Had some in town errands to run today which brough me here, so though why not pay tribute to the man himself.
Asked the candle lady if it's alright to do this and she says it's fine.

RIP King Terry the terrible. The CIA are niggers but you will always be a real nigga in out hearts :heart-full:
Please refrain from saying he committed suicide, not everybody thinks that way and your contribution is unneeded. You can do so with your discord buddies.

In terms of lolcow crossovers that never were, I think none had more interesting potential than St Terry and the Almighty Fedsmoker

Hard to believe it's been nearly 10 years since his death.
And to this day, Terry had more talent in his pinky finger than any of the pajeet nigger cattle from Bill Gates' ranch that currently works at Microsoft. Just think what he could have done by this point if Terry didn't kill himself.

I remember when Terry died, I was very resentful of the internet and blamed people like Metokur and lolcow content farmers for bringing trolls or bad actors into his life, and felt the internet at large was partly responsible for his death. I wished Terry would just disappear from the internet, get committed into a rehab, and try to start fresh.

In time, having dealt with addicts with severe mental health issues in the past 5 years, I know that nobody could have helped Terry except for himself, and schizophrenia made that pretty much impossible. Even if some saint took Terry under their wing and provided everything for him, odds are he would not have gotten any better.

Big R.I.P. to the Whitest Man I know :semperfidelis:.
I wish I could have even but an ounce of knowledge, skill and dedication as Terry had. Sometimes I do wonder what would happen if he hadn't commit suicide, what would come of TempleOS, if he would ever finish it...

Rest in peace King Terry
1969-2018

“An idiot admires complexity, a genius admires simplicity, a physicist tries to make it simple, for an idiot anything the more complicated it is the more he will admire it, if you make something so clusterfucked he can't understand it he's gonna think you're a god cause you made it so complicated nobody can understand it. That's how they write journals in Academics, they try to make it so complicated people think you're a genius”

God Bless King Terry

26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

- Matthew 6:26-34 (ESV)

He was not a full blown addict. And schizophrenia hadn't been recognized as a serious disorder until his death in the wider cultural sphere. I have worked with a schizophrenic on medication, and despite the occasional "glitch" as I dubbed odd behavior, he was pretty cooperative, friendly and really wanted a friend. He even invited me to an arcade one time and obliged.

He could have recieved medication and help, but did not. The trolls are going to exist forever in some form, it's human nature. He could have been better. He could have been helped. Please refrain from this doomerism, it's not only depressing but helps noone.

edit: not to take away and nullify your entire post, there is a point of no return with delusions when it comes to consent to getting help. And he did refuse it, even refused strangers on the street offering food and shelter. Hindsight is 20/20, knowing what we know now, the key is prevention of reaching that point. It's an insidious condition but you are not doomed for having it. This goes for other mental conditions rooted in genetics.

Fair points. I was more reflecting on myself and how I've changed, rather than maintaining my former position or despairing that he was doomed to die. I'm aware that people did attempt to help him that he refused, and that makes more sense to me today, having seen the same. I've also seen the other side; people who at one point seem completely beyond help, but something happens that turns them around. But there's no easy way to give that to another person.

Did he not make the decision to stop taking medication, and that's when he started spiraling and became homeless? When you say "He could have received medication, but did not", isn't that the same kind of despair? The guy made those decisions that put him into the point of no return, and it's sad. I'm not trying to perpetuate sadness over it, it's just yea, hindsight.

Schizophrenia is increadibly unpleasant and the medications for treating it are equally unpleasant. Alot of schizophrenic people stop taking their meds because they hate going through life as zombies. The delusions are at least a sensation they can feel as opposed to being drugged out of their minds all day. The treatment for severe cases like Terry doesnt makes them better. It makes them manageable by turning off the brain.

In more civilized times like the middle ages schizophrenic people would be cloistered in a monastery or nunnery where the brothers and sisters would tard wrangle them all day and indulge their rantings and apply beatings when they became dangerous.

Safe places like that dont exist anymore.
