When I first saw Homelander talking to Sage, I presumed he was doing what Homelander always does: Inflate their ego, make them feel special and loved for believing in him, then fuck them over in the worst possible way. Very typical narcissist fare and very typical Homelander fare. Then I realized this is current year The Boys, and we can't have Homelander doing smart things anymore, and it's just going to be that 4chan shitpost to a tee. I almost visibly cringed seeing Homelander fall for Sage's basic bitch observations. He was never the brightest bulb in the box but even at his dumbest, I don't think he'd have ever fallen for this.

LOOK HOW GAY THESE GUYS ARE
OH MY GOD HE KILLED THE SOYBOY CONSERVITARDS, DUUUUUUDE
SHE SAID MONKEY???

kike-worshipping nigger-lovers, i swear to god
The worst thing is this season is nothing but safe edgy conservatard bad shit. I'm rewarching earlier seasons and noticing they also had a lot of this shit, but they at least threw the chuds a bone here or there in the form of satirizing limousine liberals and "thoughts and prayers" corporate culture. Now Vought is an ultra-conservative family company that puts on musicals about keeping Christ in Christmas even though we saw them leaning hard on BLM/LGBTQIA+ bullshit not even one season earlier.

This shows viewership must be in the toilet because the only people I see talking about are the ones shitting on it.
It's going to be like Game of Thrones. Where it peaked with an extremely large fanbase and crowd. Then plummeted after the writing imploded and never came close to recovering to its previous high point. Pretty much everyone watching is engaged in the 'sunk cost fallacy'. They have already watched 3-4 season and just want to see the ending. Once the show has concluded it will shrink forever until it becomes irrelevant unless they began producing endless spinoffs and prequels just like Game of Thrones to keep the brand alive.

how the fuck do you notice someone getting their hair dyed and washing their hands more often from a goddamn tv broadcast?
that's not intelligence: that's superhuman perception
she is exactly the sherlock meme
her apartment is cluttered with books because she's le intelligent, ugh

It was always like that. Always pretending to be hardcore. Like you haven't seen gorey explosions in all your other media. Even Starlight blowing The Deep was safe edgy because she bounces back like it never happened or didn't do it for absolutely nothing. That one whatever rich guy with the sex toys from last season too. Le Narrow Eye kills people and *gasp* feels BAD. Nevermind the godawful attempt to make Soldier Boy a villain when he was the one most screwed over by everyone. It's all so pathetic.

Them trying to act like the Soyboys support Homelander and conservatism is the most laughable fucking cope I've ever seen. Because we all know rednecks are from cities, buy superhero schlock, and wear glasses like they stare at a screen all day. They know. You know. They know we know. And they'll still lie desperately hoping if they do it enough somehow it'll be true. The weak bugmen are the people who unironically like this show than the people who see it for what it is: goyslop.

"Prove to me you're the smartest person?"

"You age."

"You're hired."
Ironically enough, they made the strong independent black woman into Super-Trump's Heinrich Himmler. What exactly are their goals with these story choices? I know they masturbate to the idea that smart, POC women are independent and strong, but putting Sage on Homelander's side reflects badly on her. Especially given his mental instability, which she should already know is a problem. She should be trying to rat him out to Starlight given that at any time, he can snap and kill them all. Especially since he obviously isn't so fond of the Seven. Instead, Sage is encouraging Homelander to be a fascist and to destroy American democracy by inflaming political disagreements into full-on street wars so that he can swoop down and become the savior of America. So if he wasn't a fascist before, he is now, thanks to her.

It just kills the worldbuilding. Is Vought a super-conservative Christian company that wants to exclude non-Christians from Christmas by insisting on its religious angle, or are they a super-inclusive company that wants to let gays and lesbians in by marketing products specifically to them? It has to be one or the other, it can't be both.

Man I wish the Boys focused on taking down each supe one by one instead of whatever this is..

We already have them figure out and take out the chaneleon.

Black noir dies to Soldier Boy.

The Deep is a wimp.

Blue Flash dies to heart attack.

Wonder woman would be interesting cause she can stand up to Homelander apparently. Not sure if it's plot armor.

And we end with the big stand against the military that gets Homelander killed. Am I forgetting anyone?

It just kills the worldbuilding.
Nothing on the show is consistent. Victoria is shown to be able to cut herself open with a regular knife. Meaning her skin can be easily pierced. In another scene she has a bucket of acid thrown into her face without warning and is completely immune. Stormfront is able to survive bullets and explosions. But then in the same scene a human throws a knife through her eye. Homelander has superhuman hearing and smell. But then can't detect Hughie in the air ducts and decides to blindly fire lasers in a crowded room instead of just flying around and getting up close for the kill.

It's just as dumb as literally any and all superhero stories in all mediums.

This would require intelligent writers. They had Maeve, no longer powered, survive a fall from the top of a skyscraper. Nothing makes sense.

The marketing is very jarring. Maybe the idea is to make Vought be a company who plays both sides but I have no idea. The Vought On Ice skit is kind of strange since they have a line about "our bravest lesbian" then immediately follow that up with a whole fake musical song about "putting the Christ back in Christmas".

The whole "what if superheroes were actually evil dicks?" thing is no longer a subversion. It's become a whole new trope in of itself at this point, and I'm bored.
And people don't have enough nuance to write a character with complexity who's pushing the envelope in a grey area but still heroic or trying to be.

