The Re series of games has confirmed to me that all the people bitching about it now being KH level bs weren’t paying attention in OG 7. It was always, always, batshit insane on the level of KH.

It is very funny to watch sides argue over this.
There wasn't anything bat shit in the original except how shitty the translation was and most of the people playing it being 11 years old.
Why would they remake a game that everyone knows inside and out exactly and is remembered for two reasons, the high quality and a death no one saw coming.
People just wanted the original with better graphics. It's not hard to understand. No one wants stupid extended length multiverse bullshit except the retarded Japanese business men with a fetish for it.

Mentioned also in the Sony thread, the short of it is that Rebirth physical (emphasis needed) sales in Japan are behind both FF16 and "Remake", I believe respective to their first week.

On another note, a similar drop in physical sales also occurred with the UK (i.e. around 30% if I recall).
In all likelihood this probably has to do with the fact that Rebirth is currently a PS5 exclusive, and not a lot of people own a PS5.

I got bored with everything I was playing so I bit the bullet and bought FF7 Remake Intergrade Integral VR Missions Whatever on the Steam

I'm surprised at how few resources it uses? My computer is almost 3 years old and it's still pretty decent for gaming, but my graphics card fan almost never amps up when playing which I did not expect

Got the game and am plowing through it. Not looking at this thread until I finish but 2 points:

1. They showed Rude at the bar. They made it goofy but I still have to hold that L.

2. Fuck the swimsuits. Show me propaganda art with Tifa and Aerith in uniform.

Would they ever make another Final Fantasy Tactics? Did they remaster the first one?
Sort of/not really. FFT: War of the Lions on PSP is the original game but in widescreen and with a couple of extra jobs and some cameo characters. The mobile port is based on the PSP version. There is ostensibly a modern remaster in production, as per an Nvidia leak from a year or two ago.

Come to think of it, Square way back when in Xenogears had Lucca, yes that Lucca from Chrono Trigger, make a cameo. Good times..
Masato Kato, Chrono Trigger's writer, keeps putting her into his games. Now she's playable in the Another Eden gacha under her last name Ashtear.

In the Chrono Cross crossover they did, Kid thinks she's Lucca. Ashtear says she's not, except at about the end of the crossover after Kid leaves she uses Lucca's lines, implying she is in fact the same person. Turns out she's an immortal world-hopper now, who knew?

Only for another couple months, too, right? Yeah, can't imagine why there's limited uptake, especially since the only people with PS5's are the scalpers.
Ok tbf, the ps5 scalping problem doesn’t really exist anymore. You can buy one now with no problem.

My initial take on Rebirth (up to Junon and have done only a moderate amount of the open world stuff) is that having a choice of party members is such a huge improvement. The one or two times I've been railroaded into using a certain set I can feel how much less I enjoy combat and figuring out bosses when I can't switch up who I'm bringing to a fight next time. Also the environmental puzzles are mostly stuck in bad design from ten years ago (think of pushing the mako vacuum around in the demo) and while not a dealbreaker just suck.

As I said earlier, they remade the game awhile ago for PS Vita. They've also recently remade Front Mission 1 and 2 which are similar in gameplay to FFT.
I would love if the remake tied itself more into the overall verse of eorzia from ff14 or had a couple nods to it. I know the details are some what wrong but I like the idea it's the same verse.

Wrong opinion.
I'm still going through the whole thing and I'm skipping a lot of side quests to get the full team but they really did a good job. I love the party dynamic and the expanded scenes that give everything so much more depth and weight. The parade scene was awesome and the music is legit majestic in every way.

There's some weird ever crisis stuff that not even I get, but it's interesting and sets up a new potential faction in Wutai.

The impression I'm getting is that while there's a lot of extra stuff setting things up, they haven't fully committed to completely changing everything yet. The core of the story is still the same if very much out of order. They've done an extremely good job introducing new characters that don't hog the spotlight.

I'm guessing the ending of this and the entirety of the third game will go absolutely buckwild.
