Ok tbf, the ps5 scalping problem doesn’t really exist anymore. You can buy one now with no problem.
But why? There's no reason to.
It's time to face fucking facts. The PS5 is a dead console. It released during COVID, scalpers ruined it, and nobody has one. Sony had to artificially extend the life of the PS4 to the point it still gets new games TO THIS DAY, making it the best console since PS2. There's just not a reason to own a PS5.

The PS5 exclusives are:

Final Fantasy 16
God of War PS5
God of War Ragnarok
Astro's Playroom
Death Stranding Director's Cut
Demon's Souls PS5
Destruction AllStars
Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart
Returnal
Marvel's Spider Man Remastered
Marvel's Spider Man Miles Morales
Marvel's Spider Man 2
Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut PS5
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade PS5
Kena Bridge of Spirits
Helldivers 2
Horizon Forbidden West PS5
Horizon Call of the Mountain
Gran Turismo 7
Sackboy A Big Adventure
Tchia
The Last of Us Part 1 PS5
The Last of Us Part 2 PS5
Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Pacific Drive
Foamstars
Silent Hill 2 remake
Stellar Blade
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake
Rise of the Ronin
Marvel's Wolverine
Death Stranding 2

I had to indicate PS5 "exclusive" versions but over HALF this list is remakes of games that either already exist, or are on PS4/PC with their ONLY selling point being graphics. I'm sorry but that isn't fucking enough to justify spending $500 on a PS5 just so I can watch Naughtydog piss away money on the Last of Us 2 again in real time. The people at Square Enix made a giant fucking mistake making these expensive ass games exclusive for a dead console. The writing should've been on the wall after 16 sold like a brick that the PS5 wasn't the way to go and they should've renegotiated whatever deal they made with Sony over it. Anyone who buys a PS5 at this point is a fucking retard. The faster Sony gets away from this monumental fuck-up the better for everyone. If I were Sony, I'd also give Square Enix a first crack at the hardware for PS6 so they can port 16 and 7 Rebirth out on release. God, what shitty console.

@Party Hat Wurmple I’m not arguing whether a ps5 should be bought or not, I’m just saying they are now widely available.
due to yen's value cratering, it still makes more sense to scalp Jap PS5 and sell them in other regions and profit compared to buying a PS5 natively in that region.

Also, I applaud FFVII remake series to completely kill my interest of playing any FF again, just like how they killed Parasite Eve with 3rd Birthday

I've been wondering, I know it wasn't great but would it have saved Square if they released a Final Fantasy Unlimited movie simultaneously for the kids?
While Spirits Within for adults?

With Ghosts of Tsushima finally getting a PC port, I'm still trying to figure out why in the HELL I would get a Soystation 5. Square has said in the past they're working on a Final Fantasy XVI port, and I have no doubt that FFVII Rebirth will get one near the end of the year / start of next year.

Is the dog multiverse real or schitzo?
1) Where is this from?
2) What the hek is an "empty" Holy materia...? One that doesn't work?
3) So basically the only characters that actually matter now are Aeris and Sephiroth first and foremost, then Cloud, than everybody else dead last, and people are ok with this?

On another note, I've been hearing how either Nojima or Kitase want to try and tie the "remakes" with Advent Children. Has anyone else heard this?

Yeah, one of those nip faggots said that they were going to tie in things from all the other ff7 games, including Advent children. Those three whisper dudes you fight at the end are supposed to be the three Sephiroth clones from the movie. The Yuffie dlc had stuff from dirge of cerebus in it too, they're including everything it seems.

I'm positive some of this is trolling but there's something real here with the multi time lines. I haven't finished all of rebirth but there's something going on with holy.
I have only ever played the original FF7, none of the spin-offs, never watched Advent Children, haven't played any of the remake material, and I 100% believe SE would unironically use the phrase "Beagle Universe" in a Final Fantasy game.
The cool thing in my experience so far, is that while rebirth is referencing a decent amount of stuff they are doing it breadcrumbs style and actually taking the time to introduce things so you don't get too lost. The rule of thumb in most Nomura games is there's always as least one character who's as clueless as the 1st time audience at the very least.

The most jarring stuff is probably the crisis core Zack scenes. it's spaced out considerably and I'm certain they'll explain who he is when you get to his hometown but you'd probably get a lot more enjoyment out of it if you watched the original crisis core dub.

There's something so beautifully sad about a dead man coming back to a dead world.

Frankly I'm shocked how they haven't really seemed to lean into the villains from dirge and crisis core. It seems like rebirth is pretty faithful to the core story even if it's adding and setting up a lot of new elements for game 3

What they leaned into a LOT I wasn't expecting was with Ever crisis
that's the point of divergence, the prequel character's from first solider surviving their deaths and taking over Wutai with the help of a mystery man
.

So is Zack back alive? Is he also force ghost? I remember Aerith death was 1/3 into the game which surprised me since I assumed it will be far later

I think the only major Compilation work that has yet to be directly referenced, or have its characters featured, is Before Crisis (outside of characters who appeared in other games, like Cissnei).

Alright just I finished the game, this graphic is actually a perfect breakdown of what's happening in the last part of the game. They do bring up the empty holy materia earlier in the game but fuck me if I can remember what they said about it. There's way too much fluff in this game with all the open world side activity crap.

I'm playing all the pixel remasters and finished the first two.
I still don't understand why people hated ff2.
Because of the level system. It’s not really that bad of a game, just fairly forgettable. There’s just not anything notable about it compared to later games.

Am I retarded, or am I having a hard time understanding even with that graphic?

Was this huge faggot in FF7? The only fag characters I remember were some funny stereotypes in a gym, were they reworked into woke shit?

As stated, it's the leveling system which had cool ideas but was poorly implemented. More than that though, it's hard as fuck too. It was the first FF with a real story and cast but it fumbled otherwise.

Forgettable? Yes. Even the leveling system is a bit wack, but not impossible to understand.
Hard? Too. The final dungeon is crazy as fuck. Just fleeing all the way and fighting chests monsters before the Emperor reborn.
The final battle i just cheesed him with the Blood Sword.
I don't hate ff2. Squaresoft did a better job with ff4 with story-focused characters btw.
Even ff2 introduced so many elements which followed in the later entries: wyrms, dragoons, full mage's town (even the name Mysidia is reused in ff4).
The thing is... holy shit, ff2 had 6 main characters dying. Based as fuck.
