I mean I get it's not common at panels for the people on the stage to wear suits and ties and shit, but like is wearing a collared shirt, or a nice pair of pants, or shaving/looking presentable that big of a challenge? :stress:
 
So hold up there is no copy of the full movie? I just want to make sure, if these are all correct about the movie. Because if it is, holy shit, what an absolute let down for Glitch and indie in general. What a waste of talent and resources for the creators self inserted gender issues, fetishizes, and horrible writing as a whole.

Where the hell have you been?, there is a full copy of the movie you can watch right now anywhere you go, including one right here in this thread.
 
I'm still thinking on what happened in the movie, OH MY GOD! What a mess of a plot they've created. But seen in a Kafkaesque way, it's VERY funny.

I have no idea where to begin with everything that happens with Jax in the last episode. I can't believe this is how he's written in the last episode, and I'm not sure if Gooseworx has any idea of the number of negative implications he's left for the character and, consequently, for himself.

I've never been a fan of his; I have posts in this thread that demonstrate my problem with the character. But I always thought that the negative implications surrounding him were at least subtle enough to give him the benefit of the doubt to see where his true intentions lie in the story, even if his "development" was poorly written and executed.

But HERE? Arriving at Kaufmo's funeral dressed as a maid. Approaching Gangle like a pervert at said funeral? The mention that he killed his mother? Provoking Ribbit's abstraction? Dying in the first 8 minutes of the movie, being abstracted, and none of the characters giving a damn that he died?

There's no way to describe how messed up it was that all of that was shown on screen. All the subtlety about Jax was thrown out the window, and all the negative aspects of the character were amplified. It's like Gooseworx said "Fuck it" and just amplified all the bad press as a way of flipping the bird to the fans who hated him or wanted to see his redemption. Had this been handled with even a modicum of care and thought, it could have been a brilliant subversion. But given everything we know about Cooper and his obsession with Jax, and the idea that it was all an allegory for being a tranny, it ended up burying any goodwill this character might have had.

The funniest and most bitter irony is that if Jax is an allegory for being a tranny, then Gooseworx provided the best possible allegory for one. A character who's a jerk to everyone around him, who has panic attacks over anything, who's extremely selfish, and who'll commit suicide if you take your attention away from him for even a moment. There was absolutely no need for a movie for this dumb dumb ending, God almighty.


PD: Why didn't Bubble do anything in the end? All that provocation of Caine was for nothing. What on earth was that?

They bothered to setup all this shit, that is completely anachronist to the show own setting, mind you, but couldn't write a decent ending.
Creating real life social media accounts to the characters, just to get spammed by dumb fanboys, was the last thing the revival of western animation needed.

It seems like they are going to stay there forever. This is the most unsatisfying way to end the show. Them escaping the simulation would've been the good ending, and mass suicide would've been funny at least.

More than half the cast feels almost pointless
Ragatha Zooble Gangle and Bubbles add so little to the plot and have barely any character development(this is extra embarrassing for Gangle because she had an entire episode dedicated to her but it had so little substance it did not matter.)
Makes me almost feel bad for the fans whose favorite character was one of those four, the show gave them barely anything to chew on.

Yeah for a final theatrical episode the scale felt really small. No set pieces or new characters or anything bigger than the other episodes that'd warrant a movie.

Adult Swim recently did a thing called The Elephant where they had 3 different creators (The creator of Adventure Time, the creator of Steven Universe, and the creator of Over the Garden Wall) collaborate on a cartoon, each getting a section to write and direct. The Over the Garden Wall guy's one was by far the best one and the only one that feels like a real person wrote it.
