It's always amused me that in this day and age it's bad for his image to ignore a trans relative.
EDIT - sometime in the last couple of days Cole locked down his Twitter to "replies from friends only" and deleted a bunch of Chris related replies to his tweets.

you gotta wonder whats going through cole's head right now
I feel sorry for him. That's an incredible amount of burden that one man has to take for simply being a target of pure circumstance. But that can be said about anyone whos blood relative is someone infamous. Just take a look at Hitler's half-great nephews/nieces, but instead of it being the media, you're stalked and harassed by autistic weens gleefully hoping to scream "JUUUUUUUULAAAAY" the moment you pick up the phone.

I wonder if the State of VA will contact Cole if Barb requires guardianship. How the fuck is he gonna say "NO WAY" and that he wants nothing to do with his freshly raped and elderly senile mother. I could see if my brother went to jail and animal control asked me to take his dog and me saying no. It's a dog. But someone who's vagina you came out of? Have a little compassion you asshole.
This keeps coming up so I did a bit of searching. Thirty states have ‘filial laws’ that require adult children to pay for their parent’s unpaid medical bills. Virginia does, New York does not.

Since Cole lives in NY, you’d think he has nothing to worry about, but it looks like filial laws are based on the state where the patient lives, and can potentially cross state lines:

So, if Barb’s care is not covered fully by the government/insurance, Cole could potentially be on the hook for some or all of the unpaid amount. Will the state go after Chris first? Are other family members liable, or just adult children? Will Virginia decide it is worth it to pursue payment from a child in another state? Would proof of a fractured relationship as a result of a parent’s actions let the child off the hook?

Who was arranging for Barb’s care up until now? Chris isn’t capable of much more than making sure she gets to doctor’s appointments, so other family members could be helping in some way. They may be willing to just take things on themselves and not even bother involving Cole.

Saw this on Ebay,
“This comic book was in the possession of Mr. Joseph Cole Smithey, The Worlds Smartest Movie Critic”
with a signature from Barb and Chris.

Oh I’ll split that Cole hole like a ripe Georgia peach. Nigga will finally find out who he daddy is.
Cole needs to review Buck Breaking by Tariq Nasneed. During the review he should act like everything is fine.

I'm guessing he has mixed feelings. Barb had something bad coming, but Chris should've just beaten her, or begun the homeless saga on his own accord, leaving her to rot.

Then Chris is dead to him. The relationship was never really that close. Cole mostly maintained it to keep tabs on Barb without having to actually talk to Snorlax. Remember when Chris asked Cole to vote for his entry in the Parappa contest and Cole agreed to do it if he asked Barb who his real dad is? And then when Chris reported Barb's answer, Cole replied that Barb was full of shit?

Part of me wonders if he legit wants to murder Chris. Yes, he’s got a LOT of resentment towards his upbringing and his mother, but she’s still his mother and she got raped.

IMO at this point he'd probably preffer if they both do a flip. There is no coming back from this, having both burried and gone is for him the best of fuckedup scenarios he has in front of him.

Fuck Cole Smithey. Jihad on Cole Smithey. He is a dick, fuck his opinion on Toy Story 3, also Chris is way better than him, he can go suck some dicks along with his craft beers, FUCK Cole Smithey.
Giving Toy Story 3 a bad review is far worse than raping his own mom.

Yeah, fate worse than death. If Chris had just started the homeless saga on his own accord and left Barb to rot before being devoured by the cats, he'd probably feel that was justice.

Barb is on Medicare, draws Social Security, plus a pension from Virginia Power&Light. She might also be drawing survivor benefits from Bob’s pension as well.
Since she was removed from 14BC and has not returned to it, Barb is most likely in the custody of the State and being placed in a long-term facility. There aren’t going to be any outstanding medical bills. The way it works is that unless a family member steps forward to do it, the State appoints a guardian for her with power of attorney to liquidate Barb’s estate. Everything is sold off for whatever can be got. That money is paid to the State to cover her medical expenses. Once that runs out, THEN Social Security and Medicare kick in and cover the costs of her care in the long-term facility until she dies.

I can't tell which bathrobe harpy is supposed to be Chris and Barb.
I wonder that too, I'd say the taller one, probably. As you already noted, he forgot to draw tits at first (because deep down he knows he is male), but on the other hand, it would not be the first time he draws himself child-sized in comparison to his parents (because deep down he knows he is a manbaby).

By the way, in hindsight, it's quite creepy how "attractive" (by Chris art standards, I mean) and young Barb looks on that drawing I just linked, despite her being almost 70 in 2010 (with poor 'ol Bob on the other hand looking like a boiled testicle).

Let cole live. He probably doesn't give a fuck about either of these two monsters. And he shouldn't. They've been nothing but problems to him.

I don't see why Cole is under any obligation to act upon or even acknowledge the situation. He distanced himself from Chris and Barb over 20 years ago and I doubt he would want to be implicated in this shitstorm any more than he already is. Every "saga" brings an onslaught of weens who go after anyone who has been associated with Chris in the past, including Cole, so I don't blame him for putting his head down and keeping quiet.
He's not under any obligation to involve himself; but probably I'd still see if my mother was alive because I'm not a heartless bastard.

The only states that really enforces their filial law is Pennsylvania & North Dakota. While these laws are on the books, they are rarely enforced outside of Pennsylvania & North Dakota. Cole really has nothing to worry about, even if Medicare doesn't pay out.
