I knew someone who doomposted about Nintendo. They’d say Nintendo was in danger because people preferred realistic graphics from Sony and Microsoft.

This isn't true, as the majority of players didn't even mod Elder Scrolls titles until the Skyrim re-release. And even then, I'd bet the majority still don't.

That being said, I would never presume to say any Elder Scrolls game is the greatest anything for the same reason I criticize New Vegas. They're all fun games, but a game that can't/couldn't stand up on it's own can't be a greatest anything.
 
Every "gamer" thinking their some authority on games simply for being the biggest loser they know

Also every game seemingly "looking like shit" these days. I get they paid 1000 dollars for a scalped PS5 so they have unrealistic expectations but we live in an age where very few titles legitimately look like shit.

The writing is reddit tier in some places, which checks out.
Caesar is probably the cringiest part of the game. You can tell the game devs only read a wikipedia page on hegelian dialectics for his dialogue. Unless they unironically meant to make him look like an idiot pretending to be smart, in which case my expectations were subverted, and Obsidian actually has great writing.

"It looks like a PS1 game!" in response to a game that looks fine unless you want ultra 4K.
Tell me you never played a PS1 game without telling me you never played a PS1 game.
