I liked it so far.
The Deep is becoming the butt of the joke, and imho his bad luck with sea fauna is hilarious. I think that the whole thing with Butcher's wife is interesting. I have to rewatch, but from what I understood she and her son are closed inside/live near some kind of governative compound?

only three episodes in but like it so far. no idea i would love but also hate stormfront in one episode all at the same time. seeing homelander trying (and failing) acting normal with his family is very creepy but also sad. i hope the deep gets the help he needs. Hughie is being a fucking bitch and i hope he stops.

I thought it was cool that they kept Stormfront and even made her racist when they could have cut the character out. In general I really liked the first episodes and The Deep's side plot is hilarious.

Apparently the power of horny is stronger than hatred of Nazis.

Stormfront's actually pretty likable so far. Although I'm curious as to whether or not the writers meant for viewers to retroactively view her "who gives a shit about gender, shut the fuck up about it already" spiel as some sort of alt-right talking point once you find out more about her.

She is annoying but likable in my opinion until she:
Kills a bunch of black people for no reason except that they were in her way and strangles an asian dude, calls him yellow bastard and forces him to die with his eyes open so she can see the life seep out of him.
Then she turns in to a fucking bitch.

all pretty based tbh

I just meant that she's entertaining. Not like, say, Pop-Claw from S1 or A-Train, where I'm usually starting to get bored with the episode when they're being focused on.

I've noticed an interesting subtext that Stormfront is probably a subtle parody of Captain marvel and her modern architect Denonick. Right down the faux girl power aspects.

Apparently the power of horny is stronger than hatred of Nazis.

Somebody needs to stage an intervention for these people.

Do some reading about the Stormfront character, he writers were jacking themselves raw about how clever they are a few months ago, since they changed the character from being a Nazi genetic-engineering project to create a superman to a super powered woman who got radicalized by the online Alt-Right. It’s the sort of shit that Hollywood and Tech Bros get harder for than tranny triple-anal gangbang vids.
Stormfront is the best super.
She's from Portland, of course she turned out to be a Nazi; anyone sane passing through Portland leaves with a brown shirt and a fashie haircut.

It's not doing much for me this season. They've gone from shocking comedy or shocking horror last season to just empty shock.

The first episode was alright, but I think as the season goes on it's getting worse.

Like, the full on Sheer Fucking Hubris style scolding Edgar gave Homelander? S1 Homelander was a walking atom bomb, unstable and terrifying. Edgar must know about that. I know Homelander is trying to play happy families now but still. Edgar's limo should have mysteriously flown off a cliff after that nonsense.

And, scientology? Sure but your writing has to be really good to add anything to all that's already been said about it. Unless you are happy just using it as a cheap plot point.

It's more than that though, the Deep abuses women because he's insecure and can't accept himself. OK, we get it. So then what we need of course is Homelander humiliating him about his gills and setting him back. Crap, obvious writing.

And the theme of the series turning to children being used and abused. I dunno, was Epstein before or after they wrote this? There had better not be a secret island somewhere.

And Stormfront being a supporter of having free speech and therefore obviously being a White Supremacist Nazi. I knew they were going to do it but I'm just disappointed how heavy handed it all is.

Worst of all we're 3 episodes in. There's only another 5 to go. How much have Frenchie and Mother's Milk contributed so far? The writing is giving them no real reason to be there.

You can see the lack of imagination all over the place. The scene in the hospital was straight out of a soap opera.

I probably hoped for too much. After the massive change to the comic story at the end of s1 I thought they would be off and running making their own thing. I should have known better, I watched Game of Thrones all the way to the end.

Venture Brothers already did Girl Hitler.

It’s kinda funny that Seth Rogen has his hands on this show given how much they mock obvious corporate PR pandering shit. I’m guessing everything that’s good about it he has nothing to do with.

Stormfront amuses me more than I thought she would. Aside from Homelander I can't remember any of the other actors selling a feeling that the character takes such great pleasure in the visceral feel of being so powerful. I'm sure as her politics are pushed increasingly as part of what makes her so villainous she'll come to grate (they already do a little but the good has outweighed the bad).
