It's like the guy thinks he's Roger Ebert or something
So I just checked his twitter and apparently when Ebert passed he didn't make any mention of it on his twitter. Look I have disagreed with Roger Ebert on plenty of films and subjects. That's the nature of things. But every movie reviewer owes Roger Ebert for popularizing and making film critiquing something in the first place. Hell you can appreciate the fact that he honest to god loved film.

Cole Smithey posted a link to some youtube video of his. I review movies on the side, nothing big. Just a hobby I do when I am bored. But I see the impact Siskel and Ebert made to what I do for fun. Cole can't even comment on it considering it is his "job"??? Fuck him.

Also he poorly reviewed Silver Linings Playbook. That pissed me off too.

Ebert was too mainstream, and he wasn't called the Smartest Film Critic In The World.

(Actually, he probably was, by people far more knowledgeable than Cole. But since people actually listened to what Ebert said, the man didn't have to fellate his own ego)

Being born with hip problems must be pretty rough.

Also, as of the last time anyone in the Chandler family bothered to check (about five years ago), his relationship to Katherine is uncertain. Who thinks they're married? Divorced? Together?

Am I the only one who heard of Cole Smithey before the Toy Story 3 review and before learning about Chris? I used to view the Razzies forums a lot, and there were links to Rotten Tomatoes where I saw snippets from Cole's reviews.

Talk about a lack of respect. Would expressing a little emotion about Ebert's death been out of the question?

Pedantic, pseudo-hipster movie trailer critic that seems to be less in touch with reality than his retarded half-brother. That's about the beginning and the end of it for me. :pickle: :pickle: :tomgirl:

I found Chris calling Cole mentally ill funny.
He thinks Barb is a bad mother so he is crazy? Cole seems arrogant and is a hipster douche but otherwise he has his life in order. I remember a comment on his website he made about the jazz band he plays in and his wife(?) Middle aged hipster flourish in those types of places.
But in Barbs messed up (the bitch is nuts in the new email dump) Chris is her autistic property that will never leave her even when she went "Mommie Dearest" on him and cut his hair.

So did he really get slammed agaisnt a bus or is Barb making that shit up to?
Like when Chris asks "Mommy, why doesn't Cole like you?" She had to think up an excuse other than 'I'm a shitty parent'

Maybe, but in the scale of awful redneck parenting, I don't know if the situation she was in would've required such a strong response. She probably could've bullshitted a lesser response and have been fine, if indeed nothing had happened to Cole. I think it's more likely that Cole did indeed have some sort of injury, probably minor as hell, that she exploited to excuse her shitty behavior to him.

"He stubbed his toe, now he has brain damage."

"He stubbed his toe, now he has brain damage."
Typical, typical Barb behaviour.

Barb could have easily said something along the lines of "Oh, Cole didn't always hate Mommy. Yer not old enough to remember, but was a wonderful and kind boy before he got accepted to college in California. Then my sweet lil boy turned into a jerk under the influence of liberals and drugs, and decided he was too good for us." It'd be a perfectly valid answer, but Barb decided to be a spiteful bitch so she wouldn't sound like she or Bob had anything to do with it.

Didn't Barb and her partner beat Cole as a child? Maybe THEY were responsible for Cole's brain damage, and Barb is just telling Chris that he had brain damage from a bus. Giving away too much information being a typical Weston/Chandler trait.

"I tried to nurse him back to health but I made the sacrifice to get rid of your autistic shell instead."
That was after she and Bob went out to get drunk.

If she beat Cole, why didn't she beat Chris? :(

There's nearly a twenty-year difference between Cole and Chris, during which, in that time and place, I'm guessing parental ass-whupping and bizarre scenarios became the H-bomb of disciplinary measures.
