Watching the Gumroad video,
I started out like Josh thinking "jeez PPP it's just a kids show it's not that bad"
Coping with "some characters are kind of cute"
"Ok it's taking kind of a long time for anything to happen"
"Ok all of these characters are annoying"
"This is deliberately wasting the viewer's time"
And the third episode turned me into PPP's black pilled "this is fucking terrible in every way"

As a fan of video games it's especially egregious how uninspired and uninteresting everything is.
It's genuinely insane to me this show is for adults.

The hardest I laughed was PPP and Josh saying "imagine someone whose wife actually died getting the 'I miss my wife' shirt"

I could go into greater detail, but that would be better suited for a different thread or a DM as a lot of it is stuff normal people have no interest in learning about.
A thread about this somewhere would honestly be great to give more details about how it all works. Assuming what you're saying is true then it more or less sounds like a case of some guys not knowing what the fuck to do with a company and having to wing it as they go, which makes sense since I honestly remember SMG4 himself being a pretty chill guy back in the older days, meanwhile running a business especially when you're trying to be ambitious is the opposite of chill. Like they wanted to give this big troon with the big money all the freedom he needed to keep going since it was clearly making big bucks, except that's gonna be their worst possible mistake when this shitstorm hits theaters.

The issue I see is they had a cashcow with TADC and rather than fulfill market demand they’re cutting it off early, and I feel this will bite them in the long term. Goose’s “creative integrity” was nonexistent and the finale proved that unlimited creative freedom is bad. They will not see the error here, and they won’t wish they’d extended TADC until it’s too late. I can’t estimate on finances or anything like that, but I don’t see Gameoverse filling the shoes of TADC.
One thing you learn fast about indie animators is that they have no work ethic and want to cash out as fast as possible, which is the polar opposite of the Hollywood industry that wants to ride the train until the wheels are broken and the lights don’t turn on anymore

I skimmed the first ten minutes of TADC and it feels like I'm being brainwashed. It's a feeling that's hard to explain but I could almost feel my attention span dying in real time. Also, the characters mentioned "going crazy" or "le hecckin insanity" every 15 seconds. Okay. I get it. It's baby's first internet spooky thing. This is just a collection of things I've seen done better elsewhere.
Holy fucking vindication :story:

Thank you

What's prime intellect?
I posted it upthread a bit, it's a story called the Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. It has a lot of the same themes as TADC, namely human minds being trapped in a deathless fantasy and what consequences that brings. It's sooper edgy and dark, has some out-there content, but is otherwise interesting and well-written. On reflection you can really see where Goose took inspiration from it, if in fact there is wattpad jerkoff fanfic from the beforetimes from him.

They definitely expanded way too fast and are spreading themselves extremely thin. Most studios stick to one or two projects tops until they’re so established they can afford a massive multinational workforce, said studios also usually get contracts to animate specific shows. Titmouse is a great example, as a studio they create relatively little, but they’re the largest contractor in the American industry and constantly have a stream of high profile projects they’re hired to animate.

I’d say the studio that so far has done it mostly right is Spindelhorse. Hazbin Hotel was their breakout hit, they immediately licenses it to A24 who brought bento box in to fill out the workforce with experienced animators, and then they used the profits to make Helluvaboss independently, but they haven’t attempted much more at the moment.

@me when you decide to make the thread
I have no idea where such a thread would even go, or what I’d call it, and I feel like ultimately end up as the site’s most autistic thread

The pinnacle of abc news host guests has a jax plush and hazbin/helluva merch in the background and the bisexual lighting.

I don't know if it makes it better or worse that it's also a knockoff. The official plushies are larger and and the ears don't sag like that. That's one of the cheapo ones you can buy from a market stall for a fraction of the price, just as long as you're okay with the stuffing probably being asbestos. To Glitch's credit the official merch is pretty well-made, to the point where you can quite easily spot the fakes even from a distance.

It definitely makes it funnier, when you consider how unbelievably hawkish Glitch are with their merch. At this point I'm just surprised they had the self-restraint to not call the show The Amazing Physical Merchandise

You really underestimate what's here on KF. Since it relates to the animation industry I'd say it's a good fit for Multimedia, and if nothing else it can just get moved elsewhere.
Either way, GLITCH spreading themselves super thin explains why episodes of anything take forever to come out.
