My favorite is when the guy behind the SCP animated series trooned out and quit after an episode he spent a long time working on leaked and it was just the protagonist accidentally raping everyone.
Was it true that he took all the Patreon money for the show and blew it on coke or heroin or something? I kept up with the show when it was popular but completely forgot about it when it got deleted, so I didn't see the leaked episode until a few years ago. It was insane and coombrained enough that it being made by a sperging troon on heroin was a completely reasonable explanation to me.

To these people, a "filler" episode is one in which nothing happens whatsoever. However, because TADC has characters spaz out and have a realistic portrayal of a panic attack basically every episode where nothing else happens, it is no longer filler.
When they argue they want filler they aren't actually arguing for filler. They're arguing that they want more time for the plot to explain shit, or for character interactions to matter.

For character development, Pomni seemed to give surface level fuck-all about Ragatha for most of the runtime, and then suddenly Pomni's saying that Ragatha is her closest friend. We also never get "the talk" they were going to have, so this statement comes out of nowhere.

The only episodes that mention the plot/the lore are the pilot, 4 seconds of Episode 5 using Jax bar scene dialogue, 2 seconds of Caine looking at pictures in Episode 6, and then Ep 8 and 9 both shoddily rush to the finish line. So everything just comes out of nowhere.

EDIT: I should clarify my personal interpretation of filler is Steven Universe fucking around with the random townies.

Goose is at his best when he's just making weird scrunkly shit like this. A lot of people, especially in this thread, think Goose had full creative control over TADC but this isn't true, in fact, tadc wasn't even the original idea Goose had for a show. Goose wanted to make something 2D like he usually does and Glitch rejected his ideas and made him make something 3D instead, and tadc was, if I recall correctly, more or less made up on the spot to appease them.

I don't remember EXACTLY where I heard all this from but I wanna say it was in the Slightly Artistic he did with Oneyplays

>Makes show based around super popular internet property
>Randomly make an entire episode of your beloved show nothing but an extended orgy porn scene
>All the characters accidentally rape each other
>Freak the fuck out and abandon the project when it leaks
>Take all the patron money
>Troon out
>Vanish forever

SCP is a truly cursed idea.

All this SCP shit stems back to a funny 4chan copypasta fake government file of a statue that shits itself constantly and kills you when you aren't looking at it by breaking your neck in a fit of autistic rage. never forget what they took from you.

Looking at this again the turn to acting like people that find nega funny should kill themselves makes it even more hilarious knowing how frequently these guys drop hard R bombs on your mom and don't even give a shit

The should could have been a workplace comedy where they just exist in a wacky world, Caine runs a temp job place, and the cast are looking for employment and most of it wouldn't change
Don't hug me I'm scared when they got a slightly higher budget for the sequel to their series of spooky edutainment parodies did that kind of thing
it doesnt' feel like it's been 4-ish years since this but it came out much faster than digital circus and I still remember having a really fun time watching each episode with some friends on screen shared youtube reuploads like this because it was exclusively on some UK region locked streaming service otherwise and all of us watching were AMERICAN (and canadian).

They never even seemed to be consistent on what exactly abstraction even is. First they imply that it's caused by Caine messing with their brains with Scratch, and seemed to be pushing the viewer towards that by having Caine mess with Jax's brain in Untitled before he almost abstracts in Beach Episode then that's completely abandoned and threw out the window. Jax just abstracts himself offscreen despite Caine not being around, and he's the family pet now. So it appears that it's actually supposed to be a sort of suicide allegory then, but why the hell did Kinger bring up Scratch at all as if Caine caused it, and why did Caine freak out when he said that? Another seemingly important moment left hanging with no answer or explaination. This whole time I thought they were edging us for the inevitable glorious lore dump, but none of if even existed. They didn't bother writing backstory or elaboration for anything at all. I can't stop sperging about it because it's just such a steaming shitshow disappointment.

Even conservative estimates put Steven Universe at ~50% filler, you can skip half the fucking show and miss nothing (not that any of the lesbo drama is much better)
At the very least SU occasionally remembered it had a plot that needed to progress at some point, but that's the only leg-up it has over TADC

