Let me preface this by saying that I am not a car guy. I dont care much about cars other than getting from A to B. That said, there is this one particular fellow at a job I had that considered himself very much a "car guy". I was given the unfortunate duty of babysitting him.

One morning I got a call from him and hes stuck on the side of the road. Ok. I ask him what happened and he said his car made a weird clunky noise after driving it for only a minute or so and it stopped running, so he had to push it to the side of the road. I ask him a few questions and figure out that he had just changed his oil. Hmm. I asked him what oil did he put back in it and his reply was "nothing, i just drained out the old oil". Ah. What pissed me off more than anything though is that all this fucking kid did at work was talk about cars. How.

That's hilarious! Was it his first ever month of ever even owning a car or what?

That reminded me of a personal anecdote that happened when I was visiting a friend and we went to get food with another friend before I headed back home. Guy rolls up, sees my 350Z, and starts going off how "he hates Japmobiles and he ONLY drives Mur'kan makes!" I let em finish and promptly point out to him that his Eagle Talon is literally the Eclipse with a shittier looking skin on it.

My concern is that it has that many between 12 different owners, meaning that around 12 of those maintence records are likely from whatever Dealership processed the car and not from the people who owned it.

I could be wrong but that's my mindset around it.

The fact the car is being passed around like a blunt is not a good sign to me xD
Actual sports cars often have a higher-than-average owner number because people will buy it, enjoy it for a year or two, and then sell it when winter comes or they get bored with it. My dad once bought a BMW 3-series convertible that was (at the time) 20 years old but had 7 or 8 prior owners. It was nevertheless completely stock, well maintained, and reliable.

This is obviously not the case for a normal sedan like an Altima, let alone one that has been driven hard and modded. And/or passed around between subprime credit buyers.

Here's yet another Infiniti driver with the typical Infiniti car mods:

  • Extremely large spinny wheels
  • Raised up high as fuck
  • Multiple underglows including the INFINITI one on the door
  • Large as fuck speakers on the door
  • Shitty as fuck music
  • Social media handle on the window