God I absolutely despise this trope. I mean, I'll admit that my preference is to read a book on my laptop compared to reading it physically (it's just so much easier) and reading it that way means you can cut down on wasted space. This is a clear case of "show don't tell" where we are being told that she's meant to be smart bc her room looks like the fucking Chandler's with books.

Kripke?

I don't know if they are actually related or he just picked this book as an ego meme.

This show is the problem with too much of entertainment right now. Games, movies, shows, books it doesn’t matter.

Map:

When it starts, it has political tones threaded throughout its overall story. Writers are ok with that.

Those tones are biased towards the left. They love that.

The audience is mixed in their beliefs, which includes conservatives/religious people, because the presentation is so measured, they don’t mind the minor biases and one-sided jabs. They don’t like that.

The audience latches on to the characters/elements that are more nuanced, instead of the ones they’re told told to like. Unacceptable by any means.

So the writers go all out warfare against that. Sacrificing established characters, lore, plot, and just common sense.

Homelander has superhuman hearing and smell. But then can't detect Hughie in the air ducts and decides to blindly fire lasers in a crowded room instead of just flying around and getting up close for the kill.
Yea about that...

In S1 there's a scene where the Boys hide underground and one remarks that Homelander can hear them through walls.

There's another scene where they stay silent or Homelander finds them (or was it Butcher) inside a building just with his hearing?

Also Storefront can tank HL's laser but gets crippled by a grenade?!

This show is the problem with too much of entertainment right now. Games, movies, shows, books it doesn’t matter.

No the problem with today's media is that it starts off with a risky idea given to new talent, and once it takes off it gets taken over by "industry veterans".

These faggots don't know how to write a story. All they do is ignore the things that made the original good and just inject mass appeal and copy others.

People liked MCU? Let's copy that. Elections are approaching, let's have le ebil noozi vs good left winger. Token lesbians and blacks?

They just ruin property after property. But, because they pick off right after S1, a lot of fans are onboard and they get all the credit. "I was a righter on the Boys S2, the best rated season".

Then the property gets shat on and corpotized, and by the time everyone jumps off they end the season and conclude "oh people got tired of this show" or capeshit or whatever. They got their names on the project, ruined it, and move on to the next...

That's why Netflix would launch shows and cancel them S2. Not enough viewers? Not enough media exposure? Canned! But if a show does well, a couple of shitcans will "take over", run it into the ground and take all the credit.

Case and point. It’s not enough to have left leaning themes, you have to grind your enemy’s nose in it. If they’re enjoying it at all for any reason, not overt enough.

I wish these people would just admit they want propaganda and 2-minutes hate instead of entertainment.

This is a common problem with superhero stuff.

You have to show how powerful and dangerous your bad guys are but eventually you'll end up contradicting yourself about their abilities because you need to push the story along by having them do something stupid that they could easily avoid if they used their powers properly.

The problem is, the writers see decent, common-sense ideas like wanting Christ in Christmas or embracing American nationalism as bad things. So of course, they expect you to hate Vought just because they insist on Christmas being religious, or they expect you to hate Homelander because he stands for the ''God/Guns/MAGA'' politics. But the fans don't see it that way. If anything, they tune in on the show because they like Homelander as a bad guy, but they don't really give a shit about the so-called ''good guys''. So the writers have to double-down on their BS because the viewers don't hate the things they hate.

But of course, the way they write things, it just makes the side they hate more sympathetic. Homelander is getting overburdened with running a company that he wasn't trained to run, and he's beginning to lose faith in humanity because they cheer for him whether or not he saves people or kills them in broad daylight. He's trying to connect with his son, but fails, and he's struggling psychologically over it. It's even funnier with Firecracker, who's supposed to be this dipshit MAGA/conspiracy theory bitch, but when you hear her story about how Starlight fucked her over, you begin to sympathize with her.

Remember that The Boys is written by writers who write for The Boys.

What I mean is: they can't possibly believe that bullshit superhero shows are cryptofascist propaganda created by neocons, because they are perfectly aware that it's created by themselves.

Anyway, I've been following this show entirely through youtube clips, and it's a laugh a minute. I can see how there were people watching e.g. the plane scene and thinking that the next few years weren't going to be retarded bullshit; hey, I feel for you.

I just don't understand how some of this could even be construed as satire by the glazers. You could maybe make an argument that the kike shit could be at least a bit funny if the political shit was the setup to a joke but it's not - the political shit is the punchline. It's incredibly low brow and fails to make any sort of point about the world, it just says "Qanon dumb", "chuds bad", "Trump bad", there's never anything clever about it. It's just a list of things to feel kike rage over and anyone who laughs at it I can only imagine as a complete retard seal clapping at whatever they were programmed to laugh at.

Like at least South Park tried to be transformative about the politics it wanted to run early on. Trapped in the Closet and that Mormon episode at least took the material as the setup to write jokes rather than just yelling SCIENTOLOGY/MORMONISM BAD and calling it a day in the writing room. The Boys has none of that, it's simply a slog to get through with concentrated lib tears soaked through it. They have no point to make other than to express how upset they are that orange man exists.

I've finished the first 2 episodes.

Ok, that was fucking gay. I suspect there is actual gay porn out there with a more coherent story.

And am I the only one who is black face blind and wondered why the black woman from Gen V was in The Boys.
