So if Caine can recreate abstracted (dead) people because they're all based on brainscans anyway... why didn't he just delete the abstractions and bring the person back to try again every time they died?

Like they're already just copies of the original person and irrecoverably corrupted, not to mention basically braindead once abstracted anyway, just deleting them and starting over with a fresh copy from the og brainscan would basically be indistinguishable from simply erasing their memory and starting over, which I can't see why Caine would have any moral issues with.

Why would he keep the abstractions and just never bring the person back? Why wouldn't he keep trying over and over until he figures out each person enough to get what he wants from them (their approval)? He's an AI sitting in an abandoned building for 20 years, he never thought of that?

The comparison I made to Don't hug me I'm scared got me remembering the other golden bits from that which totally eclipse the "nothing matter they all are just ai clones and must enjoy wacky hell forever"

One of the episodes of the don't hug me I'm scared show literally opens with them arguing over how good it'd be to be dead after the newspaper claims the bird guy's dead.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=z4aGgtBuaD8 Could you imagine how DOGSHIT it'd be if this show decided to go "no nothing matter it all fake simulation!" shit at the end like this circus fuckery instead of the goofier nonsense ending it got?

Funnily enough, I saw a TADC animation using this bit

This is your brain on HRT:
confinement-finale.mp4

Guy tries to escape and suddenly a naked joke devolves into sheer sexual degeneracy that’s totally not the creator’s poorly hidden fetish disguised as “humor”.

holy fuck, they are fucking disgusting

Dots are being connected

Especially ive been seeing people call out why they dont just euthanise the abstracted by deleting and overwriting them instead of keeping them in a little retard zoo

That’s like keeping your friend that zombified as a “pet” because they are “still there somewhere” or something

When it actuality, your friend is now a dead husk begging for death that you selfishly refuses to grant.

Because Cooper didn’t think of it and is not computer-literate. One could theorize that perhaps the scan didn’t make backups, but you’d think after Scratch abstracted Caine would think to make backups, given his nature is a creative AI who’s purpose is to make humans happy. He can obviously alter their scan files in RAM (silly sauce), and delete things (Gummigoo). So he has the tools and drive to do so, but that would be too convenient. And again, Cooper was too stupid to consider the ramifications of an AI with admin control that can un-delete itself at-will.

And thinking on it, he already makes backups of NPCs and equipment in Bethesda-style testing halls. Gummigoo returns with his buddies after all, and we know NPCs can become self-aware (possibly based off of brain scans). There is literally NOTHING stopping Caine from doing the same. In fact, it would be more beneficial for the computer because running dozens of abstractions in RAM must be killer on his ability to host adventures.

I kind of feel bad for Gooseworx, its painfully obvious by now that he never wanted to make a super hit show or at least though that he would get the same numbers that Murder Drones and could manage that but then he finds himself punching way above his weight and was not ready to deal with that kind of expectations. Maybe he's still enjoining the money but I think he would have stayed happy being a semi-known indie animator that made weird animations like Little Runmo once in a while for a tiny fraction of what is now his current fan base.

Really I think that also part as to why he has lose any motivation with this project, TADC just feels like a waterdown version of his usual stuff, more commercial while also more personal which I don't think was a good combination. We'll have to see if he has any creative drive left in the future after this whole debacle ends.

Edit: Also, there's a huge problem with the end as-is. You can only be happy for so long spending time with the same people. At some point, you're going to run out of things to do. At some point, you need fresh input, need to meet new people. And what if someone pulls the plug? I feel like they just delayed the inevitable. Everyone is going to go insane regardless.
That also introduces another issue: the VR headset is still running which means others can still put it on not knowing what they are getting into, would it be just for these new digital copies to keep perpetuating this process of eventual ego death? Pomni and Co. can cope all they want that they will have each other to support themselves but really, it is worth to make the new arrivals go through the trauma each time?

is jax the most accurate depiction of a transgender individual in the history of fiction?

- misogynist, serial abuser of woman
- deeply insecure, keeps lashing out at others
- tries extremely hard to be "funny" and projects a fake persona
- dreams of sexually harassing a lesbian at what is effectively her girlfriends funeral
- also intensely jealous of their lesbian relationship
- assaulted his mother because she joked about his gender identity
- suicidal, kills himself in the finale

plus, we literally see his real life person being a regular dude, showing that it's not innate to him and just something he picked up on the way. other than a real woman legitimately being into him, this is essentially the archetypical real life troon. you can tell that gooseworx wrote that, both chuds and "trans allies" wouldn't be capable of it. doesn't save the story as a whole, but wow.
