The funny thing is these avatars will most likely die before their real world counterparts. If the simulation gets turned off or anything goes wrong with, say, the wiring of any part of it that's just running endlessly...then that's it. Electronics can be fickle as fuck and things degrade, it's only a matter of time before something goes wrong and everything turns off. The fact the program has been going on for years nonstop is nothing short of a miracle.
 
I’ve been told the person who kept insisting they had an English dub has now turned their Discord server into some Minecraft shit, so I guess we’re never getting that file after all. It already sounded pretty unbelievable that he had it in the first place. Sad we'll have to wait until June 4th and June 19th to watch the trainwreck get worse.

Adventure Time didn't start as that, which is the worst part. AT had some little bits of lore and stuff in season 1 and 2, but it wasn't until season 3 that they went all in on it. And, to their credit, season 3 was great. But season 3 sowed a lot of the seeds that would end up ruining the show.

The worst one being insane fangirls shipping Marceline and Bubblegum. The crew later pandered to those fans so hard that not only did two previously straight characters become gay; the whole fucking later part of several seasons revolved around their dyke relationship, completely overshadowing the supposed main character.

I initially liked it as a fun show that had a bit of mystery. I avoided the fandom (learning quickly to stay away from them) and enjoyed the show as a mildly entertaining story. Caine became my favorite character from episodes 3-8. The slow progression of him glitching out and losing his grip a bit more each episode was well done. I thought his crashout was great for the story and a natural progression after all the hints of what was coming. I liked the concept of an AI programmed to make humans have fun, but the AI doesn't fully understand how humans work so he accidentally annoys them at best and tortures them at worst. It's like an AI getting a copy of Resident Evil and being told "Humans LOVE this game! It sold millions of copies! There's a huge franchise, people love playing it so much!" and that AI creating a horrorscape for the humans to "play in" thinking they'll have a great time (which was explored in episode 3 in a funny way).

I was already a longtime enjoyer of the game SOMA and was even looking forward to a SOMA-like reveal in the final episode because of how heavily it was hinted. I didn't even care if the ending was stereotypical, trite, or predictable. Even with my low expectations, the final episode dropped the ball and addressed nothing but shallow, forced sentiment. The way the characters acted felt like the writers had suddenly never met another human in their lives and was so weird: Pomni's emotions turned on and off at the drop of the hat. One moment she's sobbing while holding Jax while he hyperventilates knowing he's about to become a mindless monster. Seconds later, she's smiling and laughing with her other friends, who pulled her away from Jax, now the mindless monster he was terrified of becoming. Did a human even write this scene?

I've already addressed many details why I felt like the final episode was terribly written, but the rest of the above is why I enjoyed most of the other episodes.

I like the horror of that. I remember there's thing Black Mirror episode where this guy transferred his consciousness into a video game but gets stuck within it, unable to quit the game as the camera cuts to his real body motionless on a chair. It's the realization that you are trapped in a digital prison while your body rots and there's nothing you can do.

Like they're already just copies of the original person and irrecoverably corrupted, not to mention basically braindead once abstracted anyway, just deleting them and starting over with a fresh copy from the og brainscan would basically be indistinguishable from simply erasing their memory and starting over, which I can't see why Caine would have any moral issues with.

Why would he keep the abstractions and just never bring the person back? Why wouldn't he keep trying over and over until he figures out each person enough to get what he wants from them (their approval)? He's an AI sitting in an abandoned building for 20 years, he never thought of that?

With this question alone you've created a better premise for a story. A reverse IHNMBIMS where an AI has to try, over and over and over, to keep his subjects sane. Probably working towards a proper goal. Always hoping that this will be 'the one'.

Maybe the AI didn't delete all the traces properly? Maybe he's misjudged what's actually corrupting them? What if they can uncorrupt naturally?

All of those above questions have a better foundation for a story than who Zooble will get to poz their tranny neg hole.

Black Mirror's digital clones also have a time dilation thing where years can pass inside the simulation while only a few hours pass outside.
 
Can't wait for the all average consumers to see the ending, go back through the series, and make a "signs that were obvious" video of all "foreshadowing" to then go and glaze the hell out of this project like it was modern shakespeare. People are actually going to cry and be destroyed on the inside over Jax abstracting. It'll be like when Bakugo "died" for one chapter and girls threatened to kill themselves over it so much that (Horikoshi?) had to bullshit him not dying by some literally who hero stitching him up and saving his life.

The lack of well made media is making bad media seem good. I haven't watched many shows/movies that I've actually enjoyed. Everything just feels like slop now. For every "Hereditary" there is a Hazbin Hotel. For every "Annihilation" there is a "Scream +1".

When the fuck did it all go downhill? How do you have millions of creatives in the field, yet none of them actually make anything of quality? They need to start requiring and I mean REQUIRE that show/movie writers have a finished script of the entire fucking thing before pitching even a pilot. All of it written the fuck down from start, to middle, to end. Then, if it's a cartoon, we strap down the Over the Garden Wall guy and make him go over it to see if its shit or not and fix anything he says to fix with no questions asked.

So sick of all these creators who don't know wtf they're doing being given the freedom to make the "Next Big Thing" and devolving into trash. They need to require only finished media before accepting, even if just the script (unless it's episodic with only a minimal story line like Smiling Friends. It's focused on comedy, not lore).

Have editors make changes. Have someone who looks dead in the creator's eyes and say "Fuck you that's retarded we aren't making the owl "truly" in love with an imp since childhood you dumb fujo-banshee".

It's especially dogshit when it's lgbtqiaBawitdabadabangdadangdiggydiggydiggysaidtheboogiesaidupjumptheboogie+ content. When Elton John dies these people are so fucked. We won't have a single non-bullshit gay creator in media ever again.

We just want well written and constructed media, man. Indie people need to be held to a standard professionally and creatively. Goose shouldn't be crying on main about his show. He shouldn't interact with them outside of resharing fanart and saying "thank you guys! You're support means everything to me!!".

No showing up to cons looking like slobs, no crying on the internet, no bitching about content farms, no crying about NEGA jokes, etc. Act like an adult and curate an adult audience. You want to act like a child online, don't be surprised when you're audience turns out to be children and man-children. Write a mature story thoroughly from start to finish or stfu.

In "Black Museum" they show that it's now (at the point that episode takes place) illegal to trap a digital clone ("cookie") in any form that's not capable of sharing at least 5 emotions, and in "Hated in the Nation" they have been awarded human rights.

Black Museum is a Carl Pilkington episode, too, which is funny.

I mean I'm already writing my own continuation of the story that picks up during the Pomni Jax hug scene. A lot of people are probably doing the same.

Makes you realize there was a good reason most cultures tried to steer boys away from the effeminate.

I've noticed this going on for quite some time, and it predates gen z. All the boy band types from the millenial days were also very effeminate, and it's only gotten worse with the recent obsession with 'twinks'.
