They completely passed on the opportunity to do something where the people who abstracted are actually the ones who got out. Could have juxtapose the ones in the circus watching their abstracted friends with the ones who got out waiting for them to wake up from the coma or whatever.

okay who the fuck is actually Ragatha hater?, it was pretty obvious from right at the very beginning that she was in the right, she just can't express it in the way anyone could fully understand.

When episode 5 released and jax and pomni became friends, Ragatha got a ton of hate online because she said pomni shouldn't be friends with someone who is mean to them all the time and that jax has no friends anymore, even going so far to call her abusive. (Not much in this thread as we didn't fall for it)

I have no idea what you mean "obvious". The show really wanted to set up this dicothomy between ragatha toxic positivity and jax cynical realism. Gangle says ragatha is fake, jax says she is in denial and pomni tells her "we all need to be a jerk sometimes", with the episode really looking like Jax could be nice if someone gave him a chance and pomni choosing to stay with him over ragatha.

But it's all insanely wrong and manipulative in hindsight now (probably intentional). Especially jax saying "Hey remember when ragatha got high in the fast food and told gangle to kill herself! that was funny!" That's hilariously hypocrite coming from a guy who drove 2 of his friends to suicide.

Fuck, everything Jax ever said and done in this show is now fucking insanely hypocrital. He wasn't a "self aware asshole", he was a hyper mentally ill overdosing on cope that it's just a game.

When ragatha said this so many people were like "OMG Ragatha is abusive and projecting her mother trauma on jax" and LOL NO she was telling the truth. The reality is that Jax fucked up, lashed out on everyone and refused 3 different second chances. There was no chance of saving him and they shouldn't have tried.

And i'm 99% sure goose wanted this intended reaction on rewatch, especially with some other lines and the maid outfit.

Eh, I hate Ragatha, she reminds me of a person I known in real life that's a constant thorn in my side. She's incredibly fake. She acts nice for her own comfort, lying to your face as necessary and not thinking twice about it. She could be right that Jax is a dangerous person to be around, but that still doesn't excuse her manipulating people for her emotional safety. Sometimes you have to be a bit direct and give people criticism, and learning to do that is part of the difference between nice and kind. Even without the stupid sauce, Gangle clocked her on that. All of these people would be hard to get along on some level.. except maybe Pomni, she seems to be the least mentally ill person to enter the circus (at least post Dementia for Kinger, otherwise Kinger is the clear winner.)

I can deal with people like Jax easier than Ragathas, because a Ragatha will always think less of you than she claims, while you might theoretically mean more to the Jax than he lets on. I knew a few people who just enjoyed being the asshole, and yet, because they were the jerk to everyone it was much easier not to take it personally that when it's someone who typically has a neutral presence and then just decides to target you personally.

Keep in mind, these people are spergs who couldn’t make it in Hollywood because they weren’t willing to take notes on their precious passion projects. Indie animators are some of the hardest people to be around, I cannot stress this enough, and often times the people who claim that the industry is “racist” of “incestuous” or “misogynous” or that “producers ruin everything” are the ones who just don’t like the idea that they weren’t given $40 million to make their an incoherent consequent passion project that’s secretly about their struggles with sexuality and mental illness.
People have been noticing the patterns since Digital and Hellavu but I've been seeing a bit of a narrative where people are complaining about how weird it is that Gameoverse is another pilot with tons of merch. This little industry isn't hard to notice how it's fully of the pseudo internet celebrity types (usually washups from the early Newground days) that as you stated couldn't make it in Hollywood so this is the next best thing because the entry barrier is much lower.

nigga are you really projecting your real-life experiences into a fictional character as a reason to hate her?

I think the most ironic thing is the instant merch is actually even more corporate and commercial than standard Hollywood.
It’s a well known concept that the animation industry is mostly propped up by advertising and merchandise sales, especially in the 1980’s when several cartoons were quite literally just 22 minute toy commercials. But here’s the thing, outside of those Hasbro and Mattel funded shows, most studios tend to wait before producing merch. Often times a show won’t get stuff until season 2 or 3 because absolutely everyone is afraid of producing merchandise for something that won’t be popular and being stuck with unsold product.
(This doesn’t apply to movies as movie tie in merch is most profitable while the movie is still in the theater and they always take a big gamble. Star Wars fans know this well as last Jedi merch sold horrifically).

