp.

This is the only correct way to play Fallout 4. It's a post-apocalyptic game of the Sims with some shooting and quests for variety.

For my part, I use cheat mods in Paradox games because I'm useless at them but enjoy them anyway.
 
I loved NinjaTheory DmC and I liked the characterisation of Dante and Vergil in it. I will not apologise...but I'm not exactly gonna crow about it either.

For me, without modding all its shortcomings. Like the settlement limitations and all those retarded Minutemen quests. Honestly, I've never finished the main story quest. Everything besides shooty-thooty or hoarding items is boring as all hell.
 
LoZ ocarina and Twilight Princess are overrated and the easiest games in the franchise. Windwaker is shit too.

I never liked FF7 and never saw the hype for it. It's ugly to look at and Chrono Trigger is better in every way. Remake looks alright but they fucked it up with the episodic bs and people only let that shit pass because muh nostalgia

I only play Animal Crossing because my gf plays it. I never told her i think it's a waste of fucking time and more boring than her friends.

I've only watched Yakuza lp's but its probably one of my favorite game series ever.

I have no problem with gacha games, the more the years pass the more they pass as legitimate games for me because the ching chong's put a lot more effort in them now. Gbf, azur lane ,Arknights, Idolmaster, and Girls Frontline to name a few
 
I didn't like DOOM 2016 very much. There I said it. I mean it's clearly a masterpiece, looks great, incredible music, near-perfect mechanics - but I would keep getting bored and stopping. If I like a game I'll binge on it late into the night, but after an hour or less of Doom I was like "nah, I'm good" and I'd save and exit. I think it was the pacing and the rather repetitive combat for me. I'd say it's not really the game for me, I'm not a huge FPS guy, but I loved Wolfenstein TNO and binge-played the whole game in one session. I guess it was because it had more of a plot and more variety. In WTNO you were never sure what you were going to do next or in what environment, maybe a stealth section, maybe a balls-out action section, but in Doom you're going to fight demons in a red corridor. I only ever got about half way through it and I have no desire to go back. I didn't get Doom Eternal because it looks like more of the same.
 
Maybe a bit tangential, but I wasn't sure where else to put it. I've been repeatedly banned from the Resident Evil wiki for adding the "Chris wants Leon to fuck his sister" meme to pages.

I can't bring myself to quite agree, but I can see where you're coming from and respect that. I felt like it was getting kind of repetetive until it just clicked to me out of the blue.
 
Despite Wind Waker being one of my favorite Zeldas, I've never actually beaten it because the ReDeads scare the hell out of me.
I've played almost every major Zelda game and the only one I've actually beaten in A Link To The Past. Somewhere towards the end I just get tired of the gameplay loop and move on to something else. If I revisit an old Zelda I'll start a new game.

Part of me kinda likes not seeing the end to many games, even with many modern games that tend to be way shorter and have less bullshit design that games used to have. An unfinished game leaves me with the perception that the game is bigger than it actually is. I'll likely never see the ending to an X-Com game because I always play those games very carelessly with ironman mode and I like it for that.
 
I have never legitimately beaten Darkest Dungeon on any difficulty that isn't Radiant

I woudlnt have agreed with this before, but having recently tried replaying this game again, I can see where you’re coming from.

The first time I played it, I think I was on break from school or something and had nothing better to do so I just binged the game start to finish in a couple of days. I remembered it being a blast and being one of the most fun FPS games I’d ever played, mechanically speaking. Recently I tried it again but it hasn’t really drawn me back in the same way. I still ENJOY the combat, but after finishing one fight my immediate thought isn’t “give me more”, it’s “I think that’s enough for the night”.

I think ultimately it IS the lack of variety and a lack of a strong plot that hold the game back a bit, because these are two elements that would keep the player constantly asking, “what’s next?”
 
I like to look up the results of any major choice in all the RPGs I play before I decide. I don't like picking an option and finding out the results aren't what I want it to be.

Sometimes, i feel like i'm too old, cynical and jaded to enjoy videogames any more, i flat out refuse to play popular games for mostly petty reasons, and most of the time when i try something new, i don't enjoy it, for example, a couple weeks ago, i started to play a game called Oddworld Munch's Odysse, i'm aware that's an old game, but i have never played puzzle/strategy game before, so i thought it was worth a shot, i have played it for like 5 hours and the game just simply doesn't "click" with me, nothing in the game makes want to beat it, maybe if i was 15 years younger o would have enjoyed it.
 
I prefer Vice City and III over San Andreas. After playing for a while, SA just kind of loses its charm and becomes almost soulless. Plus, the whole gangster theme just isn't my taste. Vice City and III still manage to retain that "charm" even during the final leg of the story, and have the advantage of having atmospheric themes I like (the pastel 80's of Miami and the gritty urban jungle of NY).

SM64 isn't the masterpiece people make it out to be. The controls are clunky and the camera is just god fucking awful. When I played it, 50% of the game is just fighting with the camera. I don't know how people put up with that shit, especially the people who played it with the original N64 controller.

Never played it, but I don't like DDLC. It just reeks of "ooh spooky ghost takes over the game aah muh fourth wall" ARG-eqsue horror that horror YTers like ReignBot or NightMind seem to adore.

I'm a quicksave addict thanks to Half-Life. Shit got so bad I started pressing F5/F6 on games without quicksave from muscle memory.

And probably the worst one of all:
I once jacked it to a Minecraft porn animation.

Yes, that one.
 
I lie and tell my friends that I beat Final Fantasy 9, because one of them freaked out at me for saying 8 was better than 9, but then admitted she’d never finished either one. I said I’d beaten both. I actually only made it to the final boss of 9.

I really fucking love Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, even though I was old enough to drink before I played them.

I'm the same way or similar. They show a trailer for a new game, talk about what makes it unique, the gears spin in my head for a bit and I've puzzled out how that game works, how the game and the mechanics HAS to work. I've been around long enough that nothing is surprising or new anymore. During the crazy No Mans Sky hype I tried to explain to people what the game would actually be like and everyone was 'nah' and maintained their hype, then they were very angry when it was very much what I said(but not exactly what I said, I'm not a genius). With a Jeff Minter mindset the game(at release) becomes something different, that mindset involves being incredibly stoned and treating it as an interactive experience instead of a game.

With actual AAA titles they can't really take a gamble so they have to keep it safe production wise to maintain a release schedule, gone are the days of the 90's and early 2000's when ambitious idiots really tried to push things and the games got delayed for years as a result, then they often came out completely broken and were quickly forgotten.

There's still a lot of innovation in AAA but it's mostly in graphics, it's a safer area especially with post-processing effects. If the new radical AA scheme doesn't work out then fall back on the old one, if the new AO takes up to much GPU time, fall back on the old one. If the very ambitious core gameplay turns out to not be feasible to implement, fuuuuuck, that's how we ended up with broken but fascinating games like Trespasser and a lot of euro jank.

So I don't really play games anymore, reading about them is enough these days because I'm still very interested and follow what's going on. I played and finished Bayonetta 2 last week and that was the first thing I've played in over a year(previous one was DMC5, I like CAGs Bloodstained, June 2019). I was thinking of getting back into Resident Evil 7 and when I loaded it up the most recent save was from 4/20/2018(nice!).

Yeah, I'm a fake gamer.

At least I'm not a girl on top of that.