Its because TADC both takes itself too seriously and not seriously enough. Nooseworks wants to make this slow burn, atmospheric, genre-redefining, bone-chilling, spine-tingling existential horror but at the same time falls victim to basic pitfalls which any author that spends more than 15 minutes reading their script would catch. It misunderstands its own characters and loves to make these masturbatory scenes that are so miserable they become uncomfortable rather than emotionally preturbing, e.g. the Pomni + Jax red light scene, or the many tumblr therapy sessions littered throughout. It tires too hard but not hard enough to actually be good. Its just a problem that is endemic of milleniall troon writing, from the individual story beats to the plot that fails to ape SOMA effectively despite being given every chance to pivot away from the obvious and to make it actually good. Pacing is another thing, the movie moves at a breakneck pace and still fails to meaningfully resolve a lot of the plot. There's too many holes to be enjoyable for anyone that tries to think about it for more than 5 minutes. Its the same argument Rebecca Sugar gave when people were asking questions about Steven Universe, its just "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's not part of the story chuddie :33333" hand waving. Also the live action ending sucks donkey dick. Have a satisfying resolution? Nah, lets have Caine doom scroll for in front of the cast / audience instead. I just remembered, Kinger exposition dumps about C&A and "conjuring" in the prior episode instead of having any attempt at all to employ "show don't tell", or something of that nature. Why bother using conventions that have worked since the Epic of Gilgamesh when you can have sucky sucky 5 dollar $EXPOSITION_DUMP and cram a 2 season show into 9 episodes? Gemmy job, Nooseworkx, gemmy job.

In hindsight, I feel like this is a cautionary tale for why creatives should not be given total control over their project.

Did we never learn from the failure of Hazbin Hotel? Both of these shows really are the same. Both steer away from the premise shown in their respective pilots. Neither can properly carry out compelling arcs that had early potential to be interesting. Neither GW or Vivziepop can listen to critique until its too late, and regularly crash out due to their hatred for their own fandoms.

GW admitting the show blew up beyond their skill level and that they probably shouldn’t be the figurehead could be a very becoming statement... but this all could have been avoided if they hadn't spent the whole show saying they weren’t going to change the episode scripts, even though these problems were all complained about really early on. They had three years worth of grace to actually course correct based on the criticism they were getting. Did nobody at GLITCH warn GW about the reaction EP 9 would receive if they refused to change shit? Is there really no one trying to tardwrangle this script right now?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I’ve heard GLITCH offered to expand TADC into a second season really early into production, and Nooseworx turned it down. I assumed that offer happened because GLITCH realized the story probably couldn’t be told properly in only nine episodes, but chose not to push harder out of respect for creative autonomy. I can't believe they put their foot down for a theatrical release instead of for fixing these glaring problems. It really was all about money for these people, and always will be.

What hacks. It really is bleak for western animation.
While a tard wrangler is required for most artists, Digital Circus was doomed because everyone knew what would be the big twist at the very first episode. Maybe 30 years ago it would have worked, but now it's outright expected so even trying to build a mystery imploded.

The big issue with western indie scene is that everyone has an idea, no one knows how to actually implement it in a good way.

Genuinely how the FUCK does ONE guy (Iron Lung) prepare a better screening than a million dollar company company funded by Australia? This shit is fucking funny.

I don't want to spoil myself hard because I want to watch this dumpster fire but at least I know Caine is back.

EDIT: I was going to make a video detailing (well... more so joking) about how shit the lead up to this film has been. I didn't want the video to JUST be about racist Jax & Zooble & some contractual bullshit leading to it being pulled from South Korea & Australia. I am so fucking happy this has happened.

Because one project is headed by a man whose right in the head and the other is a tranny is why.

It’s pissing in the wind for me to try to debate this point but people saying who Jax was trans are clearly tourists or retards.

Are you telling me a tranny would seethe this hard at being put in girl clothes?

View attachment 9036274

Jax being trans only works if he’s female -> male which, let’s face it, isn’t happening.
Bruh, you would have had a point if not for the fact that—

THAT'S EXACTLY THE PART OF THE BLOODY FETISH.

You really think that the fact the creator chooses to use the outfit on the character for any reason, while having that uwu animu blushing thing, is coincidental?

Checks out with Cooper's feminization art where another jerk macho man gets constantly transformed into a chick, is mad about it, until he is really not. That's one of those delusional "she is just an egg" signs in the eyes of troons.

Denial until inevitable surrender that brings catharsis and absolute happiness.

I think an author of Whipping Girl mentions something along these words when explaining why the whole sissy fetish appeals to men like him. It's probably very fitting for any other similar kind of transformation paraphilia. Ain't it just makes so much sense after you see what kind of moral Cooper wanted to tell to his audience?

What you are witnessing are the wisest words any low-life beta male in a skirt can tell you. Don't fight the inevitable, just relax and cope by indulging yourself in hedonistic cravings.

You know what, Coop? There is happiness in accepting yourself as a man and living your life as one as well. Except it's implies too much responsibility for you, doesn't it? Better be a magical fictional square-shaped "still not a girl" inside your head and be happy jacking off in your room all day.

Caine truly was a man of his time (1996).
