Murder Drones is the most autistic goddamn thing i've ever seen. I watched 2 eps of it and have NO fucking clue who is supposed to be good or bad, the DadBot is the only one who seems to make a lick of sense, and he's a worthless coward unless he's defending the daughter he banished against the school councillor. The evil murderbots and 'good' workerbots who are turning murderbot or something switch alleginces and friendships and who plays kick the autistic so often I have NO clue who I am supposed to cheer for.

People actually LIKE this confusing codswallop? The animation is cool I guess, lots of robo-body horror and ooey-blooey, but that's it. I guess I am just not mentally traumatized enough or said 'fuck you Dad!' enough to get it.

Do you at least know about the noseless corpse-wearing robot possesed by an eldritch abomination that speaks like GLaDOS? She is the villain of the show, which means she is one of the few genuinely evil characters, and the creator's favorite character.

Yes. The creator has monster girl fetish. If you look at his works prior to Murder Drones, you'll see that he almost always includes a monster girl with sharp teeth and that big smile he loves to draw.

My only exposure to Murder Drones was that one video mocking indie cartoons that was going around a while back, and I mean no exaggeration here. I’d rather watch 500 hours of the circus freaks giving each other amateur therapy than subject myself to 5 minutes of those retarded robots spewing that godawful dialogue.
 
Finally got around to watching the finale with the missus. It was incredibly mid. Like, it wasn’t the worst ending I’ve ever dealt with, but it absolutely was not good. I’m more sad the voice cast likely won’t be playing games as much anymore more than I am the show is over; I got very burnt out on it being the Jax Show after Ep6.

I can’t even try to blame the fact that it’s dubbed in bean for the disconnected story because they talk so little anyway. Jax ACKstracting off-screen made us double-take, and I couldn’t stop laughing at how ham-fisted the FunnyDoll scene was. RagaPom literally spent a solid minute staring at each other.

Honestly, I was worried the tranny Jax would be worse, but it was basically non-existent. Frogger puts her ribbon on his head, but it was immediately after he confesses that he almost killed his mom and ran away from home. There’s literally nothing connecting it to tranniness (outside of trannies being women-beating freaks) and like the wife said it was more like Frogger was giving Jax a symbol of her trust. Blasting “isn’t she lovely” over what was essentially a FunnyBunny edit just made everything else feel even jankier.

Ultimately it felt like Goose was shoving every idea he had into this; we could have easily expanded this into at least two proper episodes and it would have helped a lot. Especially the Caine part. I feel like we needed a lot more of an exploration on him before he came back, more understanding of C&A, the Blue AI, etc; apparently that’s expecting too much from a tranny and Glitch. Still a better ending than AoT, and it ended happier than I expected. Although showcasing the IRL people was 100% redundant since Pomni tried to say “actually, I’m not Abigail, I’m Pomni” anyway. Should have just had them agree looking at their IRL selves was pointless since they’re the digital versions. Though it’s really funny Jax is a fuckup and this mf Leroy is tapping Zooble’s IRL counterpart.

It’s definitely that they want to be part of “The Big Boys™” and showcase whatever half-assed ideas industry rejects bring in, but it’s not necessarily a bad investment strategy. Devolver Digital did similar before their IPO; investing in multiple projects at once ensures that, eventually, you hit a “jackpot”. The difference is GP doesn’t use venture capital, rather subsisting off of grants, partnerships, and the profit they recoup from successful merch sales (which is also a direct indicator of pilot success).

The issue I see is they had a cashcow with TADC and rather than fulfill market demand they’re cutting it off early, and I feel this will bite them in the long term. Goose’s “creative integrity” was nonexistent and the finale proved that unlimited creative freedom is bad. They will not see the error here, and they won’t wish they’d extended TADC until it’s too late. I can’t estimate on finances or anything like that, but I don’t see Gameoverse filling the shoes of TADC.
 
Watching the Gumroad video,
I started out like Josh thinking "jeez PPP it's just a kids show it's not that bad"
Coping with "some characters are kind of cute"
"Ok it's taking kind of a long time for anything to happen"
"Ok all of these characters are annoying"
"This is deliberately wasting the viewer's time"
And the third episode turned me into PPP's black pilled "this is fucking terrible in every way"

As a fan of video games it's especially egregious how uninspired and uninteresting everything is.
It's genuinely insane to me this show is for adults.

The hardest I laughed was PPP and Josh saying "imagine someone whose wife actually died getting the 'I miss my wife' shirt"
