That's not the fate of a character the author hated.
You're probably right.

I guess what pisses Moore off is that people agree with Rorschach's morals and views, which is still bizarre because he's by far the most relatable cape in the whole story. Even normies like and identify with Rorschach, and think he was ultimately right.

Now I wonder, what's worse, The Boys adaptation or the Watchmen miniseries. I'd say the second, there's more value in The Boys memery before it became muddled and confused.
The Boys adaptation is arguably better than the comic, while the Watchmen miniseries is one big trash heap.

The only person with a relatable moral compass is Rorschach, who, despite claiming "And I would whisper no!", still risks his life to stop Ozymandias' plan, and when that fails, dies trying to expose his crimes.
Ozymandias was a fart-huffing dipshit that spent his free time masturbating to the idea of the "greater good" and didn't understand humanity. Rorschach did. Objective reality agreed with Rorschach.
I think it's fascinating that we're not supposed to like the guy who, despite his mental illness and prejudices, can overcome those handicaps and opinions for the sake of doing what is morally correct. Sure, it'd be better if he just wasn't a jerk, but who's to say that wasn't also just a part of the facade? or split personality, or whatever the fuck.

With a poor ending. And then two more spinoffs. Plus a spinoff that was canceled halfway through and ends on nothing. It is debatable if either series were ever good. The Ennis series at least tells a moderately coherent story from start to finish. The Boys show is just Marvel tier writing with safe curse words (never nigger or faggot) and safe nudity (penises and balls, no tits or women at all).

The comic is at least politically incorrect.

There is actually some minor female nudity at herogasm, but if I’m remembering correctly it’s the only real female nudity in the show, and there’s only one nude scene of a main female character, starlight, which you get to see basically nothing of? and at best mildly skimpy scenes with the others.

Whereas you get an entire episode of Hughie with his cheeks out getting straight up molested, and supers that can use their giant prehensile penises and ropey balls as weapons, and a scene of an extremely hyper-realistic 4k render of a cock-head.
