The irony of Glitch working on Knights of Guinevere, which is a one big hate letter towards Disney, while also trying to get on with the "big guys" is certainly something

The Space King guys literally told Netflix to fuck off when they were offered a TV show deal.

Ugh! Instagram's option to filter posts from my feed by typing specific words isn't working properly. I literally typed everything I don't want to see, including "Digital Circus" and all related terms, and I'm still getting cringy TADC fan art, animations, and memes in my feed.

Anyway, this appeared on my Instagram feed. How many of you know that Daneboe, the creator of Annoying Orange, became transgender in the early 2020s?

Anyway, let's check the news on Twitter...

I feel like I lost brain cells reading the comments below. They're like: "Bro, this is sad. People should treat my beautiful mistress Gooseworx with more respect. She's writing the best series of all time, and these ungrateful bastards are demanding more screen time for Ragatha and the rest, when every character in this series is so complex and well-developed. Imagine hating on a character for having too much screen time compared to the others." Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but they really do say similar things.

Some people, however...

I've been MATI over Glitch masturbating to their indie darling status since the Knights of Guinevere pre-release marketing

They were already doing that even before Digital Circus existed.

Digital Circus exists because they asked Gooseworx to make a show for them.

I thought it was the other way around. Gooseworx pitched the idea to them. In fact, I remember reading on Gooseworx's old Q&A page (I couldn't find it, it's buried under a bunch of Digital Circus and Glitch pages, sorry I don't have a screenshot) a question from 2022 where a friend suggested Gooseworx contact Glitch. It went something like this:

"I heard that you wanna pitch a cartoon show. You should ask SMG4. They've done an amazing job with Murder Drones."

And Gooseworx's reply was "What's a SMG4?"

I miss the days when making indie animations just meant wasting time in Flash making crappy, but somewhat charming animations. When it was just a matter of "I wanted to make this, so I did"

I'm all for artists getting support and stuff, and I get that on its own, making indie animations as a living is horribly unsustainable, but God. Sometimes, I feel the hard agenda push of "Make Indie Animations more mainstream" overshadows the initial reason why indie animations were beloved in the first place.

No one wanted to make them because they wanted to change the world, or the industry, or whatever. They just wanted to make something.

Basically this

1757995047283.webp

Sure there's other shit they've poured their digital circus money into but that's like "diney... BAD?" shit so far and turning a fun flash cartoon from over a decade ago now by rubberross into a reboot that's just now a Pibby-like apparently

Don't forget Gaslight District.

E: The lerdwichagul brothers are tranny lovers

Sometimes I get the feeling that some of the things Glitch does lately would be the kind of things that Classic SMG4 would make fun of.

Ngl, I miss the politically incorrect humor of Classic SMG4.

gonna keep an eye on these. could have some good content.
first one exploded in videos. there are some real specimens here.

say hello to the average TADC fan i guess.

Cancerous fanbase aside (still Glitch fault for that), to me the main problem is that the show doesn't have a plot worth the "SEE HOW IT ALL ENDS ON THE BIG SCREEN" given that it's non existence until the last episode.

But let's say that the bet pays off and now TADC has gone truly mainstream, would it be wise to give Gooseworx that much attention when he has proven time and time again that he in fact cannot handle having that many eyes on him? By the way he twitted about it, he himself doesn't seem super enthusiastic by the idea, not very indie of Glitch to put profits over the desires of their creatives.

I think it's gay and retarded to be upset that the thing you like is successful enough to warrant a theatrical release.

It would be a great place to meet new friends that share your interests. You'd have to wear a ventilator for the smell, but regardless.

If it leads to 41%, it's all good in my eyes

You can find something like that if you search with names of free animation software like SFM, MMD or Blender. Algorithms want you to see things the ads will look good next to. That means something other than a passionate shitpost where Thomas The Tank Engine runs over Pajeets.
I can tell most of them are kids but holy fuck I had no idea TADC fans where like this. When I go to The Last Act in theaters I'll definitely be on the lookout for wild cows and calves.

Lmao, are these people trolling? If I, for some reason, wanted to attach a recording of myself to a petition I'm signing, I would make sure to:
  1. Write a coherent argument.
  2. Present myself in a good manner, likely to make a good impression on the viewer.
  3. Set up the camera properly, so that the face of the speaker is well lit, cropped and visible.
  4. Deliver my speech in an eloquent fashion, and thus practice before recording if necessary.
I know that these people are likely spergy teenagers, but come on, man. Shaking the camear at my feet and/or wearing a furry outfit isn't going to convince the cinemas to oblige to my request, but the likely the opposite. Self-presentation and making good arguments is something taught in schools, no?

Anyway, I stumbled upon this post:

All I know about this French VA is that they transitioned and that Zooble's English VA simped for them (unless I mixed them up). Is this a nothingburger, or actually something of substance?

Anyway, something I found in the replies to the announcement, have this as a palate cleanser:

Personally I'm happy, I am worried for how bad the theatres will be.
I debated heavily on picking up tickets for this exact reason. The idea of seeing the finale in theaters is awesome, but imagine the stink when walking inside. The possible return of popcorn throwing like with the minecraft movie. The full grown, obese autists mixed in with confused parents who brought their kids and have no knowledge of the show or its fandom. It's gonna be awkward, smelly, and annoying.

I ended up getting the tickets anyways, the theater I chose surprisingly had no seats reserved yet so I'm hoping that's a sign that few people will show up on the day I picked out.

Pretty much every theater around me is getting it so I'll likely end up going. While I am looking forward to seeing it, I'm actually also interested to see the shitshow that is the fanbase irl. Looks like a good amount of tickets are selling for each showing too. Now do I chance it and wear some Kiwi merch or play it safe and wear Oneyplays or something?
