I'm really into cars and don't have anything against people doin shit to their cars that I wouldn't do.

My big gripe are absent minded drivers blocking people from passing, stopping in the right lane at a red light, etc.

Also, I thought the 'rice' term was 'murican. When I was a kid we'd call Japanese sport bikes rice rockets. 90's tuner scene is where the saying began to cover more than bikes.

Unfortunately, I still see a lot of those types around where I live; fart cans and all. Though they've spread out from just molesting Honda Civics into any older cars they can get their hands on--particularly Subaru Imprezas.
oh don't get me wrong. there will always be people ricing things out and the people behind it are still annoying, but nowhere near as bad as it was 20 years ago. As somebody mentioned earlier, the fast and the furious was going big at the time so that may have played a part as well, but it was to a point where i've seen some of these people try to gaslight people into buying absolute hunks of shit cars that are completely unsafe just because it was a honda. i'm talking about frame about to snap in half from rust, suspension about to or has given up or really badly modified, the the thing could be knocking like a jehovah's witness on a caffeine buzz.

not only was that annoying, but incredibly stupid and dangerous. even the other brand fanboys don't do that shit, they say "yeah they ae normally good cars/trucks, but that one is a piece of shit" and you get the odd brand glazer, but they usually get dogpiled for it and kept in check.

so in a way, spreading out the brands had kind of fixed that issue

the cars went wrong when you made em for niggers, that's when it went wrong.
it's like "oh it's a stick shift" eh fuck you man, white people don't mind it, okay.
the white people are like "yeah, it's a stick shift, so what's your point?" the niggers are all like "noo, it's- we don't like the stick shift"
here's the difference between a white person and a nigger, do you like the stick shift? okay you're a nigger. fuck you. get the fuck out.
I love my manual transmission Toyota. Just the right year to be easily repaired and not have bullshit computerized systems.

So, there are a few types in my area:
  • Africans that are driving Tahoes/Suburbans for Uber. They shouldn't be driving ANYTHING, let alone these boats on wheels.
  • Indians driving EVs. They thought they were pulling some big scam during the EV tax credits, so they all got them. They have no idea how to drive and constantly bicker with everyone over charging stations
  • Basketball Americans who buy old Kia Souls and fill the back with shitty, blown-out speakers to blast bass-boosted rap.
Also confirming that something is fucking wrong with Ford Ranger drivers. I've yet to see one that isn't driving like an absolute nutjob.

There is an endless supply of mechanic-provided videos of the death traps people willingly drive around. The amount of them that refuse repairs and drive away will leave you feeling insane.
Yeah it's wild to me that people willingly drive around in 2 ton deathtraps at 90mph. Some people are even proud of it! A lot of states don't even have annual safety inspections anymore, not that they did much because Mexicans and white trash retards just drive with expired tags and no insurance anyways. The inspections, at least anywhere I've lived, are super basic anyways and the mechanics hate doing them because they make basically no money from them (like literally a few dollars), but the state requires that they do them. I know a guy who passed the inspection by pulling the check engine light bulb.

I'm positive the Fast and Furious movies have had the biggest impact on ricecar culture back in the early 00s, and even to this day. Except the ricecars of back then have been replaced with an even lazier version of it now.

Instead of Hondas with fart cans and huge spoilers on them, it's modern muscle cars (Camaros, Chargers, Challengers, etc) with shitty LED circus lights and superhero stickers plastered around the body like a child's stickerbook. Seriously, if you've been to a car show the past few years, you'll see 15 Chargers in a row with the same shitty LED headlights and underglow, while they brag about their "modded" "themed" cars. At least the ricers of the past threw on set of aftermarket wheels.

Anyway, my point is that back then, Fast and Furious starred mostly imports, where as the later movies, they're basically superheros with muscle cars. Lines up pretty well with the types of people "modding" their cars. I agree that it's still nowhere near as bad as it was back then, but it's also that the scene shifted from all raspy fart can Hondas to Chargers with rainbow lights and stickers.

What's with people having negative camber on their cars with low suspension? I'm sure that's hard to go over speed bumps.

I just had some retard driving his shitbox with the entire passenger side caved in raise his volume next to me, I think he didn't like that I laughed at him.
I'm sure that's hard to go over speed bumps.
I'm not sure any thought goes into that, roads that are perfectly flat are becoming a rarity now.

And fuck these people that like to rev their loud mufflers and drag race on public roads or occupied parking lots. Car culture now is to be as obnoxious and reckless as possible, public safety be damned.

It mainly became a thing in drifting circles because it affects steering and the way the tires grip the road, which can help keep better control around corners. It does have an actual function there.

However the lowest common denominator got ahold of it and turned it into a "fashion statement". 95% of the people that have camber don't actually drift their vehicle and just do it for the looks, which is utterly retarded.

Dodge Ram 4x4 Long Horn Big Horn More Horn morons. Complete prom queen beauty pageant trucks 99% of whose owners never put it through a day of work. Put modern corvettes up there too. Every summer we have a 'club' of a couple dozen of these dweebs and I swear they were cloned in a vat; old as fuck, potbellied, polos up to their tits and tucked into their khakis. Obnoxious too because they try to direct traffic at the gas station and hog the pumps.

Where I am it's old Asians. A few years ago there was an old Asian woman driving the wrong way in the emergency lane on a major highway during rush hour.
A few months ago on a 4 road I saw an old Asian guy driving with his passenger side front wheel trying to fall off. I hollared at him at the stoplight but he was blissfully unaware, so I made my right turn and went on my way.
Why do so many Muslims have Teslas? I hardly ever see Muslims but when I do they're driving a Tesla.

I didn't know it had anything to do with drifting, but I know a Jeet who has it on his summer car, and he burns thru tires like crazy. I swear he has to buy a new set of rear tires every season.

Proof that nigger isn't always relegated to skin color. It's a way of mind.

If the tires are slanted like that, they don't evenly drive on the road. So, he's probably wearing out tread faster than normal. (Is this the same guy that pointed a gun at you or something?)

Oh yeah, tire replacement becomes an every few months thing with camber like that.

Most actual drifters don't daily their drift cars because it's a massive waste (plus their cars are tuned to run a specific way which isn't always the most street legal or convenient) and usually have a separate vehicle they drive normally around in.
You see a similar phenomenon with people who have proper Rally/Off-Road or Drag/Race builds. (However there are some who make what I call "Enduro Builds"--mostly seen with off-roaders--that can drive just fine on the street as they can off-road; and of course there are also the good street racer builds).

I also forgot to mention that the lowered suspension helps with lowering the center of gravity, so the car doesn't flip over as easily when drifting through hairpin turns.

The idiots doing it for the look do it to their daily/seasonal drivers because they're retarded LMAO

Alternate take on what caused the shift based on what I'ves een:

When they were younger, all these guys were drooling over the fancy muscle cars, but knew they could never afford them.

What could they afford? Grandpas old Honda Civic, their aunts old Subaru, or some beat up Nissan from local car listings.

So they take them and deck them out with whatever assorted mishmash of aftermarket parts they can both afford and easily install. Instant Ricer.

Once these idiots grew up, they realized they could afford the stupidly expensive muscle cars they always wanted, so they get them. And since there's not much they can modify without risking fucking up the car, they settle on cosmetics and "themes"

Since they're manchildren, this means superheroes and assorted capeshit.

Also some dash cam content as a little treat.
I love dashcams. My favorite clips are the ones where the driver records themselves breaking the law and is fully convinced the other guy is at fault. Half the time they're either doing something illegal, leaning on the horn instead of braking or creating situations that could've been avoided entirely with one small adjustment and basic situational awareness
