His love of hot dogs has really started to win me over. He’s a furb of the people and he puts his trousers on one leg at a time (and at all) just like us. And as another poster said, he is in fact friend-shaped.

I called him a “hilarious abomination” earlier in the thread... and now I feel bad. He has become oddly lovable. What is becoming of me?

Longfurb is horrifying in that way that's hard to look away from, but easy to keep looking at, and pathetic and harmless enough to be endearing. Like the Eraserhead baby.

I remember getting one of these as a kid. The rubber mouth peice somehow ripped off making it look even more freaky. I probably still have it somewhere

I'm relieved that for the most part this community just does Fairy Kei mods to furbies and doesn't turn them into sex dolls... As far as I know.
@Vyxenn you said you use to be part of the community. Did you ever own a furby?
 
The fact that a fandom for furbies exists is quite perplexing actually. I wonder what drew them to furbies of all things? Did the obnoxious load noises it makes drown out the sound of their dad beating their mom? Who knows.

On a side note, Furby also released this strange sort of furby relative called "shelby"

I recognize that spiel. The hoarder visited 4chan a while back, asking what places (other than ebay) one might buy old Furbies. It said it wanted to buy up cheap ones to help people who couldn't afford high collector prices. It wasn't very literate or lucid. :thinking:

Anons figured it was a literal tard or stupid teen, and tried to explain that you can't make an item cost less by adding an unnecessary layer of middleman shipping and paypal fees. Maybe one person suspected it was an idiot trawling for some cheap pity-swag. It's too bad no archives saved the thread.
