I miss the days when making indie animations just meant wasting time in Flash making crappy, but somewhat charming animations. When it was just a matter of "I wanted to make this, so I did"

I'm all for artists getting support and stuff, and I get that on its own, making indie animations as a living is horribly unsustainable, but God. Sometimes, I feel the hard agenda push of "Make Indie Animations more mainstream" overshadows the initial reason why indie animations were beloved in the first place.

No one wanted to make them because they wanted to change the world, or the industry, or whatever. They just wanted to make something.

I'd call the act of "just making something" with THIS animated adventure a resounding success!

...I mean unless they fuck it up with "ooo nothing real infinite sequels now ooo milking this shit forever into a soulless husk" shit. Seriously what the hell are they even gonna DO after digital circus ends? It's their ONE THING! Sure there's other shit they've poured their digital circus money into but that's like "diney... BAD?" shit so far and turning a fun flash cartoon from over a decade ago now by rubberross into a reboot that's just now a Pibby-like apparently. Which is funny because apparently pibby is getting released finally soon if they get enough cash for it or something? I'll need to check into that again I heard a lot of shit the last few months about animation shit from random people I've interacted with.

It's so funny that their whole brand is pretending they're just silly guys making cartoons and then this letter is essentially just them admitting they desperately want Hollywood people that they allegedly don't wanna end up like to pay attention to them
I'd say a chunk of the people involved are indeed silly guys making cartoons but yeah this is a clear move to try and get an "in" and ladder up possibly like what vivziepop did once bezos got a whiff of Hazbin

Cooper in 8 words
Wacky hijinks! JERKS OFF TO TURBO TEEN. ...DRILL!

Australians works in the most mysterious ways :null:

If they manage to bank a Le vidiagame or character collabs in relevant games then kinda may flow at least in that department. But a movie? Netflix collab Arc? doubt it. FORTNITE SKINS OMG (Likely btw).

Fairly certain that ain't happening, Zazlav and WB went thru some shit, and even if they didn't, I'd imagine the crossover stuff is what killed it. But that's what gave it it's CHARM, damnit! God I hate that Pibby lite clone GLITCH announced, fuck you rubbeross

Everyone is making this theater experience out to be a horrific event of cringe full of insane adult man-children and Redditors. I love cringe, it makes me feel alive. I kind of want to go to one of these showings now to see the human freakshow in person but I'd have to sit through TADC. smh

(^actually thinkful comment^)

A: Iron Lung and the FNAF movies have already done the hard yards, also film festivals exist for a reason
B: No one goes to the fucking theatres anymore as cinema has been dead for a while as a medium to tell something halfway interesting.
C: Why not schedule it so that the youtube video comes out a day or two after first screenings? Obviously theatre's will lock in times due to them operating on a slot system but everything is likely already completely done so you can just put it on youtube a bit earlier to not have the gap.
D: I very much doubt they are going through the due process in Australia as you can literally put anything in fucking local cinema's near university campuses in major cities but somehow these guys are getting trouble doing so.
E: The lerdwichagul brothers are tranny lovers

EDIT:

It is because they want to push pseudo-intellectual theatre kid horseshit as something akin to hollywood bulwarks. They just use "Indie" as a skinsuiting excuse, which is passable in the minds of their viewers.

I haven't watched the video, but does it mention anime at all?
In 90% of cases anime is supposed to act as an advertisement to whatever manga/light novel it’s adapting. That’s why most shows never go past the first season.

Exception being when a show is popular enough to support merch despite production costs.
