Ah that’s a shame. Cool about the Motörhead cover though. I saw them about 3 years ago and it was all pretty much classics (we even got Bloodlust even though Mantas wasn’t there!). Would’ve liked to have heard Prime Evil or Harder Than Ever though. Great set and good energy regardless.Saw Venom Inc yesterday which was neat. Sadly the hall was tiny and the crowd was pretty lame(including me), especially for the first band Torture Squad. Hope they don't take it personally, Dutch crowds just be like that until the beer kicks in. The heatwave probably didn't help. They played The hammer in honor of Phil Campbell which was awesome. Really missed some Venom classics like Witching Hour and Black Metal though but whatever. They did these long ass drum and guitar solos as well which I'm guessing was so Demolition Man could go have a smoke backstage.
Meanwhile I've been going through some Iron Bonehead bands.

Mechanized is pretty good, but I also like Genexus so far. I will give Obliveon a try later.fwiw they kinda went back to the Demanufacture sound on their album Mechanized. It's not bad.
Possibly a hot take, but imo the next-best thing are Obliveon's last two albums: Cybervoid and Carnivore Mothermouth.

For context, Obliveon was a technical thrash band and going all Fear Factory was regarded as a sell out move and way too simplistic and unoriginal by their established fan base. If it was supposed to make money, it didn't work, and to this day it's more obscure than their (already pretty obscure) early albums, but it's actually very good stuff, just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Carnivore Mothermouth is like what Static-X would sound like like if they didn't totally suck ass and have like one good song maybe.
Accurate. I'm a blackthrash fag by nature but I wish there was more of this type of thrash. It's hard to find stuff that isn't lame DUDE BEER BRO party thrash shit.I'd call it Crossover Thrash personally.
Great track! One of my favourites, its actually a cover of a original by a punk band Minor Threat, which in no way lessens its greatness
This is my favorite Goatwhore song. Very catchy and I dig the extra punchy snare. Ben Falgoust's (vocalist) previous band Soilent Green isn't too shabby, either.Great track! One of my favourites, its actually a cover of a original by a punk band Minor Threat, which in no way lessens its greatness
Recently found this band, great for swimming to - Goatwhore, "Born of Satan's Flesh"

Their early demos and EPs have been re-released with very good sound. I personally think they went off the rails after a while but there's a lot of good stuff on there and it's accessible now at least. The 1990 recordings in particular are all gold. A lot of very Swedish sounding stuff, blistering and groovy with Sunlight production.https://youtube.com/watch?v=WvyYpB6W9AM
Underrated band, I suspect that being Swedish but not producing Gothenberg trash was harmful to them.
Just a reminder that Chris Barnes fucking sucks:

I am just getting back into extreme metal after taking a few years off, totally missed the metalcore and deathcore come ups, so please be nice. What is this considered a hybrid between slam and grindcore?Slight departure from my wigger slam kick (the vocalist is a black guy)
That's the album with Strapping's rhythm section, right? Hoglan and Stroud. Powershifter's lyrics were inspired by Gene's pedals.Speaking of Mechanize, I gave it another listen and I think Powershifter might be one of my new all time favorites
https://youtube.com/watch?v=3cMW6vCI_KwNot sure what makes that album so special, maybe it's the raw delivery and the no-nonsense lyrics, something about it speaks to me.
