Holy shit, they actually just did nothing with the Gen V kids except show them babysitting normies at that same fucking house over and over. I was honestly expecting them to at least bring one of them to the big fight at the white house as some sort of token rep to make that whole spinoff matter. That and having SB finish the show in his goddamn stasis pod is fucking unbelievable. I think that must confirm that Vought Rising is going to have a time skip, there's no way they're not going to resolve him somehow.

I can't say I had high expectations for this series after the first season or two but seeing any work get skullfucked by blatant executive meddling the way this show ended up being is always sickening. Nothing deserves that. The retards in charge of this certainly didnt help either by spending the entire season on poop jokes and filler just to speedrun an entire season's worth of plot in a single episode.

Homelander's death was a bit too heavy on the wish fulfillment. Whining about the MAGA parallels in this show has become trite but you can clearly tell that whole bit was written one-handed. I will say a dude who spent half the show drooling over breastfeeding wasnt deserving of any more dignity in death than he had in life, but a little too far of a pendulum swing from, say, Lalo Salamanca who the writers weren't willing to give even an inch to show that he'd really finally lost one. Surely there's a middle ground.

So... Soldier Boy still hasn't been resolved, I guess I'm """""""glad"''''''' he's "alive", I just really hope Jensen Ackles gets to actually do something interesting with his career now. I don't care for the boys but the final plotline of Butcher going full genocide was a cool idea, I'm """""""glad"'''''' they did the bare minimum to adapt it at all.

What a waste of a show, can't wait for this to be forgotten and never talked about seriously ever again.

please I'll suck your dick
funny thing about the woke crowd saying there is nothing wrong with being gay while also describing the most humiliating thing to do is sucking another man's cock and eating shit something faggots do on the daily
GET IT? SAGE IS GOING TO HARRY POTTER ORLANDO BECAUSE STOOPID PEOPLE LIKE HARRY POTTER BECAUSE JK ROLLING TWANSPHOBIC AND TWANSPHOBIA BAD HAHA ACKACKACK!!!!!!
hahahaha they waited for the final episode to add all the woke checklist they even randomly squeezed in an Elon unfunny parody I think the real Elon will have more than 15 kids

Once again. This season has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. No idea why.
Because one could look at Season 1 and weep at how it weaved a compelling story while still being funny in a few non crude ways and also not look like it has all of 3 sets and a CG budget of 5 dollars and a cinematographer who couldn't give a shit if his life depended on it.

A man is born in a cage, he has no mother, and no father. Every day they torture him, from sun up until sundown. They vary it, sexual humiliation, psychological abuse, conditioning, physical pain. They tell him how to speak, how to stand, they give him a placeholder name, a thing that sits behind his Hero name. They watch his every move, plan his every hour, hour after hour. One day he finally snaps on the inside, and slowly but surely he kills them off. Until at the end he's on top. A rapid animal off its leash and now in the house. Then they take away his power, and he collapses back into that weeping child, willing to do anything to make the pain stop.

What does this story tell us? What was the author saying? Oh, nothing? Nothing. Lmao.
This is just one of the myriad reasons this ending is dogshit.

Love it or hate it, Homelander was made to be tragic, or at the very least, as much of a victim as the millions he torments.

So why is the kill so spiteful and out-of-character? He should be in a total mental break. He had multiple personalities all screaming in his head, straight up hallucinates, and more. Why is he talking more about sucking Butcher's dick? Why are his last words the most Marvel ass "I AM NOUN!"?

The show wanted to have its cake and eat it too: make a compelling antagonist in season 1, make him a pitiable loser in seasons 2-5, then make him the most moustache twirling, shallow Trump parody in those very same seasons.

So, the message? If you are a stand-in for a politician the writers don't like, your death is one elongated humiliation ritual while your sympathetic moments are completely ignored.

Sister Sage, the misanthrope who happily sent people to their deaths for her apocalyptic schemes, receives a get out of jail free card. I wonder why?

Ennis also gifted us with Crossed, which is probably where Western comics finally hit rock bottom. He should genuinely apologize to the whole of the human race for that one.
I couldn't agree more.

Crossed is a wretched pile of guano from start to finish and has no redeeming value whatsoever. The stories suck, the art sucks, and it's completely pointless.

I'm even someone who likes a decent amount of Garth's work because I have the same sense of humor as a 12 year old boy. But his stupid "2 Edjee 4 U" bullshit is absolutely insufferable and Ennis desperately needs to just retire.

If he just stuck to his strengths as a storyteller instead of injecting ever last one of his own mental issues into his work, he'd be much better off.

Seriously, who DOESN'T love seeing what happened to the Eastern European sex traffickers in the Slavers arc of Punisher MAX? Pure catharsis at it's finest.

doesn't explain everything but I did think this was interesting:

he then left the team after that...

Garth Ennis has a four digit IQ compared to the chuckleheads in charge of writing seasons 2-5.

The G-Men arc in the comics, for example, is a surprisingly respectful exploration child exploitation and cult indoctrination. For a guy who loves his toilet humor, he demonstrates a remarkable ability to show the horror and trauma of the victims.

Meanwhile, this show just thinks UE getting sexually assaulted is funny.

No, but seriously, what the fuck happened to the budget? I know actors supposedly took quite a lot this season, that's fine, but either they mismanaged the rest of the funding, or Amazon gave them some scraps. You can't make a superhero show without some expensive scenes showing off their powers. Especially in finale.

Where's the money, Kripke?

They clearly gave up on this show long ago and put all their eggs in the Soldier Boy/Vought Rising basket. Thats where the money went.

I don't technically have a problem with Homelander begging like a little bitch once he loses his powers but the problem is making it so that Butcher could've manhandled him at any time. What is the point of V1, what is the point of being so scared of Homelander getting it, what is the point of all these convoluted plots to kill him if he was never that powerful? Heck what was the point of season 3, 4, even 2 then?
The EIC got shackled and deposed by the British government rather easily the moment they started screwing up in India. In the same vein, if you applied this to Vought, the moment people started hearing of Vought scandals, the US government would nationalize them and seize all their assets.
Yeah but like I said the EIC didn't have an exclusive monopoly on the creation and control of walking wunderwaffes. Vought does so what exactly is the US going to do when they tell them to get in line and Vought tells the government to go fuck themselves? Not like the US government would have anything to threaten them with.
