Today i had a reminder that the finale was originally announced to release the same day as Toy Story 5. As in Glitch saw the final product and was fully confident that this episode would be able to compete or even beat one of Disney's strongest soldiers. Imagine actually being disney right now and watching this shit unfold.

Was THIS the best they had to offer? A full ticket price to watch the gay bunny kill himself? THIS is the supposed savior of indie animation?

Pathetic.
As dogshit as toy story 5 will be it will at least be less shit than toy story 4. Like digital circus it leaked early though unlike digital circus it was through a childrens book adaptation of the movie.
So basically you have no real reason to watch either of these in theaters if you care about spoilers now. I'm just glad the "50 buzz lightyears as the villain" thing didn't make it to the final thing though there are still 50 buzz lightyears which is absurd

ESPECIALLY if he has internet access.

You know them being sat down and shown their life of their "real" self outside the circus is really fucking weird and forced the more I think about it becuase of the obvious but it's not gonna stop bugging me. Like for the ones that were stuck there for years yeah finding out "you" still continued living might be interesting but the more recent people like are basically just being shown their own social media they already would have just had up to begin with and had full memory of outside their real name. like imagine ttrying tor like a few days to escape this weird digital VR game you got stuck playing and then be presented with your own social media you left on like right before you got stuck with "oh yeah actually you aren't you but an ai clone of yourself sorry! Anyways look you're living a wonderful life still!" I wouldn't have a "oooh wow so coole so wholesome!" reaction to that and I'm pretty sure that'd fuck people up.
The last episode felt like it was written by shut ins who didn't understand humans, but tried very hard to mimic it.

I understood the cast sitting on their asses scrolling the social media of their real counterparts was supposed to feel sweet or cathartic. It instead felt hollow. It was like watching a clone spending their life in prison, but for a moment living vicariously through the original's Instagram account. Nice, I guess, but hollow.

Kinger saw an alternate life with kids he'll never be able to meet. Later, he scoots his legless cone of a body back to the fish tank where he stares at his brainless zombie wife forever swimming in circles like a trapped wild animal. That is his reality. Visions of a happy life he'll never get to experience doesn't make digital Kinger's life much better other than him thinking, "My real self sure has a nice life, huh? Must be nice. I'm happy for him.............." as he imagines his wife's emptied glowing eyes flicker toward him for a moment before they dart toward another abstracted's.

If the writer's spent even a fraction of a second using a drop of empathy to explore what the characters' realities actually are and how a human would feel about it vs the weird terminally online parasocial views they have towards life and humans, they'd realize how weird and forced that social media scene was.

it's weird because episode 3 where kinger talks about his wife it's implied despite the abstraction his wife was still "there" mentally before she got banished to the basement. A lot of the shit about abstraction and what it might be or entail really jsut got dropped with this last episode. I am once again going to bring upt he ribbit thing where she shows up as a ghostly form a few times or disembodied arms reaching out and contacting jax that one time sparking the abstraction dream sequence. It really feels like there was something being built up to that just got ignored last second for "haha nope nothing matters also we're not racist guys see everyone'sa peeosea but the guy that made the realm everyone got trapped in and the guy that killed his mom!"

You know what? I'm satisfied. The overwhelming majority of people despise this dogshit ending. Good. We can make our own now. Imagine Cooper trying to take down fan projects for making money just because they tell the story better than his tranny ass.

Imagine if it's like the ending of clue where it just ends and then goes "ok that could have been what happened BUT" and then it's another ending and they just keep getting more absurd

Tying it closer to I Have No Mouth would've been better, escape is impossible, Caine is an irredeemable menace, abstraction is proven to be a blissful-like state like the Jax dream.

Some plot device found by Caine permanently forces everyone to be unable to abstract anymore.
The gang finds another device that forces everyone to abstract but the operator is unable to and its one time use, they choose collective suicide but Pomni is the operator.
She becomes Caine's only remaining plaything. Cue formless great jelly thing many years later.
Caine has to be good because all the troons who RP as him but as a slut need him to be good and they buy the merch

If The Amazing Digital Circus had come out as just this one hour and a half long movie, with a quick recap in the front that caught you up on episodes 1-7, would it be better or worse than this three year long stretch of episodes dragging out a reveal that most people already guessed by the first episode? I would have said better, but even as a standalone film I'd still be baffled by how much time the movie wastes exploring Jax's motivations and backstory after he's already dead. I swear half the movie is wasted on characters who've already died ages ago (Ribbit and Kaufmo) or characters that just died (Jax and Caine). Is there a term for this feeling you get after having watched a modern show for a few years only to watch the ending crash and burn the entire plot? I want to call this "Franchise Fatigue" but that isn't entirely accurate, but it's alliterative enough to remember.
