The Chandler kids are actually pretty far off the radar. Not even the Chandlers know what Carol is up to these days.

That's probably more because they don't have anything like the internet presence that Cole does. And even then, something tells me that David Chandler (or more likely a bewildered receptionist) has had to listen to one or two idiots phoning his clinic and screaming JUUULAAAAYY!! over the years.

As a guy who is trying (with varying degrees of success) to be a "public figure" he needs a persona. It is much more difficult to be a "normal guy" than to be a jerk, or some other eccentricity.

Also, negative attention is almost as good a positive attention from him. I don't mean from weens, I mean from people who think he is a arrogant jerk, read his reviews to marvel at his arrogance, tell their friends about him so they can share in his arrogance. It is all clicks.

I don't mean any of the above as a comment on his treatment from or towards Chris, Barb, or weens. I am just saying that if he is trying to increase his status in the already saturated world of movie criticism, he has to find a way of separating himself from the pack.

Armond White already has his niche pretty well covered.

The thing with Armond White, though, is that it's fun debating whether or not he's trolling.

Cole, on the other hand, is very obviously Completely Serious, to the point where there's nothing organic about his reviews. Even his most controversial opinions feel stiff and manufactured.

Exactly, we don't hate him because of his connection to Chris, we hate him because he's a 50 year old hipster-progressive asshole that thinks he's more famous than Egbert and treats everyone he interacts with like used toilet paper whether they ask him about Chris, or simply disagree with him on one of his reviews. I don't see the problem with someone asking Cole what he thinks of Chris. He is a part of the Chris story whether he likes it or not.

It doesn't help that he is an insufferable hipster loser who thinks he is a lot smarter than he thinks he is. His response just cements the fact that he is an insecure, 50 year old blogger who has never had a real job in his life.

He is the easiest person to ALOG next to Chris. Chris can't help being an obnoxious asshole; Cole chooses to be one.

I don't see the problem with someone asking Coleslaw what he thinks of Chris. He is a part of the Chris story whether he likes it or not.

I dunno about you, but if my sister became a lolcow, I would absolutely despise if people spammed my personal email and Twitter accounts asking questions about her. To ask Cole, multiple times, about his brother is nothing short of assholish and just because Cole is an unlikeable person for other reasons does not make it okay. Sorry.