With Glitch putting out merch for stuff that only has one episode produced, they’re effectively banking on the idea that people will be gullible enough to spend real money on an IOU for character development. Nobody can possibly love these characters yet, they’ve spent barely any time with them and they don’t know what the character will actually be like, but people are pressured into buying the toy in hopes that it’ll lead to a chance to decide if they love the character.

In a way, it’s far more corrupt than anything Hollywood has ever done with cartoons. They don’t hold a show hostage until toys sell. They usually just cancel an already produced show because the toys didn’t sell. This is serious cart before the horse. Which is probably why they’re going so hard on the tranny and gooner audience, they’re easier to sell to. Just put your cat girl in a bikini almost immediately(after doing a fast montage where she’s seen wearing various video game waifu outfits so there’s plenty of fan art material) and call it a day

I mean it's normal that behaviors we find insufferable in real people we also find insufferable in fake ones. It's why other people are seething about Jax, and yet some people are drawn to him. Some people like that personality type and others don't.

I don't like her because her approach is fake and I have personally been burned by people who show the same personality attribute so I avoid them in real life and eyeroll at them in fiction. I can navigate people like Jax easier, but I understand why a lot of people can't.

I would rather have people who are being sincere, but if I had to choose between someone who's defense is to be edgy and push people away versus someone who's defense is to pretend to like me to my face while quietly resenting me, I'll take the edgy boi.

I don't know how GLITCH will manage to end TADC with nothing happening in the first 7 episodes and only having 2 episodes left. If they somehow manage to make the story of TADC worse than MD's despite having all the opportunities not to do that, then I'm going to laugh so hysterically that you might as well call me the Joker. Hell, if that were to happen, I want someone to remind me to put the Joker on my profile picture.

>mfw glitch solves the problem of nothing happening in the first 7 episodes by making sure nothing happens in the last 2 as well

Considering how much they set things up in the first episode and some things got BARELY developed ever since. It really should've stayed as a stand alone episode and nothing else, leaving Pomni on the slow realization that she may stay up in that place forever without ever giving exposition on how the site works and giving Jax as little exposition as possible could really improve the show's narrative's weaknesses.

Hell, I can treat this pilot as a standalone animation and the other stuff being considered as filler. Except maybe episode 3 which is by far the best episode of the series besides this one.

Average modern indie animation, pump out a shitload of pilots and one offs, get a half decent pilot that people flock to, but since they have no skill to actually bring a show together it falls flat as a actual series and people realize you can't milk a 30 minute idea into a multi-episodic show, indie studio either goes back to making pilots until the cycle continues or they milk the show for everything its worth since they're in it for the long run and can't turn back.

Found some screenshots and even a few seconds of footage. They seem legit.

I'm going to post here a video since that is the one I'm the most confident in being real and not faked.

It seems like they are going to stay there forever. This is the most unsatisfying way to end the show. Them escaping the simulation would've been the good ending, and mass suicide would've been funny at least.

Thank you Brazil, very cool!
I am surprised that they didn't make Jax troon out, since the show is made by a troon and Jax's room looks like that of a preteen girl, I kept expecting a "Jax is secretly trans and doesn't want to admit it to themself so that is why they are such a jerk!" subplot, but at least Gooseworx didn't do that.

In my opinion, the series was interesting enough until either the 4th or 5th episode. There was therapyfag dialogue from the second episode, but 2 and 3 were at least focused adventures to different parts of the the circus. As others have said in this thread, the show should have really been episodic, mainly focused on the nature of the circus (a big part of its popular appeal was leaning on the whole "Y2Kstalgia/liminal space" aesthetic) and been based on a "monster-of-the-week" format. 4 could have fit in an episodic format but you could see the direction shift, while 5 is where the troon basicially stopped caring about the show outside of his self-insert.

It's not like Goose couldn't come up with any more ideas for an episodic format because both 5 and the leaked ending credits have a number of adventures you could have made episodes about.

Glitch seems to be banking on coomers buying the merch of their favourite R34bait character.

They have to be putting out for the execs. No one can have that little talent and still have a career unless they take the weinstein method
I mean idk about Sugar but Terrace literally got her start working on Gravity Falls, started dating Alex Hirsch himself, then while he was still a big deal got her Owl House show off the ground, and after that ended and by the time he lost relevancy she broke up with him. Now shes about as established in the industry as he is, and getting more work than him seemingly.

Dont feel too bad for him tho, on top of being an intern-fucking weirdo he's also extremely obnoxious.
