So I took the 3 1/2 hours out of my life to watch episodes 1-8 of this show. The animation work is solid. Obviously talented people are involved in this but it has the same issue as the rest of these millennial arts major shows. The dialogue. The issue with all of these shows is that the “people” making them are some of the most broken, wretched queers alive and no amount of therapy or feel-good horseshit has EVER made their miserable faggot lives ANY better. But the day they accept that is the day they join the 41%. Truly, it is the last cope of the copeless, as a fat-Canadian-who-showed-his-asshole-on-stream would say. An astonishing lack of self-awareness, but I expect nothing less from a troon. Suffah tranny.

The issue I see is they had a cashcow with TADC and rather than fulfill market demand they’re cutting it off early, and I feel this will bite them in the long term. Goose’s “creative integrity” was nonexistent and the finale proved that unlimited creative freedom is bad. They will not see the error here, and they won’t wish they’d extended TADC until it’s too late. I can’t estimate on finances or anything like that, but I don’t see Gameoverse filling the shoes of TADC.

No it's 100% intentional. i'm telling you that's why they fucking had this nonsensical ending of "nothing real the premise don't matter because they're all brain scan npc clones despite EPISODE 2 AND SEVERAL OTHER EPISODES BLATANTLY POINTING OUT THEY AREN'T AAAARGH

To put things simply, Whether gooseworx is involved or not, there WILL very likely be more digital circus sludge forever, as the ending is structured so they can just make sequels forever because the initial premise of them being people trapped in a VR game without access to the Internet is now sloppily nullified.

I posted it upthread a bit, it's a story called the Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. It has a lot of the same themes as TADC, namely human minds being trapped in a deathless fantasy and what consequences that brings. It's sooper edgy and dark, has some out-there content, but is otherwise interesting and well-written. On reflection you can really see where Goose took inspiration from it, if in fact there is wattpad jerkoff fanfic from the beforetimes from him.

I don't know if it makes it better or worse that it's also a knockoff. The official plushies are larger and and the ears don't sag like that. That's one of the cheapo ones you can buy from a market stall for a fraction of the price, just as long as you're okay with the stuffing probably being asbestos. To Glitch's credit the official merch is pretty well-made, to the point where you can quite easily spot the fakes even from a distance.

It definitely makes it funnier, when you consider how unbelievably hawkish Glitch are with their merch. At this point I'm just surprised they had the self-restraint to not call the show The Amazing Physical Merchandise

I'm actually pretty sure that's one of the official ones put out at fucking target of all places. I came across one that literally looked exactly like that yesterday and almost bought it for the funny to hang from a noose themed on zooble limbs but decided against it.. He will be spared for now.

Keep in mind, these people are spergs who couldn’t make it in Hollywood because they weren’t willing to take notes on their precious passion projects. Indie animators are some of the hardest people to be around, I cannot stress this enough, and often times the people who claim that the industry is “racist” of “incestuous” or “misogynous” or that “producers ruin everything” are the ones who just don’t like the idea that they weren’t given $40 million to make their an incoherent consequent passion project that’s secretly about their struggles with sexuality and mental illness.

I keep thinking of a group of 8-10 year old kids dressed up as TADC characters I saw when passing out candy this past Halloween. They were shocked that I, as an adult, knew about the show and watched it when I acknowledged the characters they were dressed as. They thought it was a kids' show for kids through and through. The deeply trans message of fragility and suicide if everyone around them doesn't validate them isn't mentally or emotionally healthy for kids to absorb, even subconsciously.

Tbh, kids in general seem to be surprised that adults know things that they expect only they themselves would know.

I remember coming across a TikTok of a guy my age who was an uncle to a kid who was playing Minecraft on the TV coming across the sand Temple.
The kid was showing him about coming across the sand temple for the first time with the captains saying that the kid doesn't know that his uncle has been playing Minecraft for years since he was his age.

And down in the comments, I saw people saying how kids are often surprised to learn that they have been playing Minecraft when they were their age too despite the fact that Minecraft has been out for over a decade and first became popular when we Zoomers were kids.

Kids seem to kinda forget that things existed before them.

I myself remember when I was playing Sonic Generations 3Ds at a family gathering and my older cousin who was in his mid 30s at the time spotted me and said to his friend "Remember those Sonic games we played when we were kids?"

With all the things regarding the finale, it just hit me that Jax vindicated ragatha about not wanting pomni to be friends with him.

At the time it was presented as jealousy and toxic positivity cope but the reveal that Jax drove his last 2 friends into abstracting, and ragatha herself admits she tried to befriend Jax and thought she would be next to abstract, proves that she was RIGHT. Heck, more than right.

Jax wasn't simply toxic, he was actually dangerous to everyone around him. If he and pomni stayed friends he might have caused her to abstract, but then he breaks up the friendship (in the most retarded way ever) and offs himself offscreen, sucessfully guilt tripping her so much that she tries to save him and she almost dies trying.

Like, there was nuanced debate with Ragatha's fakeness vs Jax raw honesty but now it's OVER dude. Jax wasn't "keeping it real", he was bullshitting cynical cope to convince himself he drive his own friends to suicide. His last words to ragatha are saying her mother still abuses her and when he dies she cries for him.

I want all the ragatha haters to start writing the apology forms. Jax did everything wrong.
